X-Cam prototype map

Recommended Posts

I asked the same question. And the answer was it can do both, but is designed I think more for Terrain builders. I.e. for permenant placement.

I understand it can generate a data file that can be imported into TB to help automate the Placement of objects.... Now if I can only get that far with my own little Terrain experiment then this will be VERY VERY useful.

Awesome, so now I'm curious if you will be able to export a map directly from this mod, into its own folder so its ready for use.

That would make map making alot more available for people with less modding experience, meaning we could see a flux of map creating because this would make it readily available to the public.

I hope that's the case, I would love something like that.

lol no I think we're still stuck with trying to use TB..... however there are some pretty nice turorials out there... You just need to either pay a fortune to use Global Mapper or figure it out using another set of software, which is what I'm learning now. QGIS + Some other clever software...

This honestly has to be one of my most anticipated mods right now! Keep it up :)

Hi,

I just have a few questions about X-Cam.

1: Is it for creating maps, like exporting them into their own mod so they are playable in game?

2: Or is it just for placing objects and units in game for a mission?

Wow, wow....

Did I mention ωՕω!!! :)

Nice detailed junkyard thingy, good use of those bar things on top

Does this map have any particular setting, or is it more like a tech demo/ generic map or whatever you want to make it?

Yes, it's more like a demo map and play ground to getting warm with the X-Cam :)

Here is also a first video, but with not the best quality and slightly stuttering ...

Good work there sir!

Does it work with objects set up for snapping?

I'm really thinking this might be the way to go forward with the terrain I'm working on right now. I never thought I would see the day that we had something WYSIWYG for object placement and didn't have to deal with that bloody great white cube thing in buldozer...

Sorry, but the X-Cam has no real snapping function.

I would really appreciate a YES or NO answer to this:

Once this is released, would X-CAM be the way to go with creating new maps?

Either way, it is bloody impressive what you have going on here... I've just got my fingers crossed it can be used in some degree to populate maps with everything from trees to buildings... :)

Very impressive town setting Silola, I am curious where some of these buildings are coming from? Specifically the ones in the last photo on platforms. Did you make these are are they hidden away in Arma 3 or from a community object mod?

Interesting map. Looks amazing. with those towns, it would be so amazing if they had Canals. That'd look really awesome, and it hasn't been done. Great work, i can't wait to test out this map.
