dakryn2 10 Posted July 12, 2011 I have so many questions about the editing but i am only going to ask 5. First of all how and can you span a downed unit with a medic working on him?? I am also working with the demo but i am soon to get Arma2 and O.A for steam. my name is ghillie360 for those who want to add me. Also i am new to scripting so a step step higly detailed tutorial on how to create scripts would be nice. I am also wondering how do you take off the vehichle voices? (When you set waypoints and every waypoint theyll say All Units move to Grid:032-678 or somthing like that). And last i would like to know to things, how to make mines explode when a vehichle goes over them and how to sript an ied i have tried before but it said it couldnt find the file a nice script with just an init script to activate it would be nice. And actually i have a sixth question how do you request an evac and how do you make a breifing so actually thats seven questions. KC Grimes 79 Posted July 12, 2011 Welcome to the community! You should definitely get A2 or OA/CO or even the ArmA 2 Free. Not so sure how limited the demo is when it comes to scripting. A few of your questions have been brought up multiple times on these forums. Use the Search button with some key words and I guarantee you'll find some answers. I say this because you won't learn anything if myself or anybody else just copy and pastes what to put where. demonized 20 Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) I have Arma 2 demo and O.A demo and i have been searching and have found some answers on scripting but never understood them right now i am capable of scripting things if you only need to type them in on the init box and i have been looking on youtube for certain tutorials like i really want to create an ied but it says it cant find the IEd.sqf and i have been doing everything theyr'e doing i know im probabaly missing somthing obvious though. the obvious is that you are missing the file IEd.sqf (script) in your mission folder in my documents. fyi: you should start with using descriptive threads when posting in this forum, if i wanted to search for any of the issues you are asking for a solution to, i would never think of searching for "I need help advanced editors please respond!!" its a forum rule btw. and btw, i would think 2 times before getting Arma on steam. many issues when using steam if you want mods, addons or anything usermade. at least thats what reported. i recomend a hardcopy (DVD) or get the game from sprocket, wich is digital hardcopy. take a look in the guide in my sig, that will get you started with editing and scripting, even if its old and for Arma1 (armed assault). demonized 20 Posted July 13, 2011 ;1980119']No problems if you do it right. that above is just spot on. if you are an average gamer with no or litlle PC skill, you will have issues, if youre more, youll probably be fine. a 2nd note is that steam patches is released 1 or a few days after the all the other users gets the official patches, but no big deal if you can wait.
