Is there any way to get rid of the backspace command?

Recommended Posts

I'm using VAC (voice activated commands) to control my sqaud about and i'm getting a very frustration problem. For some reason every few seconds my mic is picking up something and activating the backspace command key. I've tried everything to adjusting the mic and speaker volumes to making a new vac profile from scratch, nothing works. It seems the backspace command key is hardcoded and can't be reassigned to something else. Is there anyway around this?

You can change the activation phrase to something other than what appears to be causing the problem. Delete your current phrase that is causing the problem and being confused with background noise. I use the phrases Cancel, Disregard, and abort or double phrase like, cancel order or press backspace. You can also edit and teach your current phrase so it may be clearer to the computer. Double click on your current activation phrase and in the popup, click the "say" button then say the phrase then press stop. You may find that will so the trick. :)

Thanks. Trouble is i've been through the whole VAC profile and there isn't a backspace command anywhere in it. It seems it's the ingame radio voices that cause it to happen so the only work around I have is to turn the ingame voice volume right down so it doesn't pick it up.

OK......the command maybe something else other than "backspace" look for something that may resemble something similar to my command phrases I mentioned above....or click on each command and look for the backspace key setting on the command box on the right....then when you find it the Phrases will be listed on the phrase menu on the left bottom. Or you can print out a command and phrase list into notepad and look there for the corresponding command and phrase. Its in the menus along the top. Other recommendation is to make sure you use mic and headset so there are no open sounds as it works far better that way and the mic wont hear game sounds. Alternatively you can program a push to talk key so the system is only active for the time you hold the push key in.

Remember the entire profile can be changed and edited to your preferences or phrases. I generally have 3 or 4 phrases that press the same key so I just use natural orders and dont have to try and remember a single phrase or command just whatever comes into my head in the heat of battle and I generally have it covered. ie.....for get down I may have "get down", "stay low" "get low" "hit the dirt" Hit the ground" and all those phrases activate the on command. Its worth your time to read through the help file at least once to get a real feel for the power of VAC.
