I need help, keg's, scorpio, gfx evis

Recommended Posts

Hi I am Dmitry, and i go by desantnik, I am intrested in making my own model and not whining about it to one of you. I need some help to get started, okay I have milk shape, depbo and have been using them for some time with no big result... just tinkering. Well today I wanted to make a russian world war two soldier and I have no idea how to texture it or what I need to do, I have figured out the cpp files and the hrud and nogy jpgs but not the others and all but I would like to know what to do to retexture a soldier to russian ww2 uniform, help would be appreciated and now with resistance a partisan campaign is more feasible than ever. I really would like to learn how and not to bother you but I need to know what I need to do,

for 1 what is p3d and where can I download the plug in for that to work in milkshape.

2 what textures do I need and can somebody list me an inventory of what each file like hrud and nogy means in english or Russian

3 anyhelp with finding uniforms on the internet is appreciated, not black and white pics though.

Thanks in advance, if all goes well I might release this..... it probably wont but its a start.

For simple modelling - i suggest you get milkshape - which you have. to come on more advanced challenging projects you can get 3DS Max, but that costs money.

p3d is the model format OFP uses in models. There are 2 types of p3d - MLOD and OLOD.

You need P3D2OBJ AND OBJ2P3D. Get them from http://ofp.info in the utilities section.

You can only open demo models, which are MLOD (i think:))

So dont go and de-pbo the SU-25 and expect to get an opened model.

If you want demo models - go to http://ofp.info/evix and download Vixer's demo p3d file pack.

So you are set - open a demo p3d such as uaz.p3d with P3D20BJ, and it will convert the model format to .obj.

Open up Milkshape and Import Wavefront OBJ, select your file. You can then edit the model with milkshape and when finished, use OBJ2P3D to convert it back to P3D. you then need a config.cpp file and thats it, you have a working model.

If you want texture tutorials go to http://ofpec.com and download the texture tutorial.

Hope this helps.:)
