TonyTheBean 1 Posted January 13, 2013 This problem just started all of a sudden and I've never had this problem before. Before you say, its not my network because I tried tethering through my phone and had the same problem. I have also tried re-installing the game, re-installing all traces of battleye, and re-installing the beta. Running windows 8 if it helps.
SnowSky 12 Posted January 13, 2013 Hi and welcome to the forum. my magical crystal ball was not able to get enough details about your game, so I will ask you a few questions: Are we talking about ArmA 2? ArmA 2 OA? ArmA 2 CO? What version do you have? everything up to date? Do you use the beta? (I guess yes, and thats also why I assume you use CO) Are mods active in your game? Most servers? Which servers do not work (some examples), and which work (some examples too)? Do you get any additional informations? Are there errormessages also while starting the game? Do you have a friend who plays too? If so, you may ask him to get on the server you want, and then he looks while you connect and get the connection failed message, if the server reports any reason why the connection failed. I had one time a problem, where I had connection failed, but the reason was not called. I was lucky my mate was on the server already, and he told me that there was a corrupt file reported. I'm having the problem on ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA. It happens on both my laptop and desktop. Everything is up to date, and I don't play with mods. It seems to be only servers that aren't dedicated. And no errors on startup. I did get it to work last night on OA, but as soon as i installed ArmA 2 it stopped working. I'll ask a friend if there is an error message when I try again tonight. SnowSky 12 Posted January 26, 2013 Can you copy the last gamesession log out of the arma2oa.rpt? // Should be located in C:\users\<your username>\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA\ in Win7, or (not all sure about) WinXP C:\Documents and settings\<your username>\Local settings\Applicationdata\ArmA 2\ Also, did you install/update any Firewall/AV with integrated Firewall, or change router? Are you portforwarding? I had one time a router to my subnetwork (computer was in the subnetwork behind that one), and when I wanted to join a server, I had to remove the port forwarding (got nat error)). using another router didn't have the problem. TonyTheBean 1 Posted January 27, 2013 Right now I'm using a PFsense box for my firewall, and that isn't showing anything blocked. My microsoft AV and firewall are both off. Here is my .rpt file http://tony.pastebay.com/1177843
babyloncome 3 Posted January 27, 2013 Also ensure you install the games in the correct order, otherwise certain required files will be overwritten: 1. Install Arma2 2. Install OA - this will patch Arma2 to 1.06 3. Install OA patch 1.62 - this will patch Arma2 and OA to current versions 4. Run OA shortcut (for disc) or CO shortcut on Steam 6. Connect to server.
