Force-firing on uh-1s

I'm making a 'nam-style mission where your UH-1 is supposed to get shot down by enemy gunners with PKs or RPDs (from SEB's nampack). Well the big problem is... the MGers won't shoot! Not by themselves nor with the DoFire command. So I tried DoFire'ing them on a soldier inside, sitting exposed inside the chopper, but that doesn't work neither.

Now how do I get the machinegunners to fire at the Hueys?

You could try making a script to simulate the firing! Or do you need to see the machine gun fire at it?

I *bump* this topic, because i hope someone will have the solution.

I am very interested by this : how to force an unit to fire to something (unit, vehicle, object) in the editor.

dofire work perfectly if the AI know the target can be destroyed by its shot

But if an unit as the case of AntiPasta scenario, want to fire to a big vehicule and dont have explosives , they will refuse.

The same problem , when i want by the editor a unit/vehicule to fire to an invisible H : they refuse.

To force fire, i already tried this

-create a M17 flying ,i name it helico

-create a soldier machinegunner

in the soldier init , i typed

this dotarget helico; this fire "M60"

the result is the unit will prone , will begin to target the M17 , and they fire only one bullet sad.gif (it is usefull for A10 LGB bombing, with avion Fire "LaserGuidedBombLauncher" in a trigger by example , but it doesnt work good for soldier)

but if i type

this dotarget helico; this dofire helico

logically , the unit will target then fire at the M17 , but no.....

the machinegunner will just prone and target the M17

BTW, i already know that if i dont want the IA to prone, type this instead

this setunitpos "UP"; this dotarget helico .....etc etc

As you see i dont have the good way to force a soldier to fire to something even if he hasnt got a chance to destroy it.

So , if someone has the good answer , help wink.gif

tryed entering the same thing again and again? You could copy + paste + paste + paste + paste!

well now I downloaded SEBs targetable 'nam helos, supposed to be fired upon by MGs, but it still doesn't work!
