Operation Titan Co-Op Campaign

Recommended Posts

Operation Titan is an evolving co-op campaign designed from a story that changed based on the mission ran and the decisions of the units playing them. This is different then anything being played to our knowledge and we are proud to invite other ARMA2 groups to play with us here how it works.

War Room Day-Plan your mission on our map, coordinate with the other operation titan units if you need air support call for it, if you need infantry support ask one of the ID's or play the mission with just your clan and hope for the best, in any case war room is where you will plan your mission and build your base with a full logistics system.

Mission Week-Play your mission and try to complete all objectives tasked to you, but be aware that the civs you kill this week may plant an ied next week, or the information you miss may get another unit ambushed on their mission. Once complete turn in your results and find out how it affect the titan story line.

Operation titan uses a points based system to manage vehicles and equipment what will be explained here is how those points work and how they are awarded.

Costs: Everything in titan has a points related cost unless other wise stated, Bases roadblocks, boxes, and vehicles all cost points to obtain in game.

How you earn points:

1. Monthly allocation- every month your unit is awarded 100 points by the U.S Military to help cover your campaign upkeep

2.Missions- Each titan mission will have a points value associated with it for example one mission may be worth 50 points and the other 100, what mission you choose will be up to you

3.Finding Intel- When your unit finds Intel on the field and reports it you will be awarded additional points based on that Intel (undisclosed until discovered)

How you lose points:

1. Casualties-Taking over a acceptable amount of these on a mission will lower the point value you would normally be awarded

2. Killing Civilians

3. Failing the mission- While this will not cause a mission to end if you fail you will lose 80% of that missions points value, Intel will still be awarded as normal

For more information on what you can buy and what things cost please visit the Titan Armory

In a short amount of time, we have really begun to open up the titan community, id like to first thank the BI staff for a great game and a great community. The response to what titan actually is has been amazing. It seems a lot of units and community members think we are just another co-op campaign and that couldn't farther from the truth. Our missions are not pre-set they evolve based on the decisions of units, EXAMPLE If unit A runs a mission and finds intel about and attack on unit B, then that attack doesn't happen. Yes our bad guys attack other units, they are controlled by a human "Game Master". How ever if unit A plays the same mission and does not find any intel about the attack it will carry out and affect the other unit. Now that that is cleared up theres tons more i could say but i wont waste any more time in this post. What we came here to do is WELCOME U.S.SOCOM CT-24 of the 5th Marines and Marine Special Operations Team (MSOT) to our campaign. We have now filled our special forces community and are now open to taking convetional units again please apply at www.operationtitan.us

We have found a new way to explain what operation titan really is, becuase it is so different i was at a loss to describe it to some people please check out this new description made by SGT S. Lewis of the 3rd Infantry Division. Please visit the site at www.operationtitan.us or email me directly for info. Our current units in Titan are 4SFG | MSOT 8211 | 42nd Air Assault | U.S.SOCOM | 5th Marines | 1st ID | 3rd ID | RCT 19 | Echo Company and more in the process if your unit is "elite" or the best show in Operation Titan Enjoy ~C. Daley~

Operation Titan is a massive, fictional ARMA 2 story campaign between two Theater Commanders (BLUFOR & OPFOR) and played out by multiple Realism Units totaling hundreds of players. Theater Commanders make strategic level decisions that create objectives for Unit Commanders. Unit commanders are tasked these objectives and make operational and tactical decisions within individual ARMA 2 missions that are executed by BLUFOR players against OPFOR AI. The outcomes of these missions will affect the overall campaign and subsequent missions. In between missions the campaign timeline is advanced and logistic & supply movements, strategic level troop maneuvers, and “ambient†combat are simulated. These simulated events also have the potential to affect the storyline, strategic map, and/or later objectives.

Each unit in the OP Titan campaign operates out of a unit-specific forward base, the location of which is chosen by the unit commander (with respect to story and/or strategic limitations). The unit commander is allowed to purchase vehicles, aircraft, and equipment from the limited and unit specific Titan Armory. In the OP Titan campaign, if a unit does not have a dedicated vehicle/aviation detachment then they are not allowed to purchase that specific equipment. A unit is not allowed to purchase a vehicle for which it does not have a dedicated detachment. However, a unit is allowed to ask for assistance within an op from other units that do have the desired detachment and have purchased the desired vehicle.

Operation Titan uses a points based system to manage vehicles and equipment. Points are awarded or penalties incurred based on mission outcomes. Units can also lose points due to story events.

How units earn points:

1. Monthly allocation - every month units are awarded 100 points by the U.S Military to help cover campaign upkeep

2. Missions - Each mission will have a points value associated with it. These points are awarded for successful mission completion.

3. Finding Intelligence - When a unit finds intel in the field and reports they will be awarded additional points based on that intel.

How units lose points:

1. Casualties - Incurring casualties over an acceptable limit will lower the point value awarded to the unit

2. Civilian casualties

3. Mission failure - If a units fails a mission they are awarded only 20% of the mission point value, intel will still be awarded as normal

Each month the Theater Commander hosts a “war room†with each individual unit. It is here in the “war room†that unit commanders are updated on story happenings, strategic level outcomes, and mission successes of other units. Unit commanders are advised of upcoming operations from which they choose with their respective command staff. Operations can vary from patrols, assaults & raids, civilian aid & assistance, and rescue missions. Once an op has been decided upon, the Theater Commander issues a WARNO and OPORD to each individual unit and custom-made ARMA 2 missions are created and tailored by OP Titan staff. In each mission only op relevant BLUFOR units & equipment, OPFOR units & equipment, and civilian units & items are placed. Each unit then develops their own OPORD and performs their op on the operational and tactical level with minimal input from Theater Command. After the op the unit command submits an After Action Report (AAR) detailing the happenings during the mission -- these details would include: BLUFOR/OPFOR KIA & WIA, equipment losses, civilian deaths, found intel, and overall mission success. After this the campaign is updated and the process repeats.
