sammole 10 Posted October 3, 2010 Hi Guys, Im sorry if this has been posted before but i was unable to find it. My issue is that i want a helicpoter to drop me into a town and then leave again, now i want it to be fast, MiniBird style, but the problem is they take about 5 hours to position and land no matter what i do. kylania 568 Posted October 3, 2010 You can try a trick mentioned in another thread where you put the waypoint they are landing at PAST the helipad they'll be landing on, they seem to glide in smoother that way. You won't get an exciting fast-paced LB landing from AI though, players sure, UnitCapture'd sure, but not stock AI. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
sammole 10 Posted October 3, 2010 Thanks mate, just gave it a go and he did seem to land slightly quicker and smoother, but i set the flyinheight to say 40 or 50, but when he gets to a waypoint or H pad he climbs right back up to like 60. kylania 568 Posted October 3, 2010 Gotta limit their speed a bit, maybe put another MOVE waypoint, with speed limited, in front of the landing as well far enough back so they slow nicely rather than flaring up into the stratosphere. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Deathcon5 10 Posted October 4, 2010 Good tips. Also, I have found that if you want them to come in fast you can make them turn hard also around when you switch them to limited, that burns speed too. You could also tinker with setFuel 0 on a timer, then setfuel 1 once they have been on the ground long enough to unload. They tend to skid in a bit, but it works on open flat terrain.
