Martines 1 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) 509TH PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT 1) ABOUT THE 509th PIR 1.1 Introduction 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment is an ArmA II: Combined Operations Realism Unit based off real life military experiences and based on Realism within the ArmA II Engine. 509th utilizes real U.S. Army Rank Structure, Organization, and Disciplinary measures within the unit to ensure the strictest realism and respect for the real United States Army and the men and women within it. The 509th PIR is a parachute infantry regiment, but we don't always jump out of C-130's. We utilize Stryker ICV's, HMMWV's, M1A2's, and a Combat Aviation Detachment (CAB). 1.2 Enlisting Enlisting in the 509th PIR is easy! Go to our website (www.509thpara.enjin.com), find the Recruitment Forum, Enlistment Office, and file your application. Enlisting can take from one day to one week, dependent on the information on your application. Requirements to join - 16 (members under the age limit must be recommended by your Recruiter in the 509th). Once you have enlisted, you face a one to two week wait on average for the next Basic Training Class(1.3.1). Basic Training Classes usually consist of 4-12 PVT's, who will stay together in the same class throughout BCT. 1.2.1 The Veterans Program For applicants that claim they are military veterans in real life, and can prove their veterancy via discharge papers, active duty documents, military documents, or pictures that can be verified as them, we have a program after Basic Training called the Veterans Program. This program is a one to two hour course that consists of questions on the military, organization, and combat experiences. If they pass this course, they will be inducted as a SPC (Specialist) into the unit. 1.2.2 Military Occupational Specialties Military Occupational Specialty - what your job is within the unit. In the 509th, this is the definition of what you do in the unit. MOS's are there for a reason, and there isn't any MOS jumping. An infantry SGT won't go jump in an Apache and light up some Taliban, and a pilot won't throw on some ACU's and go attack an outpost with "Violater 1-1". MOS's are there to give organization and structure to the unit, and are respected and obeyed by all members. 1.2.3 Military Occupational Specialty Options Primary MOS List: [] 11B Infantryman (Includes specialized infantry roles) [] 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman (81mm or 60mm Mortar Team) [] 152H AH-64D Attack Helicopter Crewman *CLOSED* [] 153E MH-60 Transport Helicopter Crewman *CLOSED* [] 154C CH-47F Transport Helicopter Crewman *CLOSED* [] 19K M1A2 Main Battle Tank Crewman *CLOSED* [] 31B Military Police *CLOSED* Secondary MOS List: [] 46Q Public Affairs Specialist [] 92R Parachute Rigger [] 92Y Unit Supply Specialist [] 79R Recruiting NCO *Only Available to Current NCO's [] 79S Career Counselor *Only Available to Current NCO's [] 79V Recruiting and Transition NCO *Only Available to Current NCO's [] 25M Multimedia Illustrator [] 25C Combat Radio Operator *Apply after BCT 2) WHAT WE DO 2.1 Trainings Training is a cornerstone of the unit. It teaches our members to work together as a smooth team, builds leadership, and builds friendship. 2.1.1 Basic Combat Training Basic Combat Training (BCT) is the first training in the 509th - and the only one that everyone goes through at one point. Basic Combat Training is meant to teach the basic recruit to work as a team with the members of his training class, because 90% of the time, he'll be assigned to the same squad as at least two of them. BCT Classes usually consist of anywhere from 4 to 12 PVT's, who will stay together as a class all the way through Basic Combat Training. Classes are every Saturday at 1200CST and last until 1330CST, when PVT's are dismissed to the barracks until primetime-2.2.1) that evening. Basic Training consists of three phases before Graduation - R.E.D. - Rank Structure, Courtesies, Confidence Obstacle Course, Formations, Radio Communications, Unit SOP's and Rules B.L.U.E. - Rifle Qualifications, Weapons Training, Combat Drills, Live Fire Exercises, Fastroping W.H.I.T.E. - Airborne School, Air Assault School, MOUT, CQB, Combat Drills, Live Fire Exercises Graduation - Unit Wide Event 2.1.2 Advanced Individual Training Advanced Individual Training (AIT) is the refining of the skills you learned in BCT. Here, you learn how to properly fulfill your new role in the MOS you've chosen after BCT. Infantry - learn more in-depth techniques of MOUT and CQB, as well as specialized weapons such as - M2 HMG, M4 SLAM, and Demolition Charges Armor - learn how to operate your new battlewagon, the M1A2 Abrams tank Aviation - flight school (MH-60, CH-47F, AH-64D, AH-6J) 2.2 Unit Missions Missions are what the 509th is about - not one week in the life of the unit will there not be at least one organized mission. The 509th prides itself on an extremely realistic, organized gameplay style. 2.2.1 Primetime Primetime is a time from about 1700CST (5:00PM Central US) to 1900CST (7:00PM Central US) when the unit as a whole gets on the server to play a mission chosen by the highest ranking member on at that time. Mission types can be Insurgency, Assault and Secure, Domination, MSO, or player-made missions. This is a time for public players and unit members alike to test their skills and tactics in combat, as well as to sort out problems before major unit events that may be coming up. Failure to attend primetime without posting a Leave of Absence report will result in punishment - -First two offenses - reprimanded by 1st Line Leader -Third and Fourth offenses - demerit, rank freeze for 30 days -Fifth to Seventh offense - Article 15 -More than seven - Possible Discharge 2.2.2 Unit Operations In the unit, the 509th runs private operations, or campaigns, also referred to as deployments. These campaigns are made by the S-3 department for use by the unit, and can range from a full-scale conventional invasion to an insurgency. It is up to the S-3 department alone to coordinate with command staff on a deployment idea, and then branch off to make it themselves. The men in command on the ground, for the most part, will have no idea of the tricks and scripts within the missions. 3) TECHNOLOGY of the 509th 3.1 Modpack The 509th uses a relatively mid-sized modpack to keep our operations realistic and refreshingly new to our members. The modpack is 7GB, large by some accounts, small by others. It consists mainly of maps, which we use for training and missions. 3.1.1 Modpack List Modpack: @ace - very large @acex - large @acex_ru - medium @acex_usnavy - small @acex_pla - medium @acre - small @jayarma2lib_new - small @mcn_hazarKot - medium @clafghan - large @opx_objects - small @razmisc - small @mbg_Testfield - large @mbg_celle - large @mbg_celle2 - large @mbg_buildings3 - small @mb_objects - small @asr_ai - small @jtd - small Join the 509th PIR today, and take part in some of the most realistic combat experiences in ArmA II!
