pooroldspike 129 Posted April 3, 2013 Hi, my AA2 recently began freezing after about 10 minutes of play, needing a power switch-off to get out of it to reboot. It started happening about the time my Google Earth auto-updated itself to version 7.0.2, so I uninstalled GE and installed an earlier GE v 5.2.0 and found that AA2 ran fine again without freezing. Apparently GE v 7.0.2 was the culprit, it must have done something to my system that AA2 didn't like, so I've switched off the auto-updates and will stick with GE v 5.2.0. I only mention it in case other people are experiencing freezes and they might want to consider the possibility that GE might be to blame.

pooroldspike 129 Posted April 12, 2013 Aargh it turns out the main cause of my freezes was probably overheating, I took my PC into the comp shop and they said something about the paste between two components had gone brittle with age and lost its heat-insulation properties, so they re-pasted it (for 39 GBP/60USD ouch) and the freeze problem seems to be cured.
