  1. i've got many mods and i have not launched the game in a while but now this comes up, haven't seen it before until i recently started trying to play this is the error message then crashes the game. "File maf_script\config.cpp, line 36:/CfgVehicles/:Missing '}' " i tried changing some things looking into where it might be but doesn't work. what is the thing to do?
  2. I am setting up a dedicated server and I have started adding mods. I had a problem that the server wasn't recognizing the RHS black hawk I had in the mission file which I solved by creating a copy of the arma 3 client's mod in the server root folder. I'm glad I solved the problem, but this also creates another. I have limited space on the server storage but I would like the mods to be kept up to date automatically. That's the reason I spent $8 on another copy of arma. (also because steamCMD timed out downloading larger mods) Is there a way I can use shortcuts to the mod folders in the root directory and have the server recognize it? Or is there another way to deal with the problem?

    Immortality bug

    Hello everyone, I'm new to the whole running a dedicated server thing and I have run into an issue that i don't know how to solve. As the title suggests whenever my buddies and I load into the server we notice that we are immortal to an extent. Bullets don't hurt us but explosions and vehicle crashes do. Has anyone run into this before? If you have what did you do to fix it?
  4. Hello everyone, I've made a custom mission, using custom mods (from the 506th) and additional addons, along with my own custom faction made through ORBAT. The mission works very well, just some oddball errors. To the point: My friend is able to join the server with ease, no hiccups or errors. Everything operates as normal: Joins the server, chooses a slot, I start the mission up, he downloads the mission file just fine, but then the map's loading screen (tanoa) gets stuck at around 85% of the way. On the map brief, his player even goes to the blue rectangle at that point. Hitting continue, he can still hear everything fine, just as if he were actually in the mission and I can see his name on the player he's chosen. We've tried what seems like everything at this point and I'm at a loss: - Deleted all MPMissionCache (on both of ours) - Made sure his mods works in the editor - Made sure we had the exact same mods loaded, AND in order - Applied the "fix", done correctly as done in the video, found in this video where an init.sqf is applied in the mission file and exported to the MPMissions folder, and I load THAT mission in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y4JuvoT1Gs - Restarted several times Note that when in the editor and loading this mission, or saving it for the first time in the particular editor session, I get this error: []: 'bin\config.bin/CfgPatches/tiad_506th_Light_Laser_switch/' not an array Also note that when loading the mission on the server we (both) get this error: No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWeapons.506th_atrophine'.   7. I'm testing an addon that adds things to a campaign I'm working on. At the moment the config.cpp file only adds one character to the editor and one vest. It looks like this: I have everything in its current state in a folder labeled "@Test_Mod" and inside is an addons folder and within that is the pbo titled "Test Mod.pbo". The mod shows up in the launcher and when I open the game it shows up in the bottom left corner of the main menu, but neither the custom unit nor the vest show up in-game. I'm still very new to making configs, so it's incredibly likely that I missed something, but what would it be?

  9. Frosty Tool Suite Apparently, modding Frostbite games isn't too complicated after all. Mass Effect: Andromeda & Dragon Age: Inquisition pages at Nexus Mods. Take a look at this Mod Manager Tutorial and Recommended Mods, albeit for Andromeda but it applies for other Frostbite games as well.

I tried to reinstall Arma 3 and the game asks to do a 173 GB update and, when it ends, it is canceled and starts all over again, my hd has enough space and my computer has the correct settings, because I was playing and I already have 930 hours of play. I deleted the download cache and nothing, I can't install arma 3. I analyzed my antivirus and disabled it when installing and updating. I checked the local files I checked the disk for errors, which are new and Arma 3 was installed and noticed the download folder, I cleaned the download data, restarted the PC and Steam and reinstalled windos and nothing, tried to install it again and now ARMA 3 ALREADY ASKS FOR A 337.8 GB UPDATE, ALREADY CHECK THE FILES, REPLACE THE INSTALLATION FOLDER, CHECK THE DISK ERRORS, THE CLEANED DOWNLOADS, THE CLEANED DOWNLOADS, THE ANTIVIRUS IS CONFIGURED, I HAVE ALL, AND THE GAME CONTINUES TO REQUEST AN UPDATE ON THIS SIZE BEFORE ORDERING 173 GB AND NOW PASSING TO 337.8 GB HELP ME NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. So, i'm having this issue where my mission won't load, it will load up the slot selection screen but after it is loaded, it will show the "splash" screen that shows the onLoadImage and just before the map, it will throw us back to the Slot selection screen. This mission is not much more complex than what me and a friend of mine usually do. The mission is a little bit complex but not efficiently scripted, so i thought "scripts are the issue here" but no, turns out scripts work fine, tested the mission on my computer running as a server and it worked fine, no error whatsoever, me and my friend tried playing it with no issues, but when we tried it on a small dedicated server we rented, it didn't work, so i took a look at the .rpt files, well i found that there's something i've never faced before: 20:54:59 Client: Nonnetwork object d8640140. 20:54:59 Client: Nonnetwork object d865e0c0. 20:54:59 Client: Nonnetwork object d8684180. 20:54:59 Client: Nonnetwork object d86ba140. It keeps repeating after each reset and from an extensive search on the forums, i've found absolutely nothing that helps me so far: Removed Zeus and Game Master added the description.ext Have no headless client on the server nor do i call it at any given time Does anyone has an idea as to why this happens? The mods i used: CBA_A3 Ace CUP Terrains - Core Island Panthera RHS USAF RHS AFRF RHS GREF Ace Compat for each one Last month we played a whole campaign on these mods with no issue.     Can't play Liberations

    Greetings! (First of all, sorry if this is not the correct thread for this). I've been playing Liberation for about two months. Yesterday, I've tried to play as always but I this happened: (This one is when the map is loading). (This is when I click on "continue". The camera just stays there in the air). I tried several KP Liberation maps (and also several BMR insurgency), but is always the same. This doesn't happen when I tried some workshop mission. Just happens with Liberation and Insurgency. EDIT: Sometimes these messages show up: - No Entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgPatches.exile.assets' - No Entry 'bin\config.bin/CFGVehicles/Land_HBarrierWall6_F.vehicleClass' Any solution, please?

  17. Hi guys, I just want to ask a question about what kind of vest, uniform, kit and weapons used by Seals operator during Operation Red Wings. From what I've found on the internet, the vest based on the movie is either RRV (Rhodesian Recon Vest) or Tactical Vest made by Pantac USA. The unifom is probably DCU? And the rifle is M4 Sopmod and MK 12 SPR. Does anybody here know the mod that contain said items or the equivalent/similar of it? Edit: Found the RRV from Tac vest mod and MK 12 mod 0 SPR by nemo, eventhough its not the mod 1.
  18. Hi V.5 Altis Life - Ported to the Australia map. I have ported to the Australia map i have it running on my PC through TADST for testing. Everything runs fine. I have transfered the mission.pbo (AU_Remastered_AU.australia) and the Life_server.Pbo to the server. Added all the keys to the server key folder. Mod setup on the server as follows - @extDB3;@JSRS SOUNDMOD;@life_server;@Australia 5.0.9;@D3S Cars pack;@CUP Weapons;@CBA_A3;@ace;@CUP ACE3 Compatibility Addon - Weapons; The game loads - but it just stays on a black screen. looking at the logs it does not seem to be loading the required mods - I have added a custom difficulty (see file below) I have changed the config file to - Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I've just begun modding in Arma 3, after someone approached me and asked me to help him with modding in a beret that didn't exist anywhere on the workshop yet, I did everything as he asked me to and followed closely Arma 3's limitations (10k triangles at most, no smooth shading, all triangles, taken from https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Modding_Characters). I used Blender to model the beret and managed to export it into a P3D file, then I exported its texture in a PAA file, then I created its icon and saved it as a PAA file, too. The problems began with the config file. I used a tutorial for a steel tube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxiwU94zwjg&) first, and actually spawned it in the game, it appeared in my inventory, but it didn't exist once I dropped it onto the ground, I thought that's just because I didn't add a line to the config, I don't think it's important so I ignored it Then I found an actual config file for a headgear (from https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Characters_And_Gear_Encoding_Guide#Headgear_configuration) and I thought if I just changed up some things it'd work good enough. After I was done modifying that config file and got the mod working the game wouldn't let me spawn the beret in. I didn't get any debug messages, nothing. The beret just wouldn't spawn in my inventory, as if it didn't exist in the first place. Now I know this is a long post, but I feel like I needed explained my whole "adventure", so that maybe someone gets an idea of what the problem might be.   20. Hi, I've been searching for a few months & have come to a wall in every attempt, but I keep getting an error from one of my mods.. I have been told it was from Enhanced Visuals. but I have used EV & not received the error, I was told It was the white phos NVGs but have received the error when it was not installed.. IDK what it is. I left a link to an image of the error in the attachment as well as the .pbo, where I see nothing in the indicated "line 6".. or anything else I can understand that might be causing the error.. (I am no good at this stuff, if it's more than a few lines) .. I would greatly appreciate help in finally getting this off my screen every time I jump in the game..
  21. Hello, community! I have a major issue that I need to solve without anymore problems and frustration. I have subscribed over 1200-1300 mods at all until yesterday. I wanted to unsubscribe most of them and delete the local content to spend more space on the hard disc. I needed additional space for other games and wanted to save only a few more important mods for Arma 3, especially a small list needed for a specific campaign I was working on. When I try to unsubscribe these unneeded mods from the launcher or from the workshop, they immediately will download again and there's no effect after all these attempts. How would I stop/pause redownloading of all this huge content and only subscribe my small list of addons I really need to use for my campaign? Thank you in advance and cheers!

  23. Currently, the max render distance of a weapon-mounted IR laser is 1.7km on max settings all around. Any further and the laser disappears. So I was wondering if there is a mod out there that I haven't been able to find or a script that exists to increase said render distance. Is there an engine limitation or something or what the case here The whole reason I'm asking is because as an arma pilot it would be really easy for me to just ask for a weapon-mounted laser or laso to acquire the target and also add one of these lasers to the aircraft to spot targets for friendlies on the ground with a IR laser.   25. Hello! Now, I am kind of new to the "running arma 3 server" scene but have ran certain servers before. The Arma 3 Life scene for awhile was stagnant and there was too much of a variety to choose from and the variety honestly had little to no development that actually improved the experience in game. I have been a member of life servers for over 4 years now, being on many different communities and experiencing a lot of good, bad, and frustrating times. This is why I am trying to bring back Arma 3 life to it's former glory, in 2019 it's hard to think of a good FREE server to play on besides Altis Life and maybe City Life. But I don't want Altis, or Lakeside as the map. I want a fresh brand new map built from the ground up. A place where people can experience for the first time and explore many different locations. I want fresh mods customized to bring the best roleplay experience to the community. Custom building, possibly, and custom scripts. Now, a few things are is that I NEED HELP. Specifically with development, scripting, and hosting the server. What host should I use to run the server if my connection isn't the best (because college internet). 2.
