Crazed Killa 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Wouldn't it be kind of pointless to send like 50 guys straight to there deaths? Wouldn't just one mechinized squad be better for a lvl like this and maybe a sniper?
Krull SGC 0 Posted November 14, 2001 That mission is cool, though it is a shame that all of the US troops get taken out pretty quickly. I was left on my own to take out the entire counter-attack, and it got kinda hard when the armor turned up, though 4 well placed laws sorted that, it was just dealing with a two prong infantry attack, I could have done with the help of the others. Gaswell 1 Posted November 14, 2001 Easy mission. My squad lost only one man, and I counted only five casualties in the other squads (at least one to friendly fire). I just sat behind some sand bags and watched as four machine gunners stopped the enemy advance again and again. Whenever an enemy machine gunner opened up, I'd lay down some fire on him with my M16. Of course, it helped that both the M1A1 and the Bradley survived the initial attack. Everon isn't really the place to come walking slowly into a fortified position. I had preferred an assault with maybe recon elements, 3 or 4 squads, a tank platoon, CAS, and support (medevac/AAA).
Damage Inc 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Lags a lot on my machine (not unsurprisingly). I shot one of my own guys because of that (and got shot by the others)
Rick Nieuwenhuis 0 Posted November 14, 2001 the initial assault is easy but then. the enemy soldiers where knocked out pretty fast by our machine gunners but our armor support was killed by enemy tanks and a few lucky shots killed most of my squad. i borrowed a M60 and managed to kill most remaining infantry, then i picked up some laws and took out all armor. but i didnt noticed the enemy infantry attacking me on my left flank and i got shot from behind by a spetz-nats soldier. Crazed Killa 0 Posted November 16, 2001 Im not sure if anyone noticed this but when the second all the russian armor comes in there is a russian sniper followed by a soldier that starts sniping to the left of the sandbag fences like 150 m away.
DaisyCutter 0 Posted November 16, 2001 Good mission. Only problem I had was with friendlies running into my line of fire. Actually had one run infront of me when I fired off the LAW. Was zoomed in and couldn't see him until it was too late. Took out myself and about 6 others. Heh
WhoCares 0 Posted November 16, 2001 @Crazed Killa: Don't talk about this d*amned sniper! I took out the armored counter attack at least 10 times and got suddenly shot right after this. I hadn't the patience to check who killed me but reloaded immediatly till I gave it up for that evening - and then I saw him... Next time I had a RPG-round just with his name on it (Edited by WhoCares at 10:28 am on Nov. 16, 2001)
Projekt K 0 Posted November 16, 2001 The sniper got me twice after the initial assault. Takes you out fast if you're using a LAW on the enemy armour. So next time I kept ignoring orders to fall back into formation and went to find him after the first attack. Waited by the ammo crates until he appeared with his comrade and shot them nice and quick, then took his rifle and dealt with the Spetz Natz, etc. I liked the mission. Great atmosphere when you're running at the enemy in such numbers. Obviously behaves very differently each time you play it, too, as some seem to have been left with no armoured support, or with their squad gone, whereas I was lucky in that most of my side was alive after the first attack.
