What does support for Java mean?

Recommended Posts

I'm not much of a programmer, but Java support for ARMA 3 is good enough reason for me to start somewhere.

But what does Java support really mean? Does this mean integrated mod tools into the ARMA III editor? In-game menus for custom missions? Added functionality to gameplay?

If someone could explain, that would be great.

No

In-game menus for custom missions?

Can already do that quite fine

Added functionality to gameplay?

Not really sure how to answer that as it's an ambiguous question.

It means you'll be able to use java instead of sqf for scripting.

In my opinion, Java is a OOP, if BI is not stupid this sense should be applied to the mission editor and Modding, in the sense that there can be reduced to half of the code using inheritance and writing clean code than sqf/cpp
