seriously now, should i bother trying to model? keep in mind they r the first 2 things i've ever modelled. Also what do i need 2 do 2 these things next?

Was that in 3DS? If so, you've just made the breakthrough of texture mapping 3DS, lol.

Yeah, the Bomber looks quite kool, but not sure about that other plane. All you need to have is a few extra bits and bobs, and send it to somebody with oxy, and if they think its a good complex model, they'll make it for you.

The nose on the P38 isn't quite right. Have you got plan views of the aircraft set as viewpoint backgrounds? You'll find it a major help:

I dont think adding gears in GMAX have any logic, because you're going to add them in oxy anyway. What i suggest you do with the bomber is that you can put a small sidecone on the nose, so that you can direct the line of fire when you er.....fire. And also get a pic/blueprint of the plane and add some other textures.

peeps keep at it dude =) as you progress you learn new tricks and that.... ya first stuff will tend not to impress many ppls.. but ignor them "cozz ya are doing better than they are "

but hey look aqt me now ... 3-4 years down the track i am in the gameing bizz =)

but if ya keep at it, i would say in 2-3 month you will be makeing pretty decent stuff =)

also ... just keep at the models ya work on .... try to improve them... dont stop then make something else ....

few tips ... work on smaller things and try to add detail to them .. try diff modelling techniques and that ..... then move onto bigger things useing them new things ya learnt and that =)

anyway... I did have planes for both plans but for the P38 (top plane) i used the plans that Gmax's tutorial provided and to b honest they were pretty crap. The bomber is actually a YAK28 FIREBAR .

I've decided to take scorpios advice and leave the gears for now. Does anyone have any hints and tips for texturing coz i've never tried that b4 (as u can c as far as i've got is one colour

Say, Peeps...You're a resourcer for Operation:Stuph, aren't you? Would you fancy becoming a modeller as well? Because those models look pretty cool. And I'm not just saying that.

Quick and easy. Make a copy of your plan view and paint it. then slap it onto the object through the materials editor. My experience with GMAX is limited on this aspect so far. you seem to require a seperate image file for each object, but I may be wrong. So 1 file for the top of the wing, one for bottom, etc.

Can anyone confirm this?

since u guys r so kind and luvly i have played around with the YAK and i've made some adjustments. Note: wings have all b sorted out, i added i nice nosecone type thing and i've totally redone the engines coz b4 they looked abit crappy.

Wadi: No i ain't resourcer for (scrolls down) Operation:Stuph. I ain't even heard of it m8. Can anyone tell me what i write in an email to apply for oxygen? and to what address?
