  2. Hello, i was curious if it would be possible for someone to help me with a personal request/project. I was curious if someone could help (or voluntarily do themselves) me replace the US soldiers in the Cold War Rearmed^2 mod for ArmA 2? NOTE: I will only be using this replacement personally so do not worry about me turning around and uploading this to other websites for download.   4. Hello Bohemia Community; I recently ran into a really confusing and frustrating issue with Arma 3 servers, and I'm hoping for some potential insight. What's happening is that, when I connect to certain servers, the game loads into a place devoid of objects, terrain details, and even my own 1st/3rd person character model; the only things that I can see are the grass and the terrain color/texture itself (I've attached some image links). I'm absolutely certain that these images are not in debug areas too. I've connected to a good variety of servers with the same sort of outcome. Here is a small list of servers I experienced this issue: Trailerpark Wasteland on Tanoa (A3 Wasteland Version 1.3B) BIB Wasteland (A3 Wasteland Version 1.3C) BFC Exile Esseker US #2 EXP Exile Chernarus EXP Exile Napf However, to make it more confusing, these results are rather inconsistent. For instance, I can load into an A3Armory (runs A3 Wasteland Version 1.3C) hosted server, and everything would load in fine: I see buildings, terrain details like rocks and underbrush, trees, etc., vehicles, weapons, and my character model. As potential fixes to this problem, I've tried: Reverifying my game cache of Arma 3 on Steam A clean reinstall of the game itself A clean reinstall of my game mods Isolating mods reported to have issues (a Steam forum page noted that the "CUP Terrain - Maps" mod specifically had this rendering issue - the forum suggested the "Auto Detect" button in the Arma 3 video settings, but that didn't work). I'm unsure of what else I could possibly do, and so now I turn to a community that knows much more than me, at least. I hope to hear back from those of you who could possibly help.   5. Hey guys. I'm having an urgent issue. I'm planning to make an Altis total map overhaul with edited locations all over the map. Now I've hosted a local server (like we always do) and my friend tried to join. It gave him the downloadable content missing "CST_R_Tower" when he tried to connect. We tried to find it for over an hour, and I ain't too fond of editing shit with text editors as most likely I will screw it up. (Like I just did......) I removed "CST_R_Tower" three times, or how ever you call it. (I'm a total noob in scripting and stuff.) If I hit CTRL F "CST_R_Tower" showed up three times, and removed those three... Now what happened, after I removed those lines, the entire mission didn't show up in the editor anymore, and in-game, when I tried to launch it, instead of green text, it was light blue text. And when I hit "Play" simply nothing happens. I've put weeks of work into this mission, and just because I wanted to remove some mod that I can't even remember what it is, or can't even find it, it screwed my mission...     Hello, I want to make a small indie film (ultra low budget) about how horrible war is with a couple of friends. We are currently in pre-production, and one of our largest problems is to train ourselves with teamwork. Right now, I have the FFUR 2007 mod ready, and my friends have copies of Flashpoint 1.96 (so do I). I want to know that if I made a game, can my friends just put in the IP Address and join? If anybody can inform me quickly, then thank you.
  7. I've been trying to play modded missions with my friends and allow them to make custom load outs using the virtual arsenal. I've done many missions in the past without problems and i'm not sure whats going on now. Basically when I place a unit or play as a unit and go into the arsenal i have the attachment on my gun that it spawned with. Then when I click on the weapons tab in the arsenal the current attachments that I spawned in with will disappear and there will not be any attachments options showing up in the right corner like normal. If someone could help I would appreciate it a ton! this has been driving me crazy!

    So I don't know why, but when I try to change "Use Official Addons" to "Use All Addons[including unofficial addons]" in the Game Master, it won't let me. Is anyone else having this problem, and if so, how do I fix it?

    Signature Issues

    Hey Everyone. I'm currently running a modded server and have signed all the mods we are using on the server with a newly generated key. Previously I enabled checkSignatures and whenever I joined a dialogue box would come up and tell me that the mods im using dont have the right key. So I put the .bikey inside the keys folder and now instead of bringing up the box and telling me what mods dont have the right key it just throws me out after a second with the message "Session Lost" the logs for the server and the client show nothing however when I do get session lost it tells me that I had a wrong signature inside the dedicated server. I have ran DS Check signatures and it comes out without a single error. What am I doing wrong?

The mod is about a 2nd American Civil War/WW3 story line. being that the last thread got off topic and was closed i urge that anyone who is interested please refrain from political discussion, or any talk about how realistic the concept is. A little about Myself: I'm 30 years old. i'm currently writing the story line of the single player portion of the mod. What would you all think of a mod of an alternate reality Where a 2nd Civil War breaks out in america and because its ww3 and our military is busy overseas fighting China, Europe, and the Middle East. So Its up to Police, State Defense Forces, and some National Guard Forces to Not only Defend the Homefront but Also defeat a home grown, Foreign Supplied and Funded Enemy Force. Any Thoughts?
  12. Hey guys!!! So i´m here because i´m having a problem when i´m on the server, here´s the problem. So we where using a mission that was working properly on the map of LakeSide, but for some ideas, etc. We decided to chance it to Kelley´s Island, and here is where the problem begins, all the file´s are working properly, the database too but in the moment that someone spawn´s.... I have a problem with most grenades added in by mods like unsung,rhs,etc.the grenade itself appears in the game but i cant switch to it with cycle grenade nor can i throw any of it it as if the grenades are not register as a grenade at all.can anyone please help?   14. Hey peeps, Just wanted to share something I discovered. I cannot see it has been mentioned here on the BI forums before. After meddling with a ECP + WW4 + WW4EXT mod combination, I noticed that I started crashing on startup when adding a few extra islands to the mix. It seemed like some memory limit was reached somehow due to all the mods I had loaded. There were also some strange issues with sudden extreme lag, all textures (including menus) where blurry and some random objects showed the lowest level of detail, even though I was up close. I have previously messed around with mods in Morrowind/Oblivion, and remembered an application called the 4GB patch by NTCore, which basically allows 32-bit application to utilize 4GB of virtual memory instead of 2GB. This only works in 64-bit environment however. After downloading the application I patched ColdWarAssault.exe, and now it runs sweet as hell with all the mods I want. After patching, I have played approx 10 hours of single player, and have not encountered any crashes or instabilities. I was using the steam version of Arma Cold War Assault, but I also tested briefly on the GOG-version and encountered no issues there either. Just wanted to share this piece of information to anyone having similar issues. The patch can be found on the link below (please note that I have no affiliation with NTCore what-so-ever).   15. So I decided to make my own custom vest. So far...it's not showing in the game. The mod file (@The Krypt Gear) contains the addons folder. Then inside that is krypt_vest.pbo. Inside the data folder of the PBO is the texture for the vest (The_Krypt_Vest_co.paa). So it must be the config right?   16. So, I just launched A3 Editor after update to create Zeus mission and... Zeus Mod Setting doesnt working. I can just choice "All Official Addons"... Tried to launch A3 with mods and without, still doesnt working... Any ideas?
  17. So, I recently purchased a dedicated Arma 3 server, the server is running on Linux, and runs vanilla Arma 3 without any problems. I decided to test out some mods, that I plan to use on the server, at first the mods would'n load correctly and I ended up changing the .pbo files in the addons folder for each mod to all lowercase names, this fixed the loading problems and the mods seemed to load. Once I joined the server I noticed that some of the vehicle from certain mods wouldn't show up in Zeus, missions with these vehicles in them wouldn't load either, the main mod in question is "CUP Vehicles" and "CUP Units". On the other hand i'm able to use modded weapons on the server and i'm able to place "CUP Terrain" Objects through Zeus. Server Log: http://pastebin.com/bdH4L24U

I understand is not recommended to do this, but I have a portion of a mod that I wanted to add to the mission folder so that the players didn't had to download or subscribe the mod in before hand. I've managed to do this with a script based mod in which I included the cfgFunction of the mod in the description.ext (mimicking the config.cpp of the mod) and it worked. However I tried doing the same for a piece of clothing but I'm not having the same success. It doesn't appear in Arsenal so I tried to bypass it by using a "addItemCargo" to add the item to a object inventory but it's not working either. Using debug menu doesnt work either. It's not issuing any errors but it appears to be something that isn't prone to show runtime errors anyway (for example mistyping a classname it doesn't complain). The description.ext has a overload of cfgWeapons so that it includes the .hpp with the clothes scripting, alongside a overload of CfgPatches and CfgMods just in case. The mod loaded normally standalone through launcher works so it's definitively the implementation in the mission system. Any idea on what I could be missing?

  20. Hi all, I've poked around with missions scripting in the past, but I'm really looking for a concrete answer on this. I love modding and mods in general for all games, but, as a software engineer myself, I tend to get a bit paranoid of what I install / grant permissions to. When I download an Arma3 Mission or Mod, what kind of things can these do? ie. Execute .exes, include and reference compiled c++? I know that mission files are .pbo, which contain an arma scripting language, which limits itself to functionality supported by the engine. However, I've always seen a lot of references to compiled C++ code. Some mods (like Breaking Point) seem to do a lot more than just script together some gameplay behaviors so I can only assume it does a bit more than just scripting language things. Looking through the CUPs addons and BattleRoyale, I only see .pbos and a few other non-code/binaries. Are there particular restrictions on mods vs missions, how can I tell if they're trying to install/execute binaries or arbitrary code? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  21. On one of my test servers I'm currently trialling a new mod call SM_Zombz which is on the Steam Workshop. The server is running Arma 3 will full DLC including Apex. The mods are Zombies and Demons, Exile and the new mod SM_Zombz. The server works fine, loads/uses all mods as it should and everything is working correctly in game but, the launcher shows the server as not requiring any mods. It also says no DLC is required. If you go with the suggested option of "Set Up Mods and Join" you obviously get kicked. In a 3rd party proprietary launcher everything shows as it should. All correct mods showing as required and you can launch into the server without any problem. So, I'm at a loss as to why the Arma 3 launcher isn't showing the required mods and dlc... The launch params are below. I have tried with mod name as just SM_Zombz and removed the "" wrapping the -mod= parameter but, that makes no difference. "-mod=@exile;@ryanzombies;@SM_Zombz v0.3.2.3;" The mission.sqm has the addons correctly as below: addons[] = {"exile_client","A3_Ui_F","RyanZombies","SM_Zombz","brdm2","uh1h"}; On most the other server owner discord channels I've asked on, the general response is that maybe it's taking it's time. You have it set correctly because it's working and showing up in the other launcher... But, this is now 48 hours more or less.... Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance.

  23. Alrighty. So I've got a server that mostly unused right now and I decided that I might as well do something with it. The plan is to put an Invade and Annex scenario up on it with the good mods like RHS: Escalation and TFAR, since I had a hard time finding a server with those running on it. I know I'm not the only person who likes I&A and those mods, so why not combine them? Only problem is the map...I know not everyone has Tanoa but its such a great map and I really want to do it. Poll results will tell me the answer I guess.
  24. With the results of my poll in, the server has been configured and launched. It is an Invade and Annex on the Tanoa map, with the mods being RHS: Escalation and Task Force Radio.   25. Did a search and could not find an answer to this, so.... When I am aiming down a rifle sight I have clear-line-of-sight in scope cross-hairs. Then none of my hits land, only to discover they are hitting the wall in front of me, which only is only revealed in 3rd person with cross hairs. Ruins immersion and realism that line of sight is not really line of sight, and no way of knowing how much one is exposed in firefight. Is their a mod that fixes this bug/anomaly(corrects the offset), as it not something that would happen in real-life physics ? Thanks
