  1. Hi all, Some may remember a thread I created last year announcing a tool I created called the Arma Preset Creator, this thread has since been deleted as I thought to re-announce the latest updates and changes. The application was originally hosted in Azure, which I decided to migrate away from several weeks back, and I took this as an opportunity to recreate the application with Angular as a learning experience, with a backend API. Description This aims to bridge the gap between Steam Workshop Items and the Arma 3 Launcher whereby any Steam Workshop items with dependencies require a preset to be created manually for these to be loaded in-game. The application solves this problem by generating the preset HTML file for you, which can then be imported into the Arma 3 Launcher. To use it you simply have to retrieve the URL or ID of the Steam Workshop item and paste that into the site, then hit "Create" and it should download a HTML file which can be imported. Alternatively you could share a link to embed on your website or in your Teamspeak, Discord or Steam communities. This allows people to instantly download a preset without having to retrieve the URL or ID. Sharing a link will generate the preset every time that it is clicked. This means that the preset will always be up to date with the collection or item. Capabilities Generate Arma 3 Launcher Presets based on the following Steam Workshop items Collections Missions with mod dependencies Mods with dependencies Generate embeddable/shareable links to embed on your website or community channel which allows people to download Presets in a single click. Usage Generating Preset Enter the URL or ID for a Steam Workshop item Click Create Import the downloaded HTML file into your Arma 3 launcher. Sharing Preset Retrieve a Workshop item ID and enter it on the website Click "Share" and then "Copy", or manually copy if you prefer Share the link via Steam chat or embed in any platform that your community uses to communicate/share mod info. URLs: Arma Preset Creator Arma Preset Creator - GitHub Privacy Notice: The API will log the Steam workshop item IDs used to generate presets, this is only to track usage statistics and also see the diversity between the types of workshop items which this application is used for. No personally identifiable information is, nor will ever be logged with this application, no cookies are used, and no ads will ever run on the website. Changelog: [31/05/2022]: UI Overhaul (see comments below) [21/05/2022]: Brought this back online under a new domain name. [14/07/2021]: I am no longer affiliated with this domain name as it has been handed over to a different team who will look after it going forward. Some time back I parted ways with Arma and this became less of a hobby for me. The code remains open source under the MIT GPLv3 (since the recent updates) license on GitHub. [08/12/2020]: Allow users to paste a URL linking directly to a Steam Workshop Item, as well as pasting an ID. Having seen some errors from somebody trying to generate a preset for an item with no mods or dependencies, I have added some more descriptive error messages to say why a preset with no items won't be generated. [30/11/2020]: Switched it back on with a new host, having been asked by several people. [27/11/2020]: Ended support for this and have instead uploaded the server side source code to github. [02/02/2019]: Added HTTPS [12/12/2018]: Added support for workshop items whose dependencies contain dependencies. Gracefully, duplicates will be filtered at request time so only unique items will be pulled back which is results in lighter load on the Steam Web API Added integration tests (non client facing) to ensure quality and consistency with the API response when refactoring any of the underlying code. Tests added for the scenarios where a workshop item has No dependencies Top level dependencies Nested dependencies (The request resource has a dependency who also has dependencies) Nested dependencies with duplicates (The request resource has a dependency who also has dependencies, some of which are duplicated in the parent resource) [11/12/2018]: Added some error handling around workshop items which have no children dependencies, this will be rejected as there is no need for this utility to create a preset for a single mod without dependencies. Mods with dependencies will now generate correct presets, whereas previously the parent mod was not included in the final preset file. API reference has updated with a breaking change removing the ArmaPresetRequest and instead passing the SteamWorkshopItem object back into the Arma Generate Preset operation. I will add semantic versioning in the future to protect developers against breaking changes. [10/12/2018]: Presets can now be generated from missions and other workshop item types which have dependencies Workshop item dependencies which no longer exist on the Steam Workshop will be ignored/excluded from the generated preset, and also will not return from the '/api/steam/workshop/publisheditems/{publishedItemId}' operation As this application has been released, I have obsoleted (rather than removed) the '/api/steam/collections/{collectionId}' operation, developers should now use '/api/steam/workshop/publisheditems/{publishedItemId}'
  2. If you'll take a gander at the comments under CSLA announcement you'll see that people are rather pessimistic than jumping with joy about this thing. Why is that? We need to look at Arma's history to understand it a bit. Back in A2 times we got assets for contemporary gameplay and mods were just an extra thing for other theatres or time periods. In Early to mid A3 era mods became standard and the defacto core of the game, no self respecting community plays without at least RHS or CUP. Bohemia went with a different setting becasue they could when modders would make what community wants anyway. We accepted lapses of quality, noncompatibility between one mod to another, bugs and recycled content because it was free and necessary. Now in late A3 era we're expected to pay for what would earlier be just a mod, with the same, or maybe slightly higher quality. Sure, its nice to reward modmakers, but look at it from a clan/community viewpoint. They can't make DLC a required standard for joining because it ads too little/can be replaced with mods that do simmiliar stuff and costs too much. Therefore they never can play at full capacity when employing a DLC. Therefore they don't play with DLC, because a lot of people are left out. I bought Apex and GM on their releases. I played ONE mision on Apex, and none on GM. Communities simply don't touch them and the dlcs are relegated to single play and plinking away with few friends. Because communities don't touch them people dont buy them. Because people don't buy them communities don't touch them. Bec... The cycle continues. Sure, there are compatibility files, but from a mission maker perspective they don't do shit. Non-DLC players can be in the same mission, but can't use the same equipment. So really you need to make 2 missions within one, one for DLC people where they have cool toys, and one for non-dlc people where they have substitutes from mods. Or just use the DLC as opfor. This simply won't do because then what's the point of using DLC assets when you still have to use modded assets, and you got DLC exactly because it has stuff mods/vanilla don't have? The only solution is to have compatibility files with low quality versions (akin to Arma 2 LITE dlc's) with assets you can still use, they just look bad. When EVERYONE has access to the content then there's a higher probablility of it being used on server. When it is going to be used on server then more people are willing to buy the DLC because they will be able to enjoy it with people, not just alone. Making LITE versions of DLC's gives you MORE money, not less. Counterintuitive, i know, but should work. TL;DR Bohemia, bring back LITE versions of DLC's from A2 days. You'll earn more that way.

Celebrate 1. About Arma Dialog Creator is a fresh take on making dialogs for Arma 3. Instead of editing header files, you are directly manipulating the dialog. Instead of reloading Arma 3 over and over again for hours trying to get that perfect alignment, load up the Preview mode and edit at the same time. This project is open-source and licensed with MIT license. 2. Feature Spotlight Below are some features that make ADC great. More detail is available in the wiki. Macros In ADC, you can assign properties to Macros, which are passed by reference. This means that when you assign a property's value to a Macro, any changes to a Macro's value will also then be forwarded to the property's value. Mini SQF Evaluator Built into ADC is a standalone small SQF evaluator. You don't need Arma 3 running to use it, there's no shady "hacking" involved, and it's integrated with ADC's header PreProcessor, meaning you can import header files that have SQF inside of them. Also, because the developer got carried away, there is also a Mini SQF Evaluator Popup so you can evaluate multiple expressions. Not sure if the popup is actually useful though. :) "How does it work?" It uses ANTLR and lots of Java code to evaluate the SQF. All of the evaluating is done with ASTs (Abstract Syntax Trees) built by ANTLR and evaluated in Java. "How much SQF is supported?" Very, very, very, very little. Probably less than 0.1% of all SQF commands are supported. If you wish to see a full list, you may visit this link. String Table Support A String Table editor is built in with ADC. Besides just being able to edit keys and values, you can pass them around as Macros throughout the program so that when the String Table changes, so does your dialog. You can also change the language in ADC to check if different localizations will go out of bounds of a control (this is shown in the trailer above). Learn more about the String Table editor here. 3. Media Here is a trailer for Arma Dialog Creator. It's a really short, but dense, video showing many of the implemented features. You can watch the video here (same video as above). Here is a longer, slower paced video that shows ADC's features pretty well. The video was made in November 2016, so a lot has changed. Here is the doobly doo. 4. Control Support Not every control is supported, unfortunately. You may view the how much is supported here. In the future, I hope to support more controls and preferably have less bugs. :) 5. Download You may download Arma Dialog Creator here. 6. Wiki Want to read lots of text? The wiki may be for you. You can find it here. 7. Source Code and Bug Reporting You may find the source code at the GitHub page. You can also report bugs at the repo's issues page (please report them there). Source Code Issues Page 8. Donate If you wish to donate to me personally, you may do so here. Please only donate if you have the money because I won't give refunds. 9. Discord I have created a Discord server for Arma Dialog Creator and Arma IntelliJ Plugin. Here is the invite (remove the spaces in the link - they are to prevent bots): https://discord.gg/K d u 8 c q e 10. Celebrate Arma Dialog Creator has been out for more than a year now (time has flown by holy cow). And I'm still screaming.
  4. The FLY ArmA III Air Traffic Module makes it easy to create a network of airports. What's new: *Initial release version 0001 The number one request from Fly Tanoa Air was to make it useful for other maps and vehicles. Done. Check out the readme FLY ArmA III verion 0001 Mission Maker walkthrough video Demo video from tutorial NOTES: * Included: 3 airport markers. 3 approach vectors. 1 cargo box and 1 traffic marker. A small init block and a great big function library. Also a brief intro.sqf you may configure and use if you like. * A DEMO mission on Altis (not the one from the tutorial). * It's possible to add more airports but it isn't a 2 click solution. If you know how, go ahead. If you don't and need help, message me. The next version will make it simple to add more airports. Updates will be to the function library and the module assets will always remain the same. * There are extra functions in there and extra functionality within some of the functions which is unused/disabled. If you want something to be different-- different passengers or less often radio updates, for example-- there's probably already a built-in function for that, just look. * You can absolutely drop this into an existing scenario, just remember to add the init variables and exec the library. * There's no restriction on vehicle type so this is already a taxi service / cargo delivery module, too. Just hop in a car and start delivering people from airport to airport (you can reconfigure the names of destinations of course). * When you open the library the first thing you may think is, "Hey, if I replaced this civilian thing with a military thing, it'd be like a real mission.", and you would be right. I noticed that, too. There is another framework with those edits already made. * Since this is a community asset, community suggestions for features and script improvements are welcome. Have fun!
  5. Description: This is a GUI that allows the person who executed the script to add/assign or remove/unassign Zeus to any specified player(s). Downloads & More Information: GitHub: Pastebin: Video: Steam Guide: Curator Creator Version 1.0: * New version is coming out soon. The script was broken so I am going to re-make it myself. *
  6. Hey guys, as i bought the Creator DLC, i first edited the new Wefelingen map in the EDEN Editor for a little nice base for my ZEUS missions. When i had it finished, i uploaded it to my Nitrado Server via FileZilla. As i joined in the lobby, the lobby started "flashing" with errors in the bottom left corner. I already put the "-mod:gm" in the modification field. And i tried it again with no assets or other buildings. I simply have the spawn and the roles on the map. I tried it with the winter map and the normal map. As i cant edit the files i dont know how to fix it. The only mods i have loaded are: - Achilles - CBA_A3 I hope you can help me 🙂
