K115 10 Posted March 6, 2012 Hello I'm considering with PC specs for dedicated server, and I found this PC CPU: Intel Core i5-2400S Quadcore/2.50GHz ~3.30GHz/L3 cache 6MB Graphic: Onboard Graphics HDD:500GB MotherBoard: Intel H61 Express chipset Micro ATX motherboard OS: Windows 7 I'm planning to play Multiplay with about 20people. Will this spec work fine? or any recommendation? thanks
Party3AH 0 Posted March 7, 2012 It will be OK, but depending of mission type and WAN channel you have.
MissileMoose 10 Posted March 8, 2012 If you insist on hosting from home then build your own, but you're going to be limited on the amount of players you can have with your connection speed. Typical fibre optic speeds will probably only just cut it. I would recommend renting a dedicated server with a 100MB upstream and downstream connection. Cheaper dedicated servers tend to use desktop hardware (which can be better for games) than actual server build hardware (Xeon CPUs ect). You'll also want a decent amount of bandwidth and storage.
