Sound problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I'm having problems with arma 2 sound after reseting my pc drive...

Somedays ago I reseted my pc and arma 2 does not play any sound..

Arma2 was instaled to D drive and C drive have been reseted

With the pc in hands I started to do the necessary

I've create a another regedit for arma, reinstaled my directx(9.0c). Well.. but arma2 still w/o any sound. Any suggestions? reinstaling the game is not an option for me =/

Only arma does not play any sound... Some people said to me that something is left in the regedit part... Since there is two keys for arma2 inside the regedit

[D:\Bohemia interactive\arma2] and [D:\Bohemia interactive Studios\arma2]

I could only "rebuild" the one that says "Bohemia interactive studios"..

Can anyone tell me what to do in the one that does not have the "studio"?

I don't know anymore what to do :S

Can anyone help me?

Thanks for your attention

Btw I'm using Windows XP :)

Do you have the proper sound drivers installed? Have you tried it with headphones? Updated to the latest patch?

Before the C drive got reseted everything was working.

yes, but with that I got the "bad serial number given in setup" problem.. this comes with the missing regedit, the regedit of arma was in C drive.. I did the regedit all over again and now it doesnt want to play sounds

So you reformatted C? The registry files for programs to operate properly are usually stored on drive C in the registry. You might have to re-install ArmA to get it to work properly now...

And let me guess, you got the game from the Green Man Games "promotion" for free?

Ok, well I read something in their (Green Man Gaming) forums about someone having the exact same issue.

But I'm thinking your going to have to re-install. The registry is very important for programs to run correctly. It would be possible, but time consuming to manually add the correct entries back into the registry. It just might have something to do with your sound problem...

Do you have your key available? Or is that on the box?

The key you used to activate the game...........key/serial are the same thing.

Do you have your serial key?

You get the "bad serial", correct? You've tried manually entering that into the registry?

Try re-installing your audio drivers to fix the audio.

About the registry yes, I've entered it manually( the game is running ).. ill try reinstalling the audio driver so :)

I just looked at my key in the registry and it looks as though you can't "manually" add them in as they are encrypted.

And you said you left everything at your mother's house? DVD, manual, case...everything?

I left there the dvds... The serial is encrypted to hexadecimal formart, I have my serial saved in that format too.

If the audio drivers don't work, the only thing I can think of is to reinstall ArmA when you can.

The only thing I can think of is to reinstall ArmA II, once you get the chance.

And you uninstalled the old drivers and restarted before reinstalling...correct?

After you uninstall and restart, it's a good idea to use Driver Sweeper as well. Don't uninstall drivers that you don't know what they are for, this is a powerful tool.

yeah that's a problem, even using that tool I got nothing... I guess I'll need to wait to reinstall the game =/
