  2. 42 COMMANDO MILSIM UNIT GRIFFIN HAR2 RHS RETEXTURE -------- About: Two distinct Griffin variants are in RAF service, the HAR.Mk 2, operated by 84 Squadron as a multi-role helicopter from its RAF Akrotiri base, and the HT.Mk 1, flown by 60(R) and 202(R) Sqns as part of the Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS). In the support helicopter role, the Griffin HAR2 carries six fully-equipped troops, or up to eight if operationally essential. It also employs underslung Bambi Buckets for fire fighting and has a vital search and rescue (SAR) mission, as well as taking force protection, military aid to civilian authorities and ISTAR roles. The Griffin HAR2 is equipped with night-vision goggles and a FLIR/ TV turret, which affords its crews a relevant night capability. Owing to the hot, arid climate of its Cyprus base, the HAR2 regularly employs its crucial fire fighting capability across the region. Other capabilities include search and rescue. The HT1 lacks the weather radar and one or two other of the HAR2’s operational features, but is equipped to deliver comprehensive multi-engine helicopter training to future frontline pilots and rear crew. It also equips 202(R) Sqn, formerly the SAR Training Unit, providing UK military helicopter pilots with SAR and mountain flying training. RHS UH1Y Retexture of the Griffin HR2 Helicopter. 3. RKSL Studios presents the Official Port of our Puma HC1. NOTE: I'm not entirely happy with this release but im getting pretty frustrated with custom animations. So much so i need a break from it, lest it get binned. So I'm releasing it as a BETA and taking a little break from the project to work on fixes for the Foxhound and some other things. The Puma HC1 first entered service in 1971, and the RAF currently has a fleet of 34 aircraft available to the front-line Support Helicopter Force. The aircraft are operated by Nos 33 and 230 Squadrons, both based at RAF Benson. The combined Puma Force is separated into 5 operational flights and an operational conversion flight, which offers flexibility in its role with both desert warfare and arctic warfare specialist equipment available for fitting to the aircraft. This model was first made in 2008. And bar a few tweaks and fixes hasn't really changed too much. The UV mapping and poly count were designed for the ArmA1 game engine. ArmA3 is far more capable and flexible than anything we had back then. Which means that this particular model is not going to be developed any further. I will continue to support the release until the new models for the HC2 and AS330 Series helos comes online. PLEASE NOTE: This build of the Puma uses a lighting system. To turn on the dash and cabin lights just turn on the aircraft lights. To turn off the external lights all you need do is retract the landing gear. PLANNED FUTURE FEATURES 100% new model. HC2 varient including: Full glass cockpit Increased power to simulate the Turbomeca Makila engines, new gearboxes and tail rotors Add option to control individual lights FINDING THE ADDON IN THE EDITOR You can find the Puma under: BLUFOR UK Armed Forces Helicopters Puma HC1 FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS Things you need to know if you intend on flying the Puma to its limits.. Speed and Limits: Vne = 257kph - Velocity Never Exceed. This is the absolute max safe speed of the aircraft. Going faster than this may result in damage to the airframe or loss of control. Notes: The Puma HC1 has a very high centre of gravity. Be careful when: taxiing during rolling landings. Max safe speed for rolling landing is 75kph Watch for loss of lift when making sharp braking turns. In AFM Try not to use too much rudder about 160kph. Similarly, be careful about pulling up rapidly and over torquing the main rotor. A WORD ABOUT REALISM We strive to make all our addons as realistic as the game engine and our own capabilities allow. This means that real world speeds and capabilities are simulated where possible. Compromises have and will be made where necessary but we will not downscale or completely cripple an aircraft, system or weapon to fit into the limited spaces some ArmA maps provide. We genuinely believe that the manual operation of aircraft is a skill that should be interesting and fun. Not every aircraft flies the same nor do they have the same capabilities. If you can't learn and adapt to change then stick with the vanilla equipment. The Puma has been designed from the ground up to use the Advanced Flight Model. A lot of effort has gone into developing it, give it a try. Its pretty forgiving and damage tolerant. Take the time to learn it and you won't be disappointed. COMMUNITY COMPATIBILITY It has always been a basic tenant of RKSL Studios design philosophy not to negatively affect other community made content. We do not replace core values or modify anything that will affect the function or experience of others. We are happy to discuss optional compatibility patches, but will not exclusively adapt our addons to anyone elses Mod standards. All RKSL Content is tested against the currently available stable build of the Vanilla game and official expansions. 4. SBS Fenrir Company is a European based unit which aims to have realistic intentions and having fun. Here we aim to have fun roleplaying as the British Royal Navy’s special forces called the “Special Boat Service”. Our missions are based around a lot around stealth, sabotage, intelligence gathering, high value target terminations and much much more. Our main code in this group is as follows: 1. Respect All players, staff and guests are to be treated with respect at all times. 2. Communication In this group we do not talk about each other, we talk with each other. 3. Fun We are a basically a group of people just wanting to have some fun together. Don’t be that guy that changes because of a rank or that is being a meme all the time We have Campaign Operations every weekend (Usually on a Saturday, just whenever the host is free) and Training every week to constantly improve on being a good, consistent Arma player whilst enjoying our time. If this has grabbed your interest just hop in the discord and we can recruit you into our ranks: https://discord.gg/67ZYkpC I hope to see you amongst our other brothers! Best regards, Sergeant "Dagger"
  5. The Wrecking Crew The Wrecking Crew is a realism group that prides itself in its dedication to realistic and enjoyable game play, without the rigid aspects like permanent ranks and having to shout "Yes, sir" at a 14 year old. While we play mostly as British Forces to make coherent training possible, we have a whole host of players who come from all over the world, some as far out as Malaysia and South Africa. You select the role you'd like each week for our editor-driven operations, as long as you are competent and prove yourself by passing the required training sessions for that role, with some not requiring any. This allows you to vary from leading a platoon one week to driving a tank the next. The freedom to experience so many different types of game play without hindrance on the co-operation & enjoyability is something you will struggle to find in most other ArmA groups. Public Server If you would like to experience first hand what it's like to play with TWC, come join us on our public server. It runs different dynamic game modes made entirely in-house with a more relaxed game play than in our operations, but it will still give you a good insight in the community and play style. You don't need to sign up to participate on our public server, just the mods and to connect to our TeamSpeak server. We've created an easy to follow guide on how to get connected here. About our Operations Alongside a public server that runs 24/7, the biggest event our group hosts are weekly 'Operations' with between 20 to 40 people. As well as the occasional 'Joint Operation' with other groups which have encompassed up to 70 people total. Our operations span over a century of warfare, with a monthly rotation of World War 2, Cold War, Turn of the Millennium and Modern Operations. This means that in one month you can liberate a French town from Nazi occupation, halt a Soviet mechanised assault in the plains of Northern Germany, brawl with Iraqi armour in the deserts of Kuwait and patrol through the hills of Afghanistan, searching for insurgents. In these operations any recruit or member can play any role as long as he has received the corresponding training. In our operations we strive for maximum realism. We find real-life solutions for problems that we may face in game, while omitting more tedious parts of military duty like saluting, hour-long marches and range etiquette. We aim for the most immersive experience possible by having minimal HUD, first person only, a single life and using ACRE 2 for communications. Our operations take place on Saturday at 18:30 (UK time) and can last up to four hours or more. Interested in trying it out? If you're interested in participating in public, or signing up to try out our operations, you can check out our website for more information: http://www.thewreckingcrew.eu/. Alternatively, you can contact us on Discord, or pop directly onto TeamSpeak where any member will be willing to help you join with no hassle.

We habitually functions as small independent teams in order to inform and guide friendly forces whilst also disrupting and confusing our enemies. We are also one of the leading members of the cross community organisation Nato Forces of ArmA 3 [NFA]. 9. Metropolitan Police Specialist Firearms Command is looking for new recruits to join our Milsim group. MPSSFC has decided that there really is little to no real Police Milsim units available to join we decided to base ourselves on the UK SFC with sub-divisions of CTSFO and SC&O19 we would like to think that we are not that serious of a Milsim unit we don't command an ultimate level of professionalism and seriousness we just ask that people act appropriately depending on the scenario but for the most part we just want people to enjoy themselves. We accept anyone from anywhere (You don't have to be from the UK to join that is not the case) as long as the applicant meets the application criteria and 16+ and able to speak English. If you wish to join our unit please fill out this simple application form: https://goo.gl/forms/Elj8HX51kFnHHIcw1 Alternatively, you can join our Teamspeak server and find out more and come have a chat with a member of staff! 10. Annnd we're back. After a 6month hiatus for personal reasons things have finally settled down and we're slowly starting to pick up where we left off. To that end I am delighted to announce that we will soon be releasing the ArmA3 native Typhoon v3.000. All the joys of ArmA3 features and the usual RKSL ones... Fully working mirrors BIS flares Engine & Smoke effects PhysX support Tweaked Flight model Improved Air Weapons Pack All previous ArmA2 plugins brought over to ArmA3 And a few more... Frequently Asked Questions Q: Will WIP Wednesdays be returning? A: Yes but only once at the end of each month. As much fun as they were they turned into a bit of a monster in terms of time to prepare and publish. They took quite a lot of time away from the actual act of making content which wasnt the point. Q: Will you be bringing all the old RKSL content over? A: Yes, eventually. One by one we will port the existing models over and include the new ArmA3 features. The first releases will be direct ports with the basic A3 features etc. Later releases will see improvements or in some cases new models. Q: What about new content? A: Yes there will be some new content but we are going to focus on the stuff we have shown you already in the previous WIP Wednesdays. Q: When are you going to release XXXXX addon(s) A: If you've been hanging around in this community long enough you already know the answer to that. If you are new... (Old timers all together now)... "When its done!!" :P Q: Whats happening with IAP? (Ilhas Africanos Project) A: We'll create a new thread for that at the appropriate time. Thats all for the moment. Keep an eye on the RKSL website for more details. www.RKSLStudios.info
  11. As promised, the RKSL Christmas tradition continues, Here's the second release. RKSL Studios presents the Official Port of our Foxhound LPPV. The Ocelot Foxhound LPPV was specifically designed to meet the UK MoD’s £200m LPPV programme requirements and replace the Snatch Land Rovers in use with the army. The Snatch Land Rovers have been criticised for their inability to provide protection against IEDs and roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan. The LPPV programme’s objective was to have 400 light protected patrol vehicles production ready by 2010. The UK MoD purchased two Ocelot Foxhound vehicles for testing in April 2010. The invitation to tender (ITT) was issued in May 2010. In September 2010, the Ocelot Foxhound LPPV was selected under the programme against the contender Supacat and NP Aerospace consortium’s SPV400. An initial £180m order for 200 Ocelot Foxhound vehicles was made through urgent operational requirements (UOR) process in November 2010 In December 2011 a further 100 Ocelot Foxhounds were ordered as part of a £400m package of protected vehicles and Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) technology for British Forces in Afghanistan. The contract was finalised in June 2012. The UK MoD also plans to acquire additional 25 vehicles at a cost of £30m. ArmA2 to ArmA3 This is an improved port of the original A2 release into the A3 game engine. The model itself is largely unchanged with some minor edits to add features and fix some old material bugs. This version also supports some of the newer A3 features such as texture customisation. GPMG Iron sights - When I asked an RAF Regiment Gunner (that spent 3 tours on the Foxhound) how easy was it to use the iron sights on the Foxhound he replied, "Nearly impossible, the pivot system doesn't let you in most angles unless you are very tall and can twist yourself in knots." When I asked him how he aimed he replied, "That's what tracers are for". Engine Power - The current engine/physx setup approximates the real world power. ArmA simply cannot simulate the range of the real world gearbox. Simply put these are not as fast as the vanilla ArmA MRAPS but they are easier to use at patrol speeds. 12. 51st Infantry Brigade Headquarters Scotland Milsim Unit Who are we? We are the 51st Infantry Brigade, established in early 2016 we have created a community emulating the 51st and using Her Majesty’s Armed Forces tactics, ranks and doctrine. As a whole our community consists of like-minded lads who wish to play Arma 3 together in a structured, professional yet fun environment. Our in-house training program has a realistic yet applicable training regime called the Combat Infantryman's Course and teaches recruits all they need to know to operate within a training, live-fire exercise or a deployment around the globe. When do we play? Our official events are hosted on Saturday's at 19:30 GMT, those who wish to attend must have completed at least phase one training. Throughout the remainder of the week we offer unofficial events which individuals can partake in regardless of their Phase 1 training status, these range from section based training's to playing in-house missions created by our G3 staff office. Although we are an Arma 3 military simulations unit, we host other events within games such as Squad or Digital Combat Simulator along with the many other simulation based games. Available Roles Fundamentally, each and every member who goes through our phase training program is trained as an Infanteer although everyone will receive specific specialist role training. Upon completing your Phase 1 and 2 training you’ll be assigned to an infantry section by one of our G1 staff members. We have support assets attached to our brigade, these range from Medical, Signals, Artillery and Engineers. Those who display an interest in entering one of our assets will have to serve time in one of our infantry sections (1 month active service - exception being an Urgent Operational Requirement) before transferring to their desired role within the brigade itself. What are we looking for? - A mature and professional attitude. - Willingness to learn new things. - A working headset & microphone. - The ability to set aside time for our main events at 19:30 - 22:30GMT. - Dedication to the unit and adhere to our no dual-clanning policy. - Have a sense of character & humour. Under the Age of 17? Although we have a 17 year old and above age limit, those who don’t meet our age requirements and are between 12 - 16 years of age are eligible to apply for our cadet programme and will undergo the same training regime as the regulars themselves. Those in the cadet programme are monitored through an extended probationary period to gauge their level of maturity and level of professionalism. If they meet our standards they can take up a leadership position within the cadets or they can be reassigned to the regular portion of the unit before they meet the age requirements. Either way once they reach the age limit of 17 they will be moved to the regulars. The Application Process There are a few ways you can get involved, you can simply join our TS server and join the ‘Looking for a G1 Recruiter’ and ask any questions you have on joining the 51st Infantry Brigade. You can also make your way to our website which is available at the bottom of this post, create an account on the forum and reference the ‘Information for Applicants’ post in the Enlistment area. 13. 2 PARA is a British Realism unit. We started off in ARMA 2 in 2014, but have now returned in ARMA 3, with many of our old members joining back to re-create the fun we had back then. Our aim is to provide a realistic, but fun experience to all of our members through our high quality missions every Saturday at 8pm GMT (Or BST during summer). We use a variety of mods, such as ACE, ACRE, and a collection of British Unit and vehicle mods to allow us to emulate the parachute regiment. Why join us? We play Arma in a tactical, realistic way, using teamwork to achieve our objectives. We have a simple phase one training, therefore this group is perfect for those that want a mature, tactical community, but maybe don’t have the time or the interest in hyper-realistic milsim groups as we don't try to match the real world procedures. The term we use to describe this is 'casual milsim'. If you cannot attend every mission due to other commitments or uncertainty, you can also join the reserves; this allows you to join in when you’re able, although you won’t be able to have any specialist roles. Requirements We have some basic requirements we ask from people joining, but the most important is for people to be mature when we are playing: Mature Working Microphone Own Arma 3 (No DLC required) Speak English fluently Can attend trainings/missions at times above (unless reserves) Not in another group already (that clashes with our times) Extra Info We use highly modified and simplified British tactics to fit the game. Our main aim is to have fun. We aim to achieve this by using teamwork in an efficient and professional manner. The ranks we have are 'functional’. They only exist to fit their own function. For example, as we are only up to one section currently, there is only a need for a Cpl to lead them. We are based on the Parachute Regiment, therefore our main role in conventional warfare will be para-drops and air assaults. Whereas, in counter insurgency campaigns, we will be replicating what most modern forces do in conflicts like Afghanistan and Iraq. You do not need a specific interest in the Parachute Regiment or the British Army to join, although you will get most out of the unit if you do. If this post has managed to persuade you to sign up or at least ask a few more questions of what we can do for you, then either sign up on the website - https://2-para.co.uk/ - or, add me on Steam - razer313 Thanks for reading, hope to see you soon!

You must be 18 years old or older, have a working microphone and be able to regularly attend operations on Wednesday and Sunday from 8 pm to 11 pm UK time. Additionally, we do not allow our members to be in any other ArmA milsim communities, this is because we expect a high level of commitment from all our members. You can be in as many non-milsim/non-Arma communities as you like, so long as they don't interfere with your commitment to The 16 Air Assault Brigade. 18. What is our unit? The Essex Regiment is a Second World War UK based unit that attempts to recreate a realistic portrayal of the British military during the mid 20th century period. We are a serious milsim, meaning that when on operations, members should be serious and follow designated procedures. The Essex Regiment focuses mainly on conventional warfare, meaning most missions will be lively and kinetic. Occasionally we may also perform counter-insurgencies and other less conventional operations. The Essex Regiment uses a rank system based on the British Army during the Second World War period. In our unit, players will receive promotions and commendations based on their merit and dedication with the unit and not solely based on their role. This means that members will be rewarded for their capability, knowledge and time devoted to the unit. Who is our unit based on? We are based on the Essex Regiment. It fought during many of the different campaigns throughout the Second World War. From the battle of France in 1940 until the fall of Germany in 1945. Our unit won't strictly follow all the campaigns followed by the Essex Regiment as we feel that campaigns such as Norway and Burma and others set in the final days of Empire will allow for differentiation in combat and environment. However the unit will try to stick as close as possible while keeping game-play fun and engaging and will undertake campaigns in a chronological order of events mirroring the events of the Second World War and its immediate aftermath. When do we play? We have two events a week. We conduct exercises and training on thursdays at 2000 GMT (in summer this changes to GMT+1) and operations on sunday at 2000 GMT (again changing to GMT+1 in Summer). How can I join? If you're interested in joining our unit, you must be of 16 years of age or above. If you are below 16, it is possible that you may still join the unit but you must have a mature attitude. The interview process will take a bit longer as your place in the unit will be discussed with other interviewers. Be aware that if you are caught lying about your age after being accepted into the unit, you will be removed from the unit. To join our unit, feel free to add and message one of our officers (As indicated in our Steam Group) or alternatively come chat to us in our team-speak or Discord: Teamspeak: 95.172.92.113:9990 Discord: https://discord.gg/YbXg49h Steam Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Essex_Regiment Once you've shown interest in joining our unit, you will be asked to attend an interview at a time that is convenient for you. In this interview, you will be asked a variety of questions including your age, any previous Arma experience and questions about yourself. Don't be discouraged by this interview process as it is more to find out more about you and where we think you would fit best. Once the interview process is complete and you have shown promise, you will be accepted into the unit. You will be invited into the Steam group and be able to join the Essex Regiment in all its operations and other activities.
  19. Description:Unhappy with the ingame Mora IFV, we have decided to edit it with the aim of making it more true to its real-life counterpart. We basically nerfed the hell out of it to make it more realistic. As I'm doing all this on my HP Probook, I'm not able to provide a demonstration video (of decent quality) at this time. I'll do my best to sort something out in the near future. Features: - Woodland and Desert retextures (reworked Grace's textures) - Added Woodland and Desert SLAT armour and camouflage nets- Autocannon (L21A1 RARDEN) has 6 round magazines and a lot slower rate of fire- RARDEN uses correct ammunition and a realistic amount (27 HE-T and 15 APDS-T magazines)- RARDEN doesn't reload automatically (the gunner has to press R or select the ammunition type)- Tweaked reload times - Coaxial machine gun (L94A1 Chaingun) has 11 magazines of 200 rounds and also a lot slower rate of fire- Turret traverse and gun elevation has also been slowed down to a realistic level- Turret stabilisation removed- The gunner can traverse (and fire) when turned out - Weapon safety- ACE inventory for a full section replen- And other small tweaks... On the RARDEN... The weapon has a pretty unique reload system that we, due to engine limitations, were not able to simulate fully. In reality it uses 3 round clips, two of which can be loaded in the magazine at the same time. Now the trick is, you can fire all six rounds in automatic, however the reload will be slower because the next round has to be manually cranked into place by the commander (we also couldn't get the commander to reload and select ammunition type, seems to be hardcoded to the gunner). But, if you fired just the first three rounds, the commander would be able to put another clip in the magazine and cranking wouldn't be necessary. In short: we had a choice between reloading every three rounds or having a slower reload every six. In the end, we've decided that it was more important to have 6 rounds ready to go if the situation requires it. On ACE 3 dependency... I honestly have no clue why it depends on it... The vehicle breaks completely when launching without it. It seems to be an inheritance issue, which is strange because it inherits from the vanilla APC_Tracked_03_base_F, autocannon_30mm and LMG_coax. I would love to make it vanilla friendly, but for the time being we've put in ACE items in the inventory since it already depends on it. If anyone could provide assistance with the reload system or the ACE dependency it would be greatly appreciated! 21. An unidentified sniper from the elite Joint Task Force 2 made the shot from a distance of 3,540 meters using a U.S.-made McMillan Tac-50 rifle and Hornady 750 gr Amax ammo chambered in .50 BMG cartridge! The Canadian Armed Forces confirmed Thursday that a member of Joint Task Force 2 made the record-breaking shot, killing an Islamic State insurgent during an operation in Iraq within the last month. The elite sniper was using a McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle while firing from a high-rise during an operation that took place within the last month in Iraq. It took under 10 seconds to hit the target. “The shot in question actually disrupted a Daesh [Islamic State] attack on Iraqi security forces,” said a military source. “Instead of dropping a bomb that could potentially kill civilians in the area, it is a very precise application of force and because it was so far way, the bad guys didn’t have a clue what was happening.” The military source said the JTF2 operation fell within the strictures of the government’s advise and assist mission. “As stated multiple times in the past, members of the Canadian Special Operations Task Force do not accompany leading combat elements, but enable the Iraqi security forces who are in a tough combat mission,” the statement said. “This takes the form of advice in planning their operations and assistance to defeat Daesh through the use of coalition resources.” The kill was independently verified by video camera and other data. “Hard data on this. It isn’t an opinion. It isn’t an approximation. There is a second location with eyes on with all the right equipment to capture exactly what the shot was,” another military source said. A military insider told The Globe: “This is an incredible feat. It is a world record that might never be equalled.” The world record was previously held by British sniper Craig Harrison, who shot a Taliban gunner with a 338 Lapua Magnum rifle from 2,475 metres away in 2009. Previously, Canadian Corporal Rob Furlong had set the world record in 2002 at 2,430 metres when he gunned down an Afghan insurgent carrying an RPK machine gun during Operation Anaconda. Weeks before, Canadian Master Cpl. Arron Perry briefly held the world’s best sniper record after he fatally shot an insurgent at 2,310 metres during the same operation. Both soldiers were members of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. U.S. Sergeant Bryan Kremer has the longest confirmed sniper kill shot by a U.S. soldier. He killed an Iraqi insurgent with his Barrett M82A1 rifle at 2,300 metres in 2004. JTF2 special forces are primarily tasked with counterterrorism, sniper operations and hostage rescue. Much of the information about this elite organization is classified and not commented on by the government. The unit’s snipers and members of Canadian Special Operations Regiment, who are carrying out the main task of training Kurdish forces, have been operating in tough conditions in Iraq. The Trudeau government pulled CF-18 fighter jets out of Iraq in 2016 but expanded the military mission, which will see the number of Canadian special forces trainers climb to 207 from 69 in an assist, train and advise mission. Canadian commandos are not supposed to be involved in direct combat, but are authorized to go up to the front lines on training missions with Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and to paint targets for coalition air strikes. For operational security reasons, sources would not reveal the names of the elite Canadian sniper and his partner, nor the location where the action took place. A sniper and his observer partner are often sent to remote and dangerous locations to hunt down insurgents while having to carry heavy equipment. Once they have located the target, snipers follow the same methodical approach before each shot. Breathe in, out, in, out, find a natural pause and then squeeze the trigger. Canada has a reputation among Western military forces for the quality of its snipers, despite the small size of the Canadian Armed Forces compared to the United States and Britain. “Canada has a world-class sniper system. It is not just a sniper. They work in pairs. There is an observer,” a military source said. “This is a skill set that only a very few people have.” The skill of the JTF2 sniper in taking down an insurgent at 3,540 metres required math skills, great eyesight, precision of ammunition and firearms, and superb training. “It is at the distance where you have to account not just for the ballistics of the round, which change over time and distance, you have to adjust for wind, and the wind would be swirling,” said a source with expertise in training Canadian special forces. “You have to adjust for him firing from a higher location downward and as the round drops you have to account for that. And from that distance you actually have to account for the curvature of the Earth.” Source: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/06/23/how-canadas-tiny-military-produced-deadly-record-breaking-snipers/?utm_term=.654ffa726d7c https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/canadian-elite-special-forces-sniper-sets-record-breaking-kill-shot-in-iraq/article35415651/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_recorded_sniper_kills Their Loadout Specs (Most Likely): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-evVfZruOxISVpISjB1Wld0OW8/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-evVfZruOxIUi1UTkppQmF0Y00/view

  23. INTRODUCTION The Guards Armoured Division is a serious attitude British World War II milsim unit. Our primary focuses are teamwork, historical accuracy, operational realism and enjoyable experience. Roots of the unit date back to May 2017. To describe our unit the best, we’re a unit that is heavily influenced by history of the real Guards Armoured Division during World War II. Our unit is medium sized and the leadership of the unit has a great amount of experience of running units in Arma from the past. Currently, we expect a playerbase of 30+ on our operations. Feedback is heavily valued in order to shape the unit for us all to enjoy. Ranks are given according to their need and leadership skills, rather than as a reward for good performance. We have different and enjoyable supportive branches to join that won't completely take your infantry experience. Many opportunities to conduct historical operations focused on various nations. Allied with several other WW2 British units. Relaxed attendance (under Leave of Absence report), operational seriousness. New player friendly. DETACHMENTS Motor Platoon Motor Infantry Sections are the main backbone of our operations. They're operating out of their designated vehicles (M5 Halftracks, Bren Carriers & others, depending on Operation setting) and they're composed of two Groups. There are three in a regular Platoon. HQ Section is the section which commands the Motor Platoon in the field and coordinates the operation with the Armoured Troop and Carrier Platoon. This usually holds 6-7 men, and sometimes holds a Mortar / PIAT detachment depending on the situation. Our Motor Platoon represents the 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards in main operations. Carrier Platoon Carrier Platoon is an Infantry Section operating in smaller groups and utilizing the nimble Universal Carriers. They often carry out Scouting duties before major engagements. On foot, without their Universal Carriers, these lads still create a solid threat to the enemy troops, and are in no way less prepared for contact than their Halftracked counterparts. Our Carrier Platoon represents the 1st Battalion, Welsh Guards in main operations. Armoured Troop Armoured Troops are utilized in majority of our operations, using a wide variety of vehicles depending on their task. (Such as Sherman I or Sherman Vc Firefly or Stuart VI) Their primary role in the main operations is to take the vanguard in major advances, but may also be deployed as Armoured Reconnaissance Troop if the situation requires it. Our Armoured Troop represents the 2nd (Armoured) Battalion, Grenadier Guards in main operations. Royal Army Medical Corps Our medical branch. Their task is to keep everyone in the Battlegroup up in good shape and providing medical service. OPERATIONS Our attendance policy is far from being strict. We are aware of real life issues that everybody may have at any chosen point of their life, as well as their regular out-of-game duties. We can understand whenever somebody isn’t able to play the whole week due to their work schedule. Schedule: FRIDAY - Main Operation - 7 PM GMT / 8 PM CET / 2 PM ET SATURDAY - Bonus Operations - 7 PM GMT / 8 PM CET / 2 PM ET SUNDAY - Basic Training and Exercises - 7 PM GMT / 8 PM CET / 2 PM ET REQUIREMENTS & JOINING It is required that applicants are at age of at least 15 and have a working microphone. If you’re willing to join, join our discord for more enlistment info. A new member starts at the rank of Recruit. Recruits are gentlemen that had just joined the unit and hadn't completed their basic training course yet. 24. Well its Christmas, and barring the last few years, its always been an RKSL Studios tradition to release new addons at Christmas. He's the first of this years escapees. RKSL Studios presents the WK450 Watchkeeper 450 Remotely Piloted Air System. The Watchkeeper WK450 is a Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) for all weather, intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) use by the British Army. It has a mass of 450 kg, a typical endurance of 17 hours, a payload capacity of 150 kg and uses a rotary Wankel engine. It can operate up to 150 km from the Ground Control Station (although multiple stations can be linked to extend the range). It was originally intended to enter service in June 2010, but years of delays, technical issues, hardware modifications, difficulties in training sufficient pilots and incidents means that it is not expected to be fully operational until late 2017. 25. Hi all! Just some forewarning, I am a complete beginner level modeler (in my opinion) and also know zero about texturing, coding, etc. Me, being me, decided I really wanted to get the ol' Chieftain into ArmA 3, and since I enjoy Blender, whipped up a chassis model. Here it is: I know, I'm completely unqualified to take on this task, but I've really wanted to get into vehicle mods for ArmA 3 and figured I might as well try getting one of my favorite vehicle's in, with some help of course. That in mind, I've come here to hopefully get some advice from folk's who know their stuff, or are just willing to toss in their two cents. 1. I'm completely uncomfortable trying to make the turret, as it has a certain shape that I find very difficult to replicate, and I don't want to put something on this tank that I don't feel is authentic and respectful to the real vehicle, any advice on how to tackle this piece is appreciated. 2. I've never managed to successfully make a respectable texture for the vehicle's I've made, and was wondering if anybody could offer me some aid/advice on how I should go about whipping up some proper, decent quality textures, especially camo-type textures like so: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/22/73/1a/22731a4726741d178a36c884679c524f--carri-armati-model-tanks.jpg Keep in mind I don't have access to Photoshop, but I have installed Gimp. 3. I've got a plugin on Blender (ArmA Toolbox is the name) which allows me to convert my model from Blender to ObjectBuilder with LOD's and such attached, but I'm unsure how to go about creating those LOD's in either program since I'm a dummy, if someone could enlighten my dysfunctional brain, that'd be wonderful. 4. I've tried finding information on the specifics of getting a tank into ArmA 3, config and ObjBuilder wise, but I can't find much at all beside's the WIKI, which I have difficult grasping, am I just dumb or is this stuff not well documented? I think I've mentioned everything I was worried about but just for clarity's sake, I'd like to mention that I am eager to get into the whole process, as I've always wanted to create vehicles and weapons for my favorite game, but lacked the courage to ask the people who actually know how to do it. So yeah, that about wraps it up, thanks for taking the time out of your day to check and read this far, I really do appreciate it. Hopefully I put this in the correct area, if not I apologize and please move it, thanks!
