Dajunka 10 Posted September 28, 2012 (edited) You cannot redefine certain keys such as arrow keys because they are used by a poxy xbox controller. I don't have a poxy xbox. I thought this problem had been solved in Beta2, why has it returned now? After looking forward to this day, this s**t has just ruined it. ---------- Post added at 03:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:36 PM ---------- I don't understand, why is the pc version of CC optimized for a xbox controller? And why can I not do a simple thing like reconfigure my directional controls to the arrow keys? I am left handed and need this. Suranis 1 Posted September 28, 2012 can you disable the xbox controler?
Dajunka 10 Posted September 28, 2012 can you disable the xbox controler? There is a option to enable/disable joypad (joypad preferred) but that is greyed out. There is no other option that I can see. This was a problem in the early betas that was solved in beta 3, I don't know why they have reintroduced it. I know they are going to get a lot of stick over it when the masses start buying. Suranis 1 Posted September 28, 2012 I'll see if I can alter it when I finally get to play.
Dajunka 10 Posted September 28, 2012 I am trying to hack the 'ccsettings file.' I can get rid of the xbox crap, but it keeps messing the mouse controls and escape key up. I could really do with a DEVS help to hack it in the right places.
Johny 25 Posted September 28, 2012 Try removing <key code="left" action="padleft"/> <key code="right" action="padright"/> <key code="up" action="padup"/> <key code="down" action="paddown"/> from the <General> section of the ccsettings.xml in your documents

I thought that it had worked, I was able to remap the arrow keys, but then it changed my left and right to mouse left and right and I cannot change it back. Bugger. Johny 25 Posted September 28, 2012 If you delete you ccsettings.xml in your documents and then run the game, it will restore the default settings from your installation. (Alternatively these default settings are stored as ccsettings.xml in your installation folder so you can copy those to your documents to get back to defaults)

(Alternatively these default settings are stored as ccsettings.xml in your installation folder so you can copy those to your documents to get back to defaults) Done that, back to defaults, but deleting those 4 key codes always has the same result, changes left and right to mouse left and right. I don't have a clue how to stop it from doing that. ---------- Post added at 06:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 PM ---------- Wait, it does work. Even though it says mouse left and right, left & right arrows and mouse still worked separately - Mouse banks arrows strafe. What a extraordinary control setup BI. Thanks again. :) Now I can play.
