Saliiim 10 Posted March 16, 2013 Hi Chaps I was wondering if there is a GTA 4 style video recorder/editor mod for ARMA 3 Alpha, or indeed ARMA 2. It would be really nice to use for my Youtube channel and all of that delicious stuff. If you aren't aware of what I mean, GTA4 has a very nice video recorder that effectively saves the scene when you press F2, it saves the previous 30 seconds or so. Then in the video editor you can do some really funky stuff such as moving the camera, adding filters, and changing the speed of the video (for some Slow motion drama). Has this been modded into ARMA 2, and if so, has it been ported into ARMA 3's alpha? Thanks in advance Sal
HorbeySpector 164 Posted March 16, 2013 no it has not been modded so far, and I strongly doubt if it will ever be.
Saliiim 10 Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) I thought as much. I wish more games had such great video editors, have you got any suggestions of how I could make some more cinematic videos of ARMA? Edited March 16, 2013 by Saliiim
HorbeySpector 164 Posted March 16, 2013 you could try something in the editor with Camera.sqs not sure if it works for arma 3 though.
Saliiim 10 Posted March 18, 2013 That does work in ARMA 3, I tried it once, I hadn't thought of it though. Thanks.
Brain 12 Posted March 18, 2013 Well, not really what you mean but you can always use UnitCapture...
Saliiim 10 Posted March 27, 2013 Is this the command that saves a unit's movement and allows an AI to follow it? I used this once for some low helicopter flying, not what I am looking for, but really awesome none the less, if you can fly the aircraft in the first place. Brain 12 Posted March 28, 2013 I asked this inside the Armaholic forums a while ago. At least in ArmA 2 there was no way to record (infantry-)units like that, especially not inside an easy Video Editor like its "The Movies" or GTA. UnitCapture is quite complex and not for infantry, but it's the only way of recording it. Only other ways are frustrating around with AI or using friends as actors.
