The 345th is a comfortably casual realism unit, our goal is to make high quality, OPFOR orientated realism game play that is accessible to people who don’t want to deal with the stress and drama of more rigid milsim or realism units. We play our missions in the spirit of authenticity, with corresponding real-life equipment, tactics, and settings. We embrace the practical organisation and tactics of real life militaries – but reject “Yes Sir, No Sir” roleplay of some Arma communities. We have no mandatory attendance; as long as you're still interested you won't be removed from the unit, making us a good choice for serious Arma gameplay with unpredictable real life commitments. We play a Mechanised Airlanding Company (35+ player attendance for the main event) of 1970-1990s Soviet/Russian VDV Paratroopers Our approach is realistically low-tech and period appropriate; meaning only very limited use of optics, night vision, and radios. We believe this provides the best gameplay experience, with a greater focus on tactics, cohesion and camaraderie. We're blessed with an in-house mod team that creates great content for our missions; ensuring we can enjoy Cold War Arma to the fullest. In the near future, we may play a modern 2017 Syria campaign to shake things up a bit. Our main weekly event is a custom-made, Zeus-operated campaign. Each mission is linked together and the campaign evolves based on what happens each week. Each campaign lasts around 3-6 months, with around 12-24 missions in each. We're currently running a 1970s Altis Campaign, with some custom-made gear. We also run more varied, casual events throughout the week playing as anything from WW2 to Vietnam or even Modern. I have a mission if any modder has an inclination to create a Cold War mod of epic proportions hit me up at jacksonchris1968@aol.com and put as the title of your email "mod idea". I was part of a mission of such immense proportions, had it actually happened, the battle was going to be tremendous. a couple of units in the mission were 11th ACR (Armored Cav regiment) and 8th ID Mechanized. let me know. hope to hear from someone soon. -Papa6
  3. Hello Every One Today I present two Projects And I Need Help With one of them. MASTER EFFECT FOR 64-Bit: Since Arma has been Updated To 64 Bit Executable Most of the Presets were outdate with only remaining were Real light etc I present to you Master Effect Reborn For Arma 3 64bit exe It includes and excludes from many other presets old and new It has a small amount of DOF too but not too much that it is difficult to see. Better Color saturation actually Colorfulness is more or less like Real Light V7 but not that bright which makes Rocks Glow. For this Master Effect I will provide you the settings you will need to achieve the beauty. Here some Screen Shots I know they don't look First class but Effects are great compared to vanilla game as Images were not able to capture light DoF. See The whole Gallery.   4. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint single mission "AMBUSH", using CUP USMC units. This one should resonate with some of us old school OFP players. I remember playing this demo mission from a demo disc attached to a PCGAMER mag back in the day, and I lost my mind at how amazing it was. The mission was a tough rock to crack. Very hard to get the AI to cooperate and for the mission to flow as it used too back in OFP. But finally, I've got it working to a playable standard. It's still hard though, you need to pull your weight in the squad and accept the fact the AI can be unpredictable. You'll probably need to revert to a save once or twice.   6. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint single mission "Rat Hole", using CUP Russian Federation units. Take your KA-52 and use it to smash the enemy’s base! I've replaced the V-80/KA-50 single seat helo to the KA-52 twin seat, mostly because this mission is almost impossible to play without a gunner to help you, and it just wasn't enjoyable.   10. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint campaign mission #13 "Pathfinder", using CUP USMC units. As a machine gunner, assault the village of Saint Marie and Chapoi. Take out the self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) systems (ZSU-23-4 "Shilka") so that air support can be brought in to deal with heavy armor guarding the towns. This mission was one of my favorites. It can be tough, but well worth it once you get to finish it successfully. You may have to try it a few times, your squad may make it to the end or you might end up being on your own. It plays out very much the same as the original OFP mission did which i'm very happy with.   12. I have a question concerning the details of a scenario I'm in the process of working. I'd like to simulate being part of the 11th ACR at the height of the Cold War in the 80's, roughly around the time of Able Archer 83. My problem is I can't find with exact detail the precise components of an Armored Cavalry Troop, which is roughly the same as an Armored Company. I'm aware that 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment was broken up into Squadrons, with each having an HQ Troop, 4 Armor Troops, and an Anti-Tank Troop. I know that the Armor Troops had 4 M1 Abrams each, however I'm unaware of the composition of the HQ and AT Troops. It is these I'd like to represent with some detail, which I've been unable to find. I'm aware it's a somewhat lengthy and kind of out there request, but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

I came here hoping for some assistance on a question that has been bothering me. I have something of my own personal headcanon for the events of the Armaverse, and I wanted to start making missions that take place during the Cold War. The timeline I've worked up involves a conflict between the US Army's 193rd Infantry Brigade and the Soviet 2nd Guards Motor Rifles in the year 1988. Now, I know that the M16A2 was phased into US Army service in 1985-6, but I was wondering about the feasibility of equipping my US Army infantry assets with M16A1s. I have the RH M16 pack with its well-textured and modeled M16A2s, but I recently downloaded Unsung to see the variety of Cold War assets I could translate into the 1980s setting. The M16A1 model they have is quite exquisite, and the selection of Cold War vehicles, aircraft in particular, is also very interesting. I wanted to know see if I could get some input as to what model of M16 I should use, because I can't decide. For anyone who takes the time to read this and comment, thank you very much in advance!

"It's the middle of the night and you, as a special forces soldier, have one objective: destroy the tanks in the enemy base, to give our grunts a chance in the coming offensive." Always enjoyed playing this one. It's a quick, simple, yet slightly challenging SF mission. There's some gear selection so check your inventory during the briefing.   20. CGYU - Croguy's Uniforms - Ever felt like Arma needed more accurate uniforms of obscure countries, made with more effort and quality? Then my uniforms pack is just for you! THE MOD The whole idea behind this pack is to provide the Arma community with some more unique, high-quality character textures suited for not only the current point in time of the Armaverse, but the world as a whole! More notably, that of the Cold War. There's been a lot of factions, nations, and uniforms made throughout that period -- and I'm looking to bring as many of them as I can to the table. The periods I'm aiming at are just about anything: From World War 2, to 2035, I'm sure there's plenty of patterns, designs, and uniforms that should definitely be in the game. THE UNITS The primary drive behind the mod's foundation is creation of cold war-era faction-specific uniforms and equipment sets. Of course, that's further down the line, and what I got now is enough that I think it should be shared with the general public! They're mostly just reskins of the CSAT Officer with a bit of a twist added in to make them more appropriate, but I'm striving towards increasing the quality as much as possible for an entry modder of my type. Independent is hostile towards BLUFOR and OPFOR Civilians are hostile towards BLUFOR and OPFOR Civilians are friendly toward Independent so don't kill them if you play on Independent side, your faction does need them. Squadleader's/Zeus main task is with the use of Zeus set new respawn points and support team with spawn vehicles/equipment. Rules of Engagement for BLUFOR and OPFOR: Observe the Civilians, they may have nasty things in mind ! Stop search and interrogate suspect civilians, if you find any weapons or explosives then permission is granted to eliminate him.     Czechoslovakia Ustecky Region March 15th 1987 Fury Troop, 3rd Plt along with Calvary units from Blackhorse Troop, assault the 772nd Recon HQ in the town of Bochov, in an attempt to force the remaining Soviet forces in the region to retreat or surrender. This is my fith mission in the collection Czechoslovakian Spring, it features a combined arms assault on a fortified town held by Soviet troops. Feed back whether positive or negative is always helpful. I can't improve unless i know what i'm doing right or wrong with anything.     Czechoslovakia Ustecky Region March 14th 1987 Less than 24 hours after the attack on Polna, A recon element from Nemesis Troop crosses the Elbe River, to seek out and destroy a AAA Battery. In an attempt to pave the way for air support in coming operations This is my fourth mission in the collection Czechoslovakian Spring, set not long after "Soviet Hail" which is also on the steam workshop. This mission is an SF type mission, involving reconnaissance and sabotage. Chane notes: Added weapons back to the recon team, They're standard load-out so i'd still advise you select your own gear.
