New Arma2 CO admin help needed

Our community has purchased an Arma2 Combined Operations server and I am trying to get up to speed on its setup and configuration.

The server is running just fine and I have spent some time looking at the server.cfg and reading a few of the wiki articles.

Our most pressing issue is how to add MPmissions and how to load them via the in game admin.

For example I have downloaded WarfareV2_071LiteCO.Chernarus.pbo and added it to the MPMissions directory via ftp.

Then I enter the game and login as the admin. From that point I can select Missions and Chernarus and then the mission is available but it will not load. Instead the game chooses one of the other default maps in the rotation.

Is there mission compatibility issues or something else prohibiting the use of some maps?

Is there some way to tell in advance?

We would like to get a nice variety of mission available for our guys to choose from ranging in size and scope.

Any advice or links to related tutorials or guides would be much appreciated.

If I remember correctly, the server will do this if the mission you try to load requires an addon that is not installed server side. In your case, the server may not be loading Combined Operations. I'm not certain that this is the problem as it's been over a year since I had similar issues, I would suggest you create a two missions - one that requires A2 files and the other OA, then test on the server.

IS there any way to tell if my server is loading CO and not just OA or A2?

When I look at the install via ftp I see OA in the base directory and arma2 in a sub directory.

I did some tests. I added the mission to my local install of Arma2 OA and it runs just fine under multiplayer.

I went to Christian Gamers Online and looked at their setup. It appears to be vanilla (no mods).

I created a new arma2 CO server on our dedicated server and installed just the desired mission. It still would not load. The server bypasses the mission I selected and instead jumps to the next default mission in the servers rotation.

I figured it out.

The server was not , by default, running Combined Ops..

To specify mods for the server to load when it starts, please use the blank below. For example, to run a Combined Ops server, use arma2;expansion;ca

Restarting the server in this manner fixed the mission loading issues.
