Spetsnaz FSB v2.0

Requires ARMA 2 Combined Operations

fsb1i.th.jpgfsb2.th.jpg

I have had these on my hard drive for ages for private use after they got the WIP thread closed. These are a change in direction to the mediocre "modern" FSB I released about 6 months ago. I am releasing them today since Hcpookie released his heavy grenadier update including many new thermobaric and handheld launchers in use by the FSB, and I want the community to get the best of out these units as possible.

These units have been thrashed about in SP and MP and work fine. There doesnt seem to be any major bugs. The mission scope for these units however is quite limited as ARMA is really a conventional warfare simulator, but I could see these being an excellent addition to the Forgotten Few Campaign by King Nothing.

And as always.

Enjoy guys.

v2.0 Features

  • Overall the look and feel of these units is generic "Police" Spetsnaz, maybe from groups such as Alfa, that were involved in the Beslan hostage crisis and several other missions in the North Caucasus region throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. They wear overalls, armoured vests, and the distinctive helmets of the period.
  • 6 kinds of Operators wearing Gorka BARS.
  • 6 kinds of Operators wearing KZS one piece suits.
  • 3 Balaclava heads used by the units by default, can be used using setface or setidentity commands.
  • OA features compatible: Backpacks etc (OA thermal textures will come in a later update), and can administer first aid.
  • Equipped with default BIS MVD loadouts because they inherit directly from the BIS MVD classes (This is intended so any weapon replacement packs can work, or you can just set the weapons manually). This also means if you run ACE they will have ACE compatible loadouts. A weapon pack I recommend is Suddens excellent AK74M pack.
  • These units were the reason I started the Krinkov Pack

They can be found under the EAST side in the faction "FSB"

Colonel, I'm glad you like my GL stuff! (tips hat) These units look really nice! I can definitely see these being used as a QRF or in a convoy escort scenario! Also in the Evo missions, these would be good as the reinforcements (the ones that get para dropped in if you don't blow the tower).

These are brilliant!

a request :)

How about a version with different headgear so they can be used in general play as some form off specops team or spetsnaz variant? It's just I can't really use them as I don't really make police type missions and they don't really look right running around in open combat with their current head gear, everything else is awesome.

Funny you should say that bro.

Because the updated version I have I took the shovels off the packs and made a special shovel pack that you have to put on so not everybody has them

If you dont want to wait however, you could always just use

I do believe that since the 1.62 patch the "white" head model is no longer visible through the glass visor on the TIG helmet and on the goggles.

I created a ticket so go and vote it up fix this bug.

In the mean time I have created a work around solution that uses heads that work with the glass on the helmet. They are the bearded heads from OA but with white skin textures. This will be released when the the next version of forgotten few is released which includes these as a replacement for my Spetsnaz GRU already in that mission.

Thanks lads.

Update v2.1

fsb2.th.jpgfsb1i.th.jpg

Just a quick update guys in light of some bugs pointed out since patch 1.62 and before Lauri releases the next forgotten few update. In their infinite wisdow, the godlike developers of the series we all know and love decided to make changes to either the faces or the face textures on the defaulthead model. Ergo, white faces no longer show through the alpha texture on the glass on the visors, but chinese, balaclava, and arab heads do. So I created a workaround solution.

Changelog v2.1

-Had to fix the glass on the visors, this addon now uses its own set of "FSB" heads from FSB_face01 to 08.

-Added randomised helmet and armoured vest colours.

-Added sniper, now all default BIS MVD classes are present.

BasileyOne, if you run these with ACE or Sudden AK74M pack, they will have different loadouts. Its also not hard to do this addweapon "_X" in your mission :)

yeah, could be. esp if you won't forget to remove all things from unit in previous part of "init" field or script/FSM. but some ppl[and usually the most. for obvious reasons]complain about in context of "easy-way-absence" of such things.

ACE ? what for ? :-)
