A few problems :(

Recommended Posts

Ive installed the game on both my machines in the past and everything worked perfect but since then its been uninstalled and both PCs have been upgraded etc... well heres the problem on my second system I cannot get flashpoint to run in T&L as it comes up with a error about it cannot run 1024x768 @ 0hz or something? and when I run it in Direct3d the start up graphics are screwed and when you goto the options its just a plain screen on the laptop thingy and also when selecting missions you cant see em the book is just blank

Well heres the spec

AMD 1ghz

MSI KT7turbo motherboard - With latest 4 in 1s etc..

448mb PC133 ram

SoundBlaster live 5.1 - with latest drivers

Radeon 8500 Retail - with latest drivers

Win 98SE

And the second problem is on my main machine, The graphics are really plain and horrible , the textures are near enough plain colours and no detail at all, I have everything max out on high detail and runnign at 1024x768 32 bit colour. Heres the spec

AthlonXP2100+

MSI K7N420 Pro

512mb DDR pc2100 ram

SoundBlaster 5.1

Leadtek Geforce 4 ti4600

WINXP PRO

Both flashpoints have been patched upto 146 and Ive reinstalled it before patching it up and the same problems occur on both machines.

Please help as I was really looking forward to playing this on my LAN again

Right Ive found a solution for both systems I will post what I did if anyone else is having similar problems.

on the Radeon system, Firsty I disabled the w bugger in control panel/display options then went to my ofp/users folder and opened up the user config file and right at the bottom theres a line like wbuffer or something change the 1 to a 0. This should clear up the funny start up and missing options and also the flashing/disappearing models in game

If now all your textures are corrupted as in my last picture above then goto this site And download yourself the latest 'omega drivers' and restart your comp. And these drivers have vastly improved my system I was using the latest drivers off ATIs webpage and then changed to these and everything has improved , Games such as Jedi Knight 2 and Medal Of Honour.

If anyone needs anymore help I will go into more detail on the exact settings I am using

And for the TI4600 it was a simple change in the display properties I just changed from High performance to Blend and I got all the detail back instead of plain textures

This is most probably because W-Buffer is enabled. Since you can't see much in-game, do this:

Open UserInfo.cfg in a text editor, you'll find it here

OperationFlashpoint(game dir) -> Users -> YourUserName

On line 27 (with me anyway) it says "useWBuffer=1;"

Change it to "useWBuffer=0;"

Save and start the game again... smile.gif

OK. my bad. Just saw the picture and figured I'd throw in a comment...

I had some mouse trouble with 6058 drivers, but Omega's 6071 fixed that for me biggrin.gif
