Switching a mission from it's current map to a new map.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I would like to switch my mission from it's current map, to our new map. Although, I tried merging but it didn't work? How would you go about doing this?

You can copy/paste all the units from one to another, save as the new map then copy any scripts over in the editor folders. You'll of course need to move all your units around to new places and adjust any of their waypoints and the like. Usually this is more trouble than it's worth, except for static things like the player units or something.

How would I copy and paste the units exactly? Please Clarify :)

Drag a box around the whole map, hover over any unit and hit Ctrl-C. Load your new map and Ctrl-V. Then spend hours rearranging every unit, marker, waypoint and trigger.

Or spend 20 minutes re-doing what you had on the other map from scratch. :)

You most certainly can.

Do remember about scripts though, they'll be under: C:\Users\kylania\Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\kylania\missions\photos.Desert_E for example. If you switched the mission from "photos" on Desert to "photos" on Takistan you'd need to copy any SQF files or folders from the photos.Desert_E folder into the new photos.takistan folder. Not the mission.sqm file (that's the map essentially) but anything else like init.sqf or anything you created for the other mission.

Gotcha, thank you. I appreciate it
