Hoaah 10 Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) Where are the plants defined? I would think in a config.cpp file, but there is no such thing. So how do I point it to my lower poly models then? EDIT: found a solution, which is hex editing the wrp files (chernarus itself), isn't that illegal as well or seen as cheating? I know PROPER has his low visuals plants, but the plants still look as good as before... Edited August 4, 2010 by Hoaah
bushlurker 46 Posted August 4, 2010 You can configure an alternate vegetation set as a "patch addon" which will overwrite the Cherno/Utes/etc vegetation with your stuff in memory only - as they load - which saves you messing with editing Chernarus, and also means you don't need to basically create a complete "alternative Cherno" just to get your plants working... The downside is if you load a patch that says "change all THAT vegetation to THIS - wherever it occurs", the patch will do precisely that - as long as its loaded in memory it will substitute your veg for the default, regardless of the island, ie: it will use the alternate set on any island which uses A2 default vegetation - including user made ones - only way to stop it is to restart the game without your addon = back to normal... maybe thats what you want tho?... Take a look at me & Betons Summer Vegetation addon... Watch out... elsewhere in the Forums you'll find a different version of this addon - it DOESN'T interfere with the Default vegetation, it stands alongside.... thats really designed for island makers - the same files, just configured differently... Take a look at the version in the link above though - it IS what you're aiming at - a replacement pack basically... Plants don't usually require a config... in this case it's all down to folder structure and the $PBOPREFIX$ file... B
