26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable)

1) ABOUT THE 26TH MEU

1.1 Introduction

  • 26th MEU(SOC) is an ArmA II Realism Unit based off real life military experiences and based on Realism within the ArmA II Engine.
  • 26th utilizes real U.S.M.C., Organization, and Disciplinary measures (U.C.M.J.) within the unit to ensure the strictest realism and respect for the real United States Marine Corps and the men and women within it.
  • The 26th MEU is a Marine Expeditionary Unit, with access to the best technology and weaponry the Marine Corps has to offer - M1A1 Main Battle Tanks, AV-8B Harrier Fighter jets, AH-1Z Zulu Cobra attack helicopters, MV-22B Osprey's, and more!

1.2 Enlisting

Enlisting in the 26th is easy! Go to our website (www.26thmarines.webs.com), find the Recruitment Forum and file your application. Enlisting can take from one day to one week, dependent on the information on your application. Requirements to join - 16 (members under the age limit must be recommended by your Recruiter in the 26th). Once you have enlisted, you face a one to two week wait on average for the next Basic Training Class (1.3.1). Basic Training Classes usually consist of 4-12 Rct's, who will stay together in the same class throughout BCT.

1.2.1 The Veterans Program

For applicants that claim they are military veterans in real life, and can prove their veterancy via discharge papers, active duty documents, military documents, or pictures that can be verified as them, we have a program after Basic Training called the Veterans Program. This program is a one to two hour course that consists of questions on the military, organization, and combat experiences. If they pass this course, they will be inducted as a LCpl (Lance Corporal) into the unit.

1.2.2 Military Occupational Specialties

Military Occupational Specialty - what your job is within the unit. In the 26th, this is the definition of what you do in the unit. MOS's are there for a reason, and there isn't any MOS jumping. An infantry SGT won't go jump in a Cobra and light up some Taliban, and a pilot won't pick up an M16 and go attack an outpost with "Violater 1-1". MOS's are there to give organization and structure to the unit, and are respected and obeyed by all members.

1.2.3 Military Occupational Specialty Options

Primary MOS List:

[] 0311 Rifleman

[] 0369 Infantry Unit Leader

[] 1812 Main Battle Tank Crewman

[] 0313 LAV Crewman

2) WHAT WE DO

2.1 Trainings

Training is a cornerstone of the unit. It teaches our members to work together as a smooth team, builds leadership, and builds friendship.

2.1.1 Basic Combat Training

  • Basic Combat Training (BCT) is the first training in the 26th - and the only one that everyone goes through at one point. Basic Combat Training is meant to teach the basic recruit to work as a team with the members of his training class, because 90% of the time, he'll be assigned to the same squad as at least two of them.
  • BCT Classes usually consist of anywhere from 4 to 12 Rct's, who will stay together as a class all the way through Basic Combat Training. Classes areevery Thursday and Saturday at 1830CST and last until 2000CST, when Rct's are dismissed to the barracks.

2.1.2 Advanced Individual Training

Advanced Individual Training (AIT) is the refining of the skills you learned in BCT. Here, you learn how to properly fulfill your new role in the MOS you've chosen after BCT.

  • Infantry - learn more in-depth techniques of MOUT and CQB, as well as specialized weapons such as - M2 HMG, M4 SLAM, and Demolition Charges
  • Armor - learn how to operate your new battlewagon, the M1A2 Abrams tank
  • Aviation - flight school (AH-1Z, UH-1Y, MV-22B, AV-8B, F-35II[upcoming])

2.2 Unit Missions

Missions are what the 26th is about - not one week in the life of the unit will there not be at least one organized mission. The 26th prides itself

on an extremely realistic, organized gameplay style.

2.2.1 Primetime

Primetime is a time from about 1700CST (5:00PM Central US) to 1900CST (7:00PM Central US) when the unit as a whole gets on the server to play a

mission chosen by the highest ranking member on at that time. Mission types can be Insurgency, Assault and Secure, Domination, MSO, or player-made missions. This is a time for public players and unit members alike to test their skills and tactics in combat, as well as to sort out problems before major unit events that may be coming up.

Failure to attend primetime without posting a Leave of Absence report will result in punishment -

  1. First two offenses - reprimanded by 1st Line Leader
  2. Third and Fourth offenses - demerit, rank freeze for 30 days
  3. Fifth to Seventh offense - Article 15
  4. More than seven - Possible Discharge

2.2.2 Unit Operations

In the unit, the 26th runs private operations, or campaigns, also referred to as deployments. These campaigns are made by the S-3 department for use by the unit, and can range from a full-scale conventional invasion to an insurgency. It is up to the S-3 department alone to coordinate with command staff on a deployment idea, and then branch off to make it themselves. The men in command on the ground, for the most part, will have no idea of the tricks and scripts within the missions.

(If this thread's format appears similar to this one, it's because it's run by the same guys; just had a structural shift is all)
