Weapon restrictions for specific roles
MrSydney posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hello, I would like to add weapon restrictions to specific classes. For example only AT's can carry launchers, only engineers can carry explosive charges and only medics can carry medkits. In my mission, players will be given a virtual arsenal at the start, but I don't want them to pick up anything they are not supposed to later on. So the restrictions should always apply. I have seen a few topics on how to restrict the arsenal but that is not going to work. Does anybody know how I can do that? Thank you- 7 replies

So finally back to playing vigor and while some updates have Impressed me others have not. I recall ranking 2nd in the shootout mode today and getting two shootout crates and about 400xp. While I’m aware there’s still possibly an issue with gaining food from this mode I’m troubled by the lack of criteria given for what can give you the crates. Is it Rng and anyone can potentially earn one or more? If so what rankings are the prize givers if any. No info to be found anywhere on what exact prizes I win per match unlike finishing an encounter. Thoughts?

How about making the crates contain level appropriate rewards? Like a Common crate with maybe common rewards and a Yellow/Legendary crate with legendary rewards? Seems like a logical idea... Currently I have a common rain jacket as a reward in my Legendary crate, just doesn’t make sense. Also, some of the challenges and rewards are just puzzling... For instance getting 10 pistol kills and getting rewarded with crappy mats, while doing a shelter upgrade and being rewarded with a Legendary crate?! It seems that the system of generating the rewards is operating backwards, or whoever is coming up with these challenges/rewards should be reassigned! This is a great game concept and it is really fun but it’s little things like these that really take away from the enjoyment of the game. Yes I know it’s a free game, I have like others actually invested cash in this game in the form of the starter pack and will continue to do so as long as certain issues/bugs get fixed. The emptying of magazines on automatics almost had me deleting this game, thankfully that has been fixed!!! Looking forward to an Admins response on this.

So there has been at least 4 occasions that my game has times out, right when the countdown for in game ends. Then when I push A to login and go to my shelter. I lose all my inventory. The first two didn't really bother me, but the last two I've lost good weapons. The special issue ADR-97 isn't easy to get. Also I have an idea to potentially add to the game. The choice to cancel your booster at the pre-game. Only reason I haven't bought crowns is because I don't want to be paying for everyone else's increased chance. There's been many games where I'm the only one who boosted loot chance. It would be more fun to actually get games where the crate gets boosted to the special issue. But sadly hasn't happened once. Even though I've played long enough to improve my shelter to the 12/13th tier. Other then those couple issues, the game has worked pretty great for me. Thank you

Hey Guys, I've managed to collect the ADR-97 weapon plan from a Military grade crate but it hasn't registered it as collected on my crafting bench. When I look on the "crates" tab it shows a green tick on it to show it's been collected (as does the 7x VSS Vintorez rifles) but I can't see either in my inventory or crafting bench. I'm a bit gutted about that as they aren't very common haha. Is this a common thing and is there anything I can do about it? Cheers

I've been playing this game since the 20th I would say and I do enjoy it, but I have noticed some issues with some things like how people may complain that some players go into matches with nothing and it makes the pvp less interesting. It was easier the first few days to get crates and crowns form challenges the first week or so and now now one boots the crates as much. When people can bring in nothing to get more loot and when challenges do not reset as often anymore it makes it so not many people will boost the crate. This makes it near impossible to get the higher crates since no one will boost it if they don't want to bring guns in so they won't lose anything. I suggest that you change the crate system just a little bit to where you can trade in lower tier crates for higher ones after saving up a certain amount. Example: 2 common crates can be traded in for 1 uncommon crate. 2 uncommon for 1 rare. 2 rare for 1 military grade. 2 military grade for 1 special issue. This will mean uncommon crates will take 2 commons, rare crates will take 4 commons, military grade will take 8 commons, and special issue will take 16 common crates. The numbers I think are reasonable as if you want something in the special issue crate then you need to get the airdrop max in 16 solos or 8 duos assuming your teammate let's you take both and that all crates are common like most matches. The benefits to this system is that it will make it so all crates are possible instead of never really being able to get the high end crates since you can't pay to win which I do like how you did that i just feel there should be a way to still get them especially which how a lot of player bring in low or no weapons so they will most likely never boost the crate to special issue. If the crate system is changed to this it would also cause people to probably boost the crates more since it will help speed up the process of getting to a higher crate since they can halfway to a special issue with a military grade crate boost instead of always getting commons. Players would probably be more encouraged to bring in at least some weapon since crates would be boosted a little more often and if they bring in a weapon then maybe they would want to boost it since they would be able to defend themself as well as maybe hunt other players going for the crate. All crates will still be obtainable through your normal methods and in addition by trading lower tier crates, players would probably be more interested in bringing some weapon in more often if the crate would be boosted and help them get to the crate they need faster. Players would complain less about there being less action when all people come with in is nothing or just a knife. Players might see more pvp action and get the game more popular. This might also get players to buy more crowns to help boost crate or loot more often to speed up the process of trading in crates which will help make the company more money that can hopefully get us more content and maybe more maps as well as fixing glitches such as the one that fires your gun for you when it's in auto, or where you get stuck aiming or stuck crouching. The numbers for the crates do not have to be the exact ones I came up with but I feel this would benefit the game in multiple ways and make the experience much more enjoyable for players who are seeing much less action for a loot and shoot game than expected in some matches.

I start the game on Thursday last week... Had some minor problems but for a preview it is acceptable. I like the setting, graphics and the gameplay but the weekend shows a lot of issues. If I finished an encounter I have to restart 3 out of 4 times. I couldn't choose any weapons. The servers are the next problem....I have massive lags. Sometimes I needed 2 magazines to kill another player on the other side, players pop up and make one-shot-kills. Sometimes I couldn't open a crate. And in my opinion, these problems could be a the death for a great game, if it works be released. With these problems the game will die in 3 weeks

So i bought the founders pack yesterday. Because the 2 hour trial wasnt enough for me. This game has amazing potential! Keep up the good work devs. Althought.. I'm sure you are aware (or not) but your crate system when in your shelter doesnt open.. It says connecting to vigor servers and then doesnt let me open my crate or even register that i am pressing select. Then after the next encounter it shows the crate was opened but the items rewarded were not in my inventory.. I understand this game is early in development but the airdrop crates seem to be the bread and butter of the encounters. Hope to see it fixed soon.

Crates falling through Concrete floors on server startup
SullysNQ posted a topic in ARMA 3 - EDEN EDITOR
To anyone out there, I am currently helping a friend work on an Arma3 server. We made a custom building, having concrete floors well above the land underneath it. In the building I've made, once ported over to the A3 server, the crates I've placed end up on the ground below the concrete floors. I was hoping there was a way to keep the crates in a fixed position, allowing them to float on server startup. Any ideas would be amazing. I used M3 Eden editor, and this is for an exile server.
