deskoft 1 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) NOTE: OUR SERVER DOES NOT SIMULATE THE US ARMY, THE SERVER SIMULATES AN ARMY WITH LIMITED BUDGET (EVERY CAR IS BOUGHT WITH WHAT WE CALL 'RP BUDGET', THEREFORE EXPECT, FOR EXAMPLE, SNIPERS USING DRAGUNOVs AND SIMILAR EQUIPMENT). THIS IS AN ARMA 2 (ORIGINAL VERSION) SERVER WITH COMPLETELY CUSTOM-MADE MAPS. WHO ARE WE? Lawedan Armed Forces is the official army unit of the Chedaki Islands (Utes & Chernarus). We aim to reach a level of total realism within Arma 2 (and Arma 3 in the future). We aim to give those who can't join the army in real life the possibility to enjoy that experience in the game, although in a different fashion (we manage LAF as a real army, therefore our trainings have different methods than, for example, the US or the British Army. We have similar tactics though, like the MOUT). WHAT ROLES ARE THERE IN LAF? That's the funny part, there's every single role you can imagine. We want you to be able to enforce whatever you want to be. Therefore we give you the possibility to pick any AIT from the US Army MOS (in this case we do use the US Army MOS List). We script it in, we create the AIT and then set you up. BASIC COMBAT TRAINING? Of course! We have created our own version of the BCT. This combines a lot of the known methods of all-around-the-globe armies to train their own soldiers, they are quite demanding and we even have records for them! Here, regardless your AIT election, you are instructed every single of the methods the LAF use, this includes both teamwork-based skills and individual-based skills. OPERATIONS We train on Utes, on what we call our central base. This "map" or "base" is ONLY visited on the recruitment seasons (when we require new privates), but after that the server is passworded and we go to the central server at Chernarus. Here we all have something to do, from guard, transporting ammunation to actually doing operations. Our script is one of the most advanced scripts in the Arma 2 community due to the experience of our scripters in both Arma 2 and several other games (we have created succesful roleplaying servers at SAMP for three years). All operations have a certain level of logistics and to improve the realism, there's even AI units assisting you. (In a infantry operation IRL you're never alone, you have other units also doing missions). But the squad you join will always be completely human-based, we encourage human teamwork! He will first come IG to tour you around, then if you pass the initial tests (mental, maturity and patience) you will be set into a promotion and given a schedule training time (based on your time capabilities, you pick your times, if you are absent you can excuse yourself and there will be no punishments).
