Not starting properly with Win7 64bit!

I felt like re-installing old ArmA, but it never loads properly.

There are no error messages apart from "ArmA not responding" and just a black screen. Does anyone know what the problem is? I am currently in the process of patching it up to 1.18 to see if that makes any difference.

UPDATE: I have patched to 1.18 and everything works beautifully so far!
