EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted July 10, 2002 As long as we're talking about good old computer hardware, I figured I'd post my setup I'm going to buy. Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted July 10, 2002 YOu people shouldnt have so speedy machines, it is gonna take a while till there are any games on the market that really challenge them. You advance to quickly. Another question, what would you improve first? Or what is more urgent? first choice) Upgrade the processor PIV1.3 to lets say 2.0 second choice) upgrade the videocard Ati Radeon 64DDR to Asus V8200 T5 Deluxe (or MSI G 4Ti 4600 VTD) And residuum! That is cheap indeed, but why do you need a new floppy and a new case? Dont you like recycle your old one? I got my screen (21) AcerG991 for only 150$ from a store because they thought I buy computers for a company and will return (I showed them the business card of the consulting department of my faculty lol) Â . Of course they also wanted to get rid of that screen, no question.
EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted July 10, 2002 I'd go with the video card just because I don't think the difference between a 1.3 and a 2 would really matter much for todays games. However a good video card could really boost FPS. But I only have a 667 celeron right now with a Radeon 32mb sdr. So pretty much anything would be a huge increase in performance for me.
