  1. Can someone please clarify, I was testing the mission update with Apex Sneak Preview branch, and discovered that BIS's revive system stopped working, and indeed, "Revive" is no more present in "CfgRespawnTemplates".

    Need help with Zeus Items

    I have a quick question about items for the new Apex expansion. My question is, If I make say, a custom bunker in Zeus on Tanoa, save it, and then try and load that into a mission on altis, will players who don't have the Apex expansion be able to see and use these items?
  3. If you have Arma 3 Apex and are either incapable or can't bother to be making some missions and content I made one myself. It's an open sandbox with every Apex vehicle, gun, and gear piece available. It features a firing range, respawn and revive system, vehicle respawns, toggle-able missions, and a fully stocked virtual arsenal. No player respawns, but you can switch between several playable characters and recruit as many or as little as you would like into your squad. You could also just go completely solo.

    Apex preview broken

    Hi, the Apex preview files are broken on Linux, and i assume that they are broken on mac too. If you try to launch Arma with the Apex Expansion Content, your game won't start with the message: Data file is too short "......" Expected ... B got .... B this effects all the Apex files, if you delete one, the next one is the reason of that message. Considering that some forums said, that data file to short means corrupted files, maybe through the download, i re downloaded the files 3 times, i even switched between Dev and the Normal Branches to have tried everything. I would have done moor, but i cant because all the content is compressed in .EBO files, therefore i cant try and mess around with uncompressing and re-compressing, maybe renaming, and such stuff. At last, i would like to thank you guys for making the Apex preview available on the experimental ports! Sincerely RageBone

Why: - Why was this removed in the first place????? - Being able to open the ramp adds immersion to the game, which is to my knowledge something BI is still going for Seriously BI, why did you guys remove this, i get that there is no fancy loading animation (and i know why not), but that doesnt mean a feature should simply be removed for no good reason. So i hope you guys could atleast explain this.
  6. The HUD of the Xi'an VTOL is quite confusing... 1. In Chinese "汽油" means gasoline, not fuel. And as the aircraft burns kerosene, I think it should be better to use "燃料"(fuel) instead of "汽油". 2. In Chinese the word "southwest" is literally "Westsouth"(西å—), not "å—西". so are the "Eastsouth"(东å—), "Westnorth"(西北) and "Eastnorth"(东北). 3. Chinese airplanes NEVER use Earthly Branches or Heavenly Stems on their compass because it is REALLY CONFUSING. Instead they simply use Arabic numerals. (After I consulted all of my friends, it seems that no one knows it at all, and we all agree that if this kind of compass really exists, it can only used by fortune-tellers, not airplanes.) 4. In Chinese aviation terms, "æ–¹å‘" should be "航å‘角", "角" be "俯仰角", and "å·" be "翻滚角". 5. Hydraulics should be "液压" instead of "水力学", as "水力学" in Chinese only refers to that branch of science. 6. When using "ä¼" for Volt, I suggest using "安" instead of "安培" for Ampere. 7. In China a gun with caliber equals or larger than 20mm is called "ç‚®", a smaller-than-20mm caliber gun is "枪". So the 30mm caseless machine gun should be "机炮" instead of "机枪". 8. In my opinion in Chinese we seldom use "åå¦å…‹"(Antitank) to describe a weapon. Instead a Chinese may prefer "导弹"(Missile) in such cases. 9. The "ç«ç®­"(Rocket) should be "ç«ç®­å¼¹". In Chinese the word "ç«ç®­" and its derivations are quite complex: "ç«ç®­"(literally "rocket") usually describes the device that shoots the satellites into the space; (In PLA publications they describe the Soviet-built FROG-7 as "ç«ç®­" instead of "ç«ç®­å¼¹" , because it's "very big") "ç«ç®­å¼¹"("rocket shells") refers to the projected missile of "smaller" rockets, like the artillery rocket, RPG rocket and (in this case) the air launched rockets. "ç«ç®­ç‚®"("rocket artillery pieces") refers to the launcher of the multiple artillery rocket; "ç«ç®­å·¢"("rocket nest") refers to the multi-tube launcher of the air launched rockets; "ç«ç®­ç­’"("rocket tube") refers to the launcher of the RPG rocket; (last but not least, be aware that a guided missile can NEVER be called a rocket in Chinese) =========Other mistakes found============ 10. The "中波" in the radio channel display should be "中频". 11. RPM should be displayed as "转速", not "转". 12. Strongly recommend to use Arabic Numerals instead of Chinese Numerals in RPM display.
  7. Greetings I have two simple questions about Apex DLC for ArmA 3. What exactly will people get more if they buy Apex DLC compare to people which will not buy it? Will the DLC price rise after its release? Thank you.
  8. JSRS4: APEX Build 4, Version 1.2, Released 22. July 2016 Description: JSRS4 APEX is a sound modification for ArmA3. The purpose of this modification is to bring new sounds to the game, making it more exciting. Many would say it makes the game much more realistic, but that is not the initial purpose of this modification. Even if some sounds are authentic to what we call "modern warfare", still the main purpose was just to create a certain type of sound feeling. Download: JSRS4 APEX 1.2 The size is real because of the new decoding. JSRS4 APEX ReadMe 1.2 JSRS4 APEX Server Side Files JSRS4 APEX Keys Only Installation: The mod comes in a ready to use status. You dont have to install anything by setup. All you would have to do is to download and open the .rar file. In there, you can find the @JSRS4APEX folder. Now you place this folder inside your ArmA3 main folder. For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\@JSRS4APEX. Once its in there you have multiple options. Either you start up the game, go under settings and into the "expansions" menu and select the mod and restart ArmA3. Or you use the integrated ArmA3 launcher that you can find in the ArmA3 main folder, go under parameters and select JSRS4 APEX under mods. Any other ways to install this mod would be nonsense and these two are the best ways, trust me.     Arma 3 Apex - content predictions?

    I'm starting this thread to discuss possible content for Arma 3 Apex. Anyone have predictions? Here's mine: To start off, factions. I personally think we'll be seeing USMC forces [BLUFOR] along with Chinese forces [OPFOR], and possibly Australian/CTRG forces [BLUFOR]. Of course, we'll likely see Tanoa's military [Independent] and a guerrilla faction [OPFOR]. Now for vehicles and weapons. It's confirmed that we'll be seeing Light Strike Vehicles and VTOLs, and possibly larger Patrol boats. Here's a list of what I'm assuming will be added: United States Marine Corps: APX - Pistol MP7 - Sub Machine Gun HK416 - Assault Rifle M27 IAR - Light Machine Gun HK417 - Sniper Rifle SMAW - Rocket Launcher ALSV - Light Strike Vehicle Cougar - Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected EFV - Infantry Fighting Vehicle M551 Sheridan - Light Tank M1A3 Abrams - Main Battle Tank UH-1Y Venom - Transport Helicopter AH-1Z Viper - Attack Helicopter V-22 Osprey - VTOL Helicopter F-35B Lightning - VTOL Fighter CB90 AMOS - Patrol Boat USMC forces would have a wide variety of modern-futuristic gear, with some assets possibly being futurized.   10. The APEX Drakon Finally, after 6 long months of development it's here... Introducing a new Unmanned Aerial System for Arma III. The jet-powered APEX Drakon offers a new way to control the battlefield in a sleek, effective way. Derived from the General Atomics Predator C 'Avenger', the Drakon comes equipped with a slew of incredible weapons and takes no prisoners. Not only was this model built from the ground up by none other than Kiory, this incredible machine comes equipped with a custom loadout editor made from scratch by AWOL, a well known Arma mod creator. Efficiency, design and quality were all key factors in creating this masterpiece. Prologue After a year into Arma's release, I had become frustrated with the vanilla UAV systems. With a game based in 2035, why were we using propeller driven aircraft? Also, why such a weak armament and why are they still extremely buggy? With those frustrations in mind, I set out to fix it myself. Meeting up with Kiory and AWOL, we began work on a new UAV system that would completely change the way UAV's would be viewed in Arma. 6 months later, the Drakon was released. While we still have a long way to go to get it where we want to, this is a step in the right direction. Addon Contents Includes the APEX Drakon .pbo file which comes with a single Drakon and a custom loadout editor built into the mod. If you'd like, please donate to our cause! DOWNLOAD LINKS HOW TO INSTALL AND USE: Simply extract the @Drakon file from the .zip folder and drop it directly into your Arma directory folder! Once in game you must spawn an ammo support vehicle next to the Drakon in order to access the APEX Support Menu. Enjoy! KNOWN ISSUES Keep in mind the Drakon is still very much in an alpha state. This is our first release and there WILL be bugs. Here are a few we are aware of: The Drakon still uses Arma III's unfavorable UAV system. We know, it's something we want to get away from. The Laser Designator doesn't spawn on the UAV unless you first apply a loadout. The UAV flight model needs to be cleaned up. It currently floats too easily and the stall speed needs to be adjusted. The UAV turret cam works when it is stowed away, allowing you to see inside the drone. This will be fixed in a future patch. For some reason the Drakon doesn't get along with ACE's missile system very well. We're looking into that. For now, avoid using with ACE. There may be many others. These are just the ones we're very aware of. Feel free to PM me with any bugs you find outside of these ones. FOR MAKING WORK WITH ACE Thanks to Bamse for pointing this out.
