StrykerBrigade119 1 Posted July 30, 2012 About Us Expanded Firstly we have our own server! It can be found by filtering for 119 or by IP: 96.8.115.130 Port:2802 It runs mainly Takistan Domination and MSO and we are working on insurgency and other custom maps. What We Do: The 119th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) is a "Realism Unit" playing the military simulation game Armed Assault II. What that means is we do our best to emulate a United States Army organizational structure to the best of our ability and take realism while playing as far as we can go. While striving for realism, we have to walk a fine line between playability and doing things in a way that will utilize the Combat Team as a whole to efficiently and strategically complete objectives. We have taken many aspects of the U.S. Army and made them our own such as rank structure and training. In the Combat Team people have to earn their promotions by being an active part of the team. While we can not give members the same training as the U.S. Army for obvious reasons, however we use real training documents to aid us in being the best virtual soldiers we can be. From basic infantry to leadership classes all of our material is created carefully, we select the parts or real world documentation that we can use to aid us in creating our training our training. The Combat Team is based on a fictional Army Brigade, the 19th Cavalry. This fictional brigade is supported by other fictional units. While these units are fictional in name they are based on real world Army organizational structure. So while the Combat Team may be rooted around the fictional Hotel Company, 3rd Battalion, 19th Cavalry Brigade; it's organizational structure is that of a real world Army mobile infantry company. What You Can Expect: Once you have decided to join the unit, you will go through various stages of training to help you become the best virtual soldier you can be. You start with Basic Orientation and Combat training eventually you will take a specialized course in your chosen MOS. Once placed into your new home whether it be an 11B Infantryman or a 154A Pilot, you will meet many new people and make friends from many walks of life including current and past servicemen. As a member of the Combat Team you will be expected to comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the Command Staff, and be a mature and engaging part of the unit. While there is much to learn and do here in the Combat Team you must never forget that we are here to have fun and be apart of a large group who all share a common desire to play games in a social environment. While we take the virtual battlefield seriously, we all like to relax and play other games when not dodging bullets. In Short: We are a group of gamers that enjoy playing ArmA II using tactics and team work. We also enjoy the company of our fellow gamers and enjoy playing other games as well. Our members come from all walks of life, social and economical backgrounds; what we share is a love of gaming and being part of a team. What we are looking for in potential members: Think for your self The ability to think for your self and make proper judgments is key not only to an ordinary fire team member, but also to those who are looking to eventually lead. Basing your decisions purely off what others think is the wrong way to go. Individuals We are looking for individuals, not bodies. Every person is unique and it is that individuality that makes us a diverse and fun place to be. Listeners Knowing when its time to be serious and follow orders is key, but it is also important to know when to take your boots off and relax. As long as you can listen and understand what is required of you of the virtual battlefield the time you spend playing other games can be spent without orders or adhering to rank. Respect always applies. Respect Respect is a big thing, and it's also a two way street. Respect your self and those around you. Motivation Be motivated to play arma, do the best you can and have a goal, whether it is to lead a fire team or lead a platoon we will try our best yo help you stay motivated and reach your goal. But the bulk of the work will be left up to you, because only you can get you where you want to go. If you think you fit the bill then come join us. raider6.enjin.com
StrykerBrigade119 1 Posted January 11, 2013 After a good holiday stand down the 119th SBCT is swinging back into action this year. We have made friends with a Canadian realism unit and plan on doing joint missions and operations in near future which we are very much looking forward to, however we will always remain an independent unit and have no plans on merging or joining with anyone. The SBCT has continued experience slow but steady growth over the past couple of months and is currently working on a new map mode called Asymmetrical Warfare which combines parts of the popular MSO and Insurgency modes into a new hybrid type which we are very excited about. 2013 looks very good for us as we continue to grow and open new sections of the unit. We are currently considering opening a very competitive two man scout sniper team and other additions to the unit, which will come slowly. As always we are constantly looking for new ways to get involved in the ARMA community and make new friends, if you are interested in joining or working out the details of a joint mission feel free to check us out as we move forward into 2013.
