shezan74 11 Posted September 25, 2010 a nice work... there is a Visitor road smoothing script that could help in this. Place the road and apply the script to the road to make those effects. Some post-production on bulldozer is required, of course.
Robster 11 Posted September 30, 2010 (edited) a nice work... there is a Visitor road smoothing script that could help in this. Place the road and apply the script to the road to make those effects. Some post-production on bulldozer is required, of course. Would you be so kind to tell us exactly which script is that you refer... Thanks a lot edit: already found :D Edited September 30, 2010 by Robster

bushlurker 46 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Would be very nice to tell us, where you found that script. All the standard scripts are in the Visitor 3 main install folder - access and run them from within Visitor with the Scripts/Add & Run Script menu option For the road smoothing script - select the road you want to smooth - call the script - set the type of smoothing and hit OK... It'll take a variable amount of time from a few seconds to forever, depending on the length of road and other factors I'm not sure of... Occasionally it doesn't complete at all - a bit of road section rearranging and it's ok the next time you try... sometimes... Be careful tho, and don't mistake "a very long time" for "forever" - I've had roads I thought were gonna fail smoothing and just hang there forever actually complete just by leaving them smoothing for an hour or two... other times you can leave it all day and it just hangs there... your frustration level will dictate how long "long enough" is before you decide that particular road section is a no-go and you abandon and redesign it... :) One final trick with the "won't complete smoothing" hassle is to save everything at that point - reboot the comp - reload and immediately try smoothing that section again... this occasionally works - as if you've "flushed" buffers or memory or some other damned internal Visitor thing... Also, you may find that it disrupts the surrounding landscape quite a lot - this happens mostly on diagonal SW > NE roads - repair tweaking with the terrain vertices tool in Visitor required afterwards - sometimes quite a lot of repairing...:( B Edited October 1, 2010 by Bushlurker
