War with Iran.

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I supose I am not the only one tracking this.

It is all over the Arab and Israeli press, as well as the blogosphere, though the main street western press other than an article today in Forbes has been asleep at the wheel.

The Israeli president calls on all Jewish People to pray for Israel, and for all expatriot Israeli's and foreign Jewish people to come to Israel, read those of fighting age.

Saudi Arbabia gives flight corridor permission for Israeli planes and beefs up its own F15's.

Egypt locks every one else out of the Suez Canal and guards its banks to let the USS Harry Truman fleet plus a crowded Israeli troop ship through.

Iran anounces that the supposed relief fleet to Gaza that it will send with a navy escort is now cancelled, and rquires all troops to report, then moves forces to its borders with Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan and speeds up its Uranium enrichment and starts chucking IAEA observers out.

It has the same feel as what you read about WWI.

I fear we are moving to a war where both sides will use nukes.

Yeah its coming soon.... on a side note, doesnt it seem like every free people has had to fight off Persia? (aka Iran)

Man I havent heard about them calling in all their troops though, sounds like both sides are waiting for the other to make a move now, might not mean one side is going to attack, their both just expecting the other too. I'm sure all of Israels enemies are shaking right now though, they pissed Israel off and now their just waiting for their ass whipping :)

Either way, maybe the IDF Mahal will finally take me lol :yay: that or the Marine Corp. Cause the shit is just about to hit the fan, I dunno if you're religious or not, but if you are you might take all this as a sign the shit thats about to hit the fan is the main shit, the shit to end all shit so to speak lol.

If only we had a real President, not a socialist traitor whose destroying the country from within, maybe we'd back Israel and with a show of force and support we could avoid the whole situation.

You remember though when one of the Israelis soldiers got kidnapped a few years ago? They raided the place where they thought he was with tanks, troops, airstrikes, everything. Israel doesnt mess around, they cant afford to with everybody wanting them dead so badly, so Israel might make the first move and if they do I wouldnt blame them.

Question is, how will the UN and everybody else feel though? I thought their purpose was to prevent WW3, but them criticizing Israel for attacking a Trojan horse of a flotilla shows how much sense they have...

Don't think I'm hoping for this either, its just unless your blind, you gotta know its coming.

Why not support your president instead of bashing?

And what about Israeli nukes? When will US launch an attack there to disable that threat?

What if what if......

And maybe Iran really just wants to produce cheap electricity. it is their right.

(I want to be naive.)

Still no proves have been presented of actual nuclear weapons.

This is total bollocks once again... pardon my language.

walker - stop drinking coffee 24/7 !! ;)

If you can - count all US Navy transits through the Suez Canal starting from the Eighties.

If you can - get some infos why Saudi Arabia "beefs up" their F15s.

If you can - stop beeing an armchair theorist claiming that blogs and columns are always true.

Enjoy your life and die happy!

Pics or it didn't happen. It might have just been the German ship that is part of that fleet that they've seen.

Well to be honest, not much will happen until both Iraq and Afghanistan are both finished, what in about 12-18 mths?

Afghaniston will be a slow withdrawl for the West, stating weve done what we set out to do etc, all awhile knowing it's not actually a war you could win.

a few months after the withdrawl Talaban will take over again.

but hey...

Answer this tho, the security council wanted Iran to hand over it nuke material and get enriched material in return, Iran agreed to use Brazil and Turkey yet suddenly the security council found that unacceptable.

I fear a strange game is being played out and were all along for the ride.

Iran won't be an Iraq thats for sure.

A word of advice, if you're going to bash the president do it in a intelligent manner and not use the variations of the scripted buzz phrases that the far right puts out for it's ignorant followers.

As for supporting Israel, why should we support a country that attacks ships in international waters with little or no cause? I personally say it's high time Israel fight it's own war without the US supplying it (with ammo or foreign recruits) or acting as mediator. I refuse to support the actions of a war monger i.e. Benjamin Netanyahu.

Hi all

I think from Iran's recent actions and some what bellicose replies in the last few days indicate that it already has one or more nukes.

The problem is that Valerie Wilson (Plame) who was the head of the CIA Asia and the Middle East counter proliferation department was outed by some one within the US Government along with her cover company and all her assets and agents.

This essentially blinded the US to what is going on in Iran and since then the US has been desperately trying to insert new agent's and recruit new assets; many of who have been caught or burned. As a consequence US intelligence on Iran was knocked back 20 years and the US has been forced to rely on information from third parties with their own agenda's.

People rarely understand how much of the work of secret services is really for the purpose of gathering information and maintaining peace, rather they get mesmerised by James Bond Hollywood bullshit operations.

I am afraid you missed out far and wide with this one Walker. There is nothing "alarming" about the news reported in Arab and Israeli press as far as I can tell. I have to say this is as sad as all those "war is gonna break out with north Korea....finally" posts that pops all over the internet every once in a while.

As for all those warmongers who seem to be roaming around here............meh

Egypt locks every one else out of the Suez Canal and guards its banks to let the USS Harry Truman fleet plus a crowded Israeli troop ship through.

This is a normal move considering the thread of terrorism on such a capital ship on it's way to relieve the Eisenhower CSG in the OA of the 5th Fleet, the only foreign ship with the Truman CSG is the German frigate Hessen. Reports state that there were 12 ships.

The Truman Carrier Strike Group consists of:

USS Harry S. Truman with embarked Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW 3)

Guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60)

Aegis-equipped destroyers USS Winston Churchill (DDG 81), USS Milius (DDG 69), USS Ross (DDG 71), USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79)

German frigate FGS Hessen (F221).

That's just 7 ships. Add one supply ship and a tanker, and you get to 9. The Israeli navy is very small, it would make no sense to send at least 3 of their top warships through and not think anyone would anticipate their next move.

Hi Barely-injured

Sorry I normally quote supporting evidense from the media when I post things but as I said the western media seems to be asleep at the wheel I was just waiting for them to catch up with the reports in Israel and throughout the Middle East:

Peres Calls on Jews to Pray for Israel and ‘Come Home’

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

President Shimon Peres, citing the terrorist-sponsored international attempt to make Israel illegitimate, told the Jewish Agency on Sunday morning, “We are a people with faith. It is time to pray.†He also called on Jews all over the world to move to Israel.

His speech opened the annual Jewish Agency Assembly in Jerusalem. The President reviewed modern history, including the Holocaust and the seven Arab wars against Israel since the re-establishment of the Jewish State in 1948. Israel won the wars, but “threats still remain,†he stated...

Saudi Arbabia gives flight corridor permission for Israeli planes...
Saudis allow Israel an air corridor to bomb Iran

By Martin Barillas

Saudi Arabia has made preparations to allow the over-flight of the Israeli air force in the case of an eventual bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

According to media reports, just days after the UN Security Council imposed new sanctions on the Islamic Republic, the oil kingdom of Saudi Arabia has agreed to allow Israel to utilize an essential corridor in its air space and thereby shorten the route for a raid on Iran.

In order to allow the Israeli raid, Riyadh has carried out tests to make certain its own jets are not scrambled and missile defense systems not activated. Once the Israelis are through, the kingdom’s air defenses will return to full alert...

Eyeing Iran, Saudis upgrade F-15 fleet

Published: June 15, 2010 at 1:14 PM

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, June 15 (UPI) -- Saudi Arabia, increasingly fearful of the threat from expansionist Iran, has launched a major upgrade its fleet of more than 150 Boeing F-15 strike aircraft.

The move is part of a general drive by the Persian Gulf Arab states to bolster their military forces to counter Iran's growing arsenal of ballistic missiles.

Saudi Arabia and its partners on Iran's doorstep, along the western shore of the Persian Gulf, are far more vulnerable to attack than Israel, which is more distant and beyond the range of most of the strategic missiles Iran currently has deployed...

SAUDI ARABIA: Riyadh upgrades air capabilities amid rising tensions with Iran

June 16, 2010 | 8:27 am

Saudi Arabia could bear the brunt of the fallout of a conflict between Israel and Iran if tensions over Tehran's nuclear program come to a head.

This could explain why the oil-rich kingdom, with an eye to Iran, appears to be investing in its air power, while denying reports it gave Israel permission to use its airspace for a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.

According to media reports, Riyadh is looking to boost its already impressive air capabilities by purchasing more F-15 aircraft and updating the ones it has through a couple of multimillion-dollar contracts with Lockheed Martin Corp. and Goodrich Corp.

In particular, a widely cited article in Jane's Defense Weekly pointed to Saudi concerns about Iran's growing influence in the region and its ambitions to become a nuclear power...

Report: US battleships cross Suez Canal

According to Al-Quds al-Arabi report, 11 American warships, one Israeli vessel, crossed Suez Canal into Red Sea

Roee Nahmias Published: 06.19.10, 14:55 / Israel News

Eleven American battleships and an Israeli one crossed the Suez Canal Friday en route to the Red Sea, the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper reported.

According to the report, traffic in the canal was halted for several hours in order to allow US Navy vessels, which included an aircraft carrier and carried infantry troops, armored vehicles and ammunition, to pass from the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea.

It was further reported that eyewitnesses detected an Israeli warship among the vessels. No confirmation has been received from Egyptian authorities.

The report also noted that fishing activities in the area were stopped during the ships' passage as well as traffic on the bridges above the canal...

Iran aid flotilla to Gaza delayed

June 21, 2010

AFP

The departure of two Iranian aid ships for Gaza has been delayed due to lack of coordination and a change of cargo, a Red Crescent official said on Monday without specifying when the flotilla would leave.

ISNA news agency quoted Mohammad Javad Jafarian, head of the youth wing of Iranian Red Crescent, as saying that the sailing had been delayed and "no definite" date had been set for the departure of the ships to Gaza.

The Iranian Red Crescent had planned to send two aid ships earlier this month and last week even said that the boats were ready and awaiting the approval of the foreign ministry...

Two IAEA Inspectors Barred From Entering Iran

Monday, 21 June 2010 23:19 Written by Radio Zamaneh

Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran’s chief nuclear energy negotiator announced that two International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors are banned from entering Iran for “having reported false information about Iran’s facilities.â€

Salehi criticized the actions of these two inspectors and maintained that the two officials had given a “false†report about Iran’s nuclear activities in Vienna.

Mehr news agency reports that Iran has protested against these individuals and told the IAEA that they need to introduce two different inspectors in order to continue with their inspections.

In the last report of the IAEA on Iran, it is said that although Iran has been cooperative, the “level of cooperation†does not fully convince the inspectors that they are not seeking nuclear weapons.

The report also indicates that Iran has not been able to respond to questions about its nuclear activities in a timely fashion. The head of IAEA has also said that Iran will never allow inspections to go “beyond NPT.†...

...The IAEA report stated that Iran has not only paid no attention to the former Security Council resolution demanding an end to its uranium enrichment, it has even installed new equipment which can speed up its enrichment capacities...

There Will Be War

Reza Kahlili, 06.21.10, 07:20 PM EDT

The time to support Iran's people is now.

...Meanwhile, the Obama administration has ordered a massive buildup of U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf starting with Carrier Strike Group 10, headed by the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. Just last Friday an armada of more than 12 U.S. and Israeli warships passed through the Suez canal amid extreme security provided by Egypt. The ships are headed for the Red Sea and from there to the Persian Gulf. Another four U.S. warships will be making their way to the region to join the Strike Group. The Americans have also conducted joint air and naval strike practices with France and the U.K. under the command of American forces, while Germany is sending warships to the area, also under the command of American forces...

...Iran, for its part, is also preparing for an all-out war in the Middle East. Before even a vote was cast at the U.N. on recent sanctions, Iranian leaders had ordered the Guards to build up. Reinforcement troops have been dispatched to the Iraqi and Afghanistan borders. Hezbollah has been armed to the teeth, and Syria was presented with missiles carrying larger payloads and longer range. ...

Sorry walker, but all those news stories are just a collection of any other ordinary month in the middle-east. I'm sure if you'd hit the news archives, like circa 2005 you'll find news articles that have more or less the same "shock" value for you.

But anyway, if you do wanna continue to spend time on your latest conspiracy theory, you might wanna check on which CSG the Truman CSG is supposed to replace in the middle east. If they're not replacing anyone at all then I might just take this thread a bit more serious.

Btw, news media needs to stop reporting on Israeli warships going through Suez without providing any proof. If it really happened then there would've been pictures. The canal is not void of civilization there...

No one would side with Iran. It's doubtful that that many would side with Israel.

Hezbollah would have a field day, but when the chips are down I think it's unlikely Syria or any other of Israel's neighbors would fight and lose a real war. If this happens, it would just doom the peace process in the territories and extend the life of the Iranian theocracy for another generation.

Yep, right in the middle of a recession, huge national debt and overstretched troops fighting on two fronts, what the US needs is a cowboy president to bomb another country and piss more people off.

Oh, and unlike the Iraqis and Afghans, these ones have armies that won't keel over and die in an hour...

Thanks for the links walker although not exactly "Arab and Israeli press", but anyways.......Shimon Peres's antics and public crying are nothing new. And like others said....the US strike group is meant to replace another one already there...it remains to be seen if indeed there was an isreali warship among them or not.

The Saudi "beefing" of its airforce to counter "Iranian threat" is being taken out of proportion in my opinion. The Saudis have been going through various deals and arrangements to upgrade their airforce for the last couple of years.....again nothing new here.

However the news about Saudis having an arrangement to allow Israeli flights over their territory to Iran is new to me. It would be interesting to see the repercussions of their decision should something indeed happen.

"Confirmations" about this arrangement have been as numerous as plane crashes over the last few years, all from dubious/non-existent sources in mostly either Arab or Israeli press, or more frequently, plainly fabricated by groups with various agendas on the internet.

A war with Iran might or might not happen in the near future (next few years), but the current "certain indicators" have all come and gone several times before without anything significant happening (some tough talk, chasing after a rubber boat with some speedboats to capture the occupants to have some bargaining chips etc.)
