Problem with Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead- Error/Crash when starting the game

Hello everyone,

I have a possibly very common problem with Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead and this problem is very hard to solve for me.

The error I`m having says, that the "ArmA 2 Reinforcements" had a problem and had to be stopped immediately.

So I watched for a solution to this issue and I found out, that I had to delete a data called "dsound.dll"-- anyway, I don't even have that data in either of these Arma 2 games. (maingame and addon)

Then I saw, that I had to put "-noautoupdate" into the name of the shortcut whicht i had from the game-exe.

I don't know, perhaps I have done that wrong but I tried it several ways:

##Shortcut ArmA2OA-noautoupdate.exe## ##Shortcut ArmA2OA.exe-noautoupdate## ##Shortcut ArmA2OA-noautoupdate.exe-noautoupdate##

I tried it these three Ways, but it didn`t ever work.

A few information for you:

-I bought the combined operation pack at steam (which includes Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead)

-I have Windows XP

-Uninstalling and installing again is no solution, I tried it several times, I even uninstalled and deleted the rest of the datas, which could have stayed on my computer, as carefully as possible by using the ccleaner (if anybody knows that program).

-I tried to patch the games to version 1.6, but that also did not help

-checking the files (steam-function) also does not help

I hope, that somebody knows that problem and can help me.
