Conceived as a love-letter to science-fiction stories such as Mass Effect, the Expanse, FreeSpace 2, Blue Planet, and more, Nirvana follows Lieutenant Christopher Graham as his life becomes intertwined with the greatest and bloodiest turning point in Human history. Featuring eight fully voice-acted missions and several cutscenes, Act 1: Eventide is the humble beginning of an increasingly ambitious journey. MOD COMPATIBILITY It is strongly recommended that you play only with the required mods as any other mod may break the campaign or introduce unwanted behavior. The only exceptions are mods such as JSRS or Blastcore as these do not alter base gameplay. FUTURE PLANS Nirvana: Act 1 - Eventide is the first act out of a planned total of four. Production has already begun on Act 2 - Kindling, with an even more ambitious total of fourteen main missions and six hub missions. Act 2 will possess a fully-realized conversation system similar to Mass Effect's, where your decisions and interactions will affect the future result of the story down the line. KNOWN ISSUES Cutscenes may be obscenely loud for unknown reasons. Currently looking for solutions. The custom HUD was designed before I had full knowledge of the Pixel Grid system, so the interface may not work properly unless you have your interface size set to 'very small.' This will likely be addressed as development on Act 2 continues. Due to Nirvana using Arma 3 in ways it was perhaps not intended for, it is likely that some things may break or behave unpredictably as time goes on. Please do not hesitate to point out these issues so that they may be fixed ASAP. The overview picture for the campaign in the Campaign menu may not show sometimes.     SP Money System

    Hi! I'll cut to the chase! I'm creating a single player sandbox scenario where I'd like to include a "money system" which allows the player to purchase certain weapons or clothing items after either having money added or subtracted as a result of completing / failing a task. I'd like not only to offer the Arma 3 community a cool scenario, but also a script framework for a SP money system, that other players can use in the future to save time! Trouble is, my scripting ability currently sits somewhere between novice and intermediate; seeing as this is a complex project requiring knowledge of dialogs (for GUIs) as well as scripting variables, I was hoping that you could share the best tutorials, tips and pointers relating to establishing variables for a scenario as well as interactive GUI menus called through an external script! (Also, I have read a number of other threads, and tried out some other player's scripts - believe me, reaching out like this is a last resort!) In this alternate reality, both sides attempted to pursue a diplomatic solution before taking up arms. But, when the negotiations fall through the situation quickly escalates on the small island of Stratis. You participate as a NATO infantryman in a combined arms assault to re-secure key territory. That is a free interpretation of events in Africa from 1971 to 1976 showing which would be this story in the 21st century. Ex-military with a dark past Costas Callan is hired as military instructor in the islands of the Mediterranean, being torn apart by a civil war. Protagonist has taken command of European mercs group and actively participates in violent fighting.   13. Operation Stranger: Anthill - Hidden & Dangerous 2 Remake Burma, 1943. We broke through the Burmese jungle in the heat, humidity and mosquito clouds. The area has a strategically important bridge serving as the only crossing for Japanese convoys. Unfortunately, the first attempt to capture and destroy the bridge failed and my people were taken prisoner. I have to try to free them and destroy the bridge at all costs and find out what the trucks are carrying... Task: Your task is to destroy the strategically important bridge in this area. The rest of your team fell into the hands of the enemy, so try to free them. You must also find out the reason for the increased activity of enemy convoys.   14. Hello ! I recently released a new singleplayer scenario called "The Bunker", where i added custom textures to uniforms on the player and some AI. It worked well when i made some tests from the editor, but since i released it on the workshop and tried it as a new subscriber from the main menu and not as the "developer" from the editor, the texture doesn't apply at all on the player, which is then the vanilla camo, but it works well on the AI... The original texture is in a PAA format, but i also tried the JPG version and it still doesn't work Here is the command i put on the player init: kerry setObjectTexture [0, "urban.paa"]; kerry is the name of the player unit. I saw many posts about similar problems for the multiplayer category, but didn't found anything for the singleplayer one... and i don't know at all what could cause this. If someone have a solution, i would really appreciate, as i'm a little embarrassed since i published it on the workshop recently. Thank you in advance for your answers
  15. Ok around 4-5 months in the making. I present to you my dream..... Al Inteqam (The Revenge). A series of perpetual and 'repeatable' CSAT missions all arranged randomly. Inspired by Patrol Ops, BMR Insurgency among others. But much simpler, quicker and SP. I would encourage budding mission makers to rip this mission apart via Eliteness program and look at how I have achieved this.Its as vanilla as possible. The task files are commented for a better explanation. Always use Notepad++ or the great Atom with latest Arma 3 plugin for opening sqf files. Its my time to give something back to the community :) Features: 1. Random Missions on random locations 2. Support modules 3. Random time and weather 4. Random chance of vehicles, and heli enemy patrols 5. New mission types 6. Field Headquarters 7. Auto cleanup after mission end (as cleanup during an ongoing mission wont allow you to rearm at dead bodies) 8. Enemy tracker action to reduce hunting time of remaining few AIs 9. AI Recruit 10. Civilians in towns 11. Oh and most important.. AMAZING FPS ;) Currently the missions are: 1. Capture Town (Uses towns as locations) 2. Capture NATO Base (Uses Military bases all over Altis and some fortifications as mission spots) 3. Destroy asset ( Will select an asset from a pool to be destroyed - Transformer, Radio Tower, Drone, Artillery unit. The arti unit may occasionally get utilized by the AI) 4. Assassinate (Eliminate enemy officer) 5. Stop the convoy (4 vehicles will form a convoy in Column formation where ends will have defence forces and middle 2 will be the deal. I mean the trucks to take out) 6. Kill the Snipers (A bunch a' snipers have wandered in to the Altis wild. Take em out) 7. Secure the intel from crash site (Beware of light reinforcements) 8. Rescue our brother (Rescue POW) 9. Destroy the mortar squad (A mortar squad has been spotted in Altis. Take em out) 10. Defend the town (A lightweight defense scenario featuring towns) 11. Skirmish (Join CSAT patrol in the wilderness. Be on the lookout for any enemy.) 12. Dog Fight (Yeah now we talkin. This is quite easily my favourite. The music, the enemy, The mission countdown, the moving task marker everything is special) 13. Caught (The enemy has found our base and conducted a rigorous operation. Wait for further orders and PRAY) 14. Like a Ghost (Reach the Rendezvous point through heli and armour patrols. No enemy infantry) ..... will keep adding unique mission types and not the cliche'. Before you play. Read this: 1. Added the awesome Bon's recruit AI script. 2. The mission will have you start in front of a flag. Use it to HALO drop wherever you need to once assigned a mission. If Dog Fight is assigned, rush to an airport. 3. Crate with Virtual Arsenal right in front at mission start so that you can choose your favourite loadout :) 4. At the end of each mission you will be teleported back to starting position with a random time. 5. I am MP illiterate. Wont be able to convert this to MP by any chance. I love SP and the convenience of playing a mission over days :) 6. Given my work schedule, please do not be angry if I dont reply to your queries quickly. 7. The reveal addaction is not a cheat, but should be used only to see that last annoying enemy left in town ;) 8. Artillery, Transportation and CAS support available. But has cooldown. 9. Each mission will have a random AO size between 2 extremes which I personally dont wish to disclose. Wont be fun to know beforehand, but I assure you its not extremely huge, nor tiny, but decent. If you insist on its knowledge, then send me a message. 10. There is no caching done here. Its not needed with such scale. I dont like the idea of a nano second lag when units spawn back. Spoils the atmosphere. 11. Spawned units are given a decent area to patrol, so even the knowledge of the AO size wont guarantee that they will remain only inside ;) This mission is a huge achievement for me being new to the scripting scene. In all 95 markers on the beautiful and behemoth Altis handpicked and tweaked which literally took days. Got to learn a lot in the forums here by some amazing and hugely talented people of the community. Especially JSHOCK, R3VO, SHUKO, PERSIAN MO, GREENFIST, RYDYGIER and LARROW who helped me in shaping it the way it is and the future of Al Inteqam. A week ago, farm laborers protesting the curfew imposed by US forces, seized and blocked the main national highway on Tanoa in La Rochelle. The Gendarmerie were told to immediately restore order. They began firing at the unarmed demonstrators, who fled into the fields and took cover. For 25 minutes the police fired volley after volley of shots into the fields where unarmed families were hugging the earth. Two laborers were killed and others wounded. The State is sending a clear message. Now Syndikat will send our own. Let this mark the beginning of effective cooperation between Syndikat and the other independent movements on the Islands. Armed revolution for the masses! INSERTION TYPES Chopper - Standard chopper insertion. If you chose the squad option then you will automatically be team-switched to the team leader to order the units to disembark once the chopper sets down - the chopper will fly off to wait for the extraction call. If the insertion chopper does not touch down (due to AI issues) then the mission scripting will be broken - restart. If you chose the squad option then ordering your units to disembark will sometimes get the AI to force land. Airborne - Drop in with parachutes to the insertion point - chutes are scripted and will automatically deploy at around 200 meters. This option should be more covert than the others. F.U.B.A.R. - This option finds your chopper shot down and your squad scattered around the crash site (if they survived at all). Equipment loadouts are random and minimal. A few items may be found near the crash site. Once you have a radio in your possession the other units in your task force that also have a radio will join your group. Units with no radio but that have a map or GPS will head towards the rendezvous point. Units with no radio or nav gear will set off any IR/Chemlight/Smoke Nades they have and hunker down. If you can locate these lost units (and you are the leader) then they will have an addAction that you can select to have them join the group. The crash site is dangerous (watch out for explosions around the wreck itself) but it may be worth checking out to see if anything (or anyone) survived. Don't take too much time looking, any nearby enemy sentries will focus in on the site. Also, if the enemy helicopter spawned it will soon be on it's way. The FUBAR option is a challenge and you'll probably spend a bit of time getting your group together before you can even go for the main objective. EXECUTION Our contacts in Tanoa have sparked the uprising known as Black Saturday. The local government, bought and paid for by the US, have reacted harshly to a farmer's strike in La Rochelle, and have ensured that they have little to no allies left on the islands. In the wake of the unrest, the US battalion stationed on Tanoa has been ordered to evacuate and only a small remnant remains. Even more importantly, VIPER has revealed that a CIA task force is still within the area and that they are using a new piece of technology that can decrypt all known radio traffic. Your main objective is to obtain the code from this module, then extract from the island before the US can counter-attack. We will have to maintain radio silence until you have the module in your hands. Turn on Comms once you've retrieved the data and we can coordinate your extraction. Phase 1 - Approach. Enter the hostile area carefully. Watch for patrols. Search and destroy. There may be armed independent units in urban areas. They are allies and will attack US troops on sight. Phase 2 - Locate. The CIA team are located in a building somewhere inside the Red Zone. Find them and the suitcase to retrieve the decryption module. Note that this task has priority over everything else, although you are free to use your discretion on how to achieve it. Phase 3 - Extraction. Once the module is in our hands use Radio Channel Alpha on your radio to call the extraction chopper to your location. You will want to make sure you are far away from any enemy AA. Again, we have total support from the civilian population. HINTS HOSTILE FORCES COS ERRORS: I was able to make the Civilian Occupation System script more stable but not error-free when running on Tanoa. If you see an error during the game it is most likely tied to COS. Some of the errors will only cause the patrol script in COS to fail but continue to run while others will cause it to error out completely. Overall, this only means that civilian spawns will stop occuring and has no impact on the mission scripting as far as I've tested. There is a parameter option to turn COS on or off as you like.

    I don't have any flashy screenshots or trailers. I'm just a new mission maker who worked really hard on this mission and it's the first one that I finally finished. The mission follows Private Ewan Nichols in a story that runs parallel to the events of the Survive campaign, as he fights for his life on the AAF-controlled island of Stratis.   25. Hello, community. - I want to create a task in the middle of a huge town. The type of the task is not important. - We all know I can simply place enemy units... and even if I use waypoints, they will be very predictable and I will almost always know their possible location and position. - For this reason and in the interest of the dynamic and immersive gameplay I am seeking, I wish to use some kind of a script that would randomly "choose" dynamicaly generated spots and positions and will spawn these groups somewhere around, let's say around the objective in a hidden marker area. - In order to achieve this I could probably create and name the groups first and use their tags in the script that is going to spawn them in this area. - The other possible way would be to include units' correct editor names (classifications) and spawn all of the included units, but this seems to be more difficult to accomplish.
