Tactical_Fail 10 Posted August 8, 2011 I just got back into PC gaming, bought this Arma 2 (avid console gamer for years, literally had never heard of this game). The version I have is 1.03.58834. I was about to install the 1.10 patch on the site till I noticed in the readme "ANY ORIGINAL VERSION OF ARMA 2 from 1.05". I have 1.03.58834. On the patch site: http://www.arma2.com/index.php?Itemid=20&option=com_rokdownloads&view=folder〈=en I can't tell what I should download. Not sure how patches work, do I have to use a patch that is "from 1.03.58834" or just one that covers the range, e.g. first get 1.00 to 1.09 then the main 1.10 one? kylania 568 Posted August 8, 2011 I'd get this patch to get up to date. You only need 1.10 if you're doing to play against ArmA2Free players as well. So first the 1-1.09 patch, then 1.10 patch.
Tactical_Fail 10 Posted August 8, 2011 I'd get this patch to get up to date. You only need 1.10 if you're doing to play against ArmA2Free players as well. That's funny, when I went into the multiplayer lobby, every server was running 1.10. So first the 1-1.09 patch, then 1.10 patch. So in general, patches don't have to be "from" the exact version I have, as long as my version is covered by the range?
Shadow NX 1 Posted August 9, 2011 Welcome to the Forums Tactical_Fail, hope you dont do any tactical fails here :D About patches, well kylania already summed it up, yet if you want to really enjoy ArmA2 get the Operation Arrowhead addon aswell especially as it adds more features than A2 ever had. Also patching is pretty easy with it, install A2, install Arrowhead, install latest patchb you can get for A2+AO=Combined Arms
