  1. Mission Statement Reaper crew is a professional ArmA 3 unit looking to balance quality gameplay with military style realism and tactics. A great deal of ArmA 3 units are based around a specific military organisations and, coupled with the desire for realism often comes with the added encumbrance of less than exceptional gameplay and tedious training sessions. Here at Reaper Crew, we aim to embody our mentality of 'prevail through professionalism', providing our members with a level of serious, professional and immersive gameplay without detracting from a simple fact. We're all here to have fun. We are based in the UK. Operations and Events Our regular main weekly event is every Saturday at 20:00 UK Time (GMT) Core Principles As a unit, we aspire to embody some core priciples that are the basis for our community: Be professional - At the core of everything we do is professionalism. We strive to create an environment that everyone can be proud of. Quality over quantity - We are far from the largest unit, and with this comes a requirement to perform at our maximum ability. Put the work in, and the experience is greatly enhanced for all Your input matters - Everyone's opinions are important. If you have something you feel you want to say. Say it! Give & take - We aim to be as accepting as possible of real life, plans change, emergencies happen. We don't seek to discipline or criticse those who cannot turn up every now and again. We encourage this give and take attitude to go both ways. Can't make the weekly event? No worries! Perhaps host something during the week for your fellow community members as a way of giving back! What are we looking for? If you would like to get involved, you must have meet the below criteria with no exceptions: Be aged 16+ Speak English to a good level Be willing to commit to regular events All new members will go through a very basic training course to ensure that the base level of tactics and procedures are understood, any additional training is usually acquired 'on the job'. 2. Rather than continuing to release Spearpoint as a monolithic mega-mod, I'm breaking it down to enable faster updates and to give players the customisation to create a set up that suits their group (in the same vein as 3CB and others). This post details the weapons packs of this mod. Coming soon: Fully featured FN Fal & more Latest release: L2 Sterling SMG Get it now on Steam Workshop The L2, ubiquitously known as the "Sterling" after its place of manufacture, is a British submachine gun in service with the British Army from 1953 to 1994. Originally developed by George William Patchett during World War II as a replacement for the Sten gun, the Sterling submachine gun enjoyed post-war success both domestically and internationally. It continues to be used by some police and military forces around the world. First release: Lee Enfield No.4 & L42A1 pack Get it now on Steam Workshop Post WW2 the Lee Enfield became one of the most widely available weapons in the world. Cheap, reliable and accurate, it saw use by nations big and small, insurgencies and police forces and more. Want to keep up to date on all Spearpoint releases? Subscribe to the core Spearpoint mod here, all future releases will be added as dependencies. Also, Join the Discord! Credits License

  4. 42 COMMANDO MILSIM UNIT GRIFFIN HAR2 RHS RETEXTURE -------- About: Two distinct Griffin variants are in RAF service, the HAR.Mk 2, operated by 84 Squadron as a multi-role helicopter from its RAF Akrotiri base, and the HT.Mk 1, flown by 60(R) and 202(R) Sqns as part of the Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS). In the support helicopter role, the Griffin HAR2 carries six fully-equipped troops, or up to eight if operationally essential. It also employs underslung Bambi Buckets for fire fighting and has a vital search and rescue (SAR) mission, as well as taking force protection, military aid to civilian authorities and ISTAR roles. The Griffin HAR2 is equipped with night-vision goggles and a FLIR/ TV turret, which affords its crews a relevant night capability. Owing to the hot, arid climate of its Cyprus base, the HAR2 regularly employs its crucial fire fighting capability across the region. Other capabilities include search and rescue. The HT1 lacks the weather radar and one or two other of the HAR2’s operational features, but is equipped to deliver comprehensive multi-engine helicopter training to future frontline pilots and rear crew. It also equips 202(R) Sqn, formerly the SAR Training Unit, providing UK military helicopter pilots with SAR and mountain flying training. RHS UH1Y Retexture of the Griffin HR2 Helicopter. 8. Hello all, I am pleased to present my second attempt at making a map - Ypres 1917. Background The map is a WW1-based terrain set during the Third Battle of Ypres, 31st July-10 November 1917, also known as the Battle of Passchendaele although the heightmap and satellite are randomly generated/custom made. For this reason, the Arma 3 WW1 mod is highly recommended. When the map is released in full it is possible that it will also become integrated into that mod, but for now any earlier version will be independently released. Features Map Size - 2km by 2km. The map features over 2.5km of trenches, both front line and communication trenches. Various underground bunkers/ dressing stations. The map features transitions from a small rear area, untouched by war, into the front line and no man's land. There is an airfield behind the lines in this area. Several fortified strong points along the front line, including a ridge with several pillboxes and outposts as well as a sector of the trench that is integrated into the ruins of a village. Different types of sectors along the front line. Because of the size of the map, a single, unbroken continuous trench line would be boring to make and play on. Instead, I've tried to add some variety to the terrain in different parts. One sector of the front line is flooded partially and composed of multiple outposts or fortified shellholes. Another sector features several separated but mutually supporting slit trenches in a forest. The fairly small gaps between different sectors are covered by barbed wire and pillboxes etc. A few artillery positions/emplacements. 2 half-destroyed towns. No man's land - ranges between 300-100m between the opposing trenches. Covered with shell-holes with varying depths that offer cover. Gameplay/playability One of the main issues about making a WW1 map is the Arma 3 AI. The AI aren't really capable of moving within the longer lines of trenches, but I've altered the map in some areas to improve AI playability. Some parts of the trenches are separated for 5-10m which allows the AI to pass through the front line into the rear, or likewise to pass through trenches on the way to attack. At some point I am going to add some better sheltered forming-up positions which will allow the AI to attack or reinforce with ease, making it possible for them to gather for an attack but out of sight of the opposing trench. The AI can't really enter or jump into the opposing trench line unless there are gaps, but they will attack it and stand on the parapet, letting them shoot into the trench. They are however capable of defending trenches pretty easily, and quite effectively, as they just need to be placed on the fire-steps. The AI perform much better around the less complex slit-trenches, which they sometimes are capable of entering/moving around. The shorter the distance between waypoints the better. Sometimes the AI will try to avoid passing through trenches completely and will detour huge distances to get to a waypoint behind the front line. However, this can be avoided if waypoints are placed close to each other. I highly recommend VCOM AI for attacking AI, although it should be disabled on defending AI to prevent them moving and glitching through the trench models. Gameplay - The map requires some skill/planning to attack an opposing trench. E.g. A frontal mass infantry assault in daylight without artillery will fail. However, in order to pull off a successful attack it's necessary to carefully use smoke and artillery, and make use of the cover in shell holes. Anyone willing to playtest the map is welcome. The mod uses assets from IFA3 as well as the WW1 mod, so both are required. To-do list / problems Add more reserve lines of trenches. This should allow for scenarios with multiple stages of attack. Polish the map and tidy up some of the messier sectors of trenches. Add more textures to the map. The current satellite image is provisional, and might be changed. Add more cover to no man's land in the form of craters, debris etc. Make the map in general, but specifically the trenches more easy for AI to use Screenshots Any feedback is welcome.
  9. Metropolitan Police Specialist Firearms Command is looking for new recruits to join our Milsim group. MPSSFC has decided that there really is little to no real Police Milsim units available to join we decided to base ourselves on the UK SFC with sub-divisions of CTSFO and SC&O19 we would like to think that we are not that serious of a Milsim unit we don't command an ultimate level of professionalism and seriousness we just ask that people act appropriately depending on the scenario but for the most part we just want people to enjoy themselves. We accept anyone from anywhere (You don't have to be from the UK to join that is not the case) as long as the applicant meets the application criteria and 16+ and able to speak English. If you wish to join our unit please fill out this simple application form: https://goo.gl/forms/Elj8HX51kFnHHIcw1 Alternatively, you can join our Teamspeak server and find out more and come have a chat with a member of staff! 13. The Wrecking Crew The Wrecking Crew is a realism group that prides itself in its dedication to realistic and enjoyable game play, without the rigid aspects like permanent ranks and having to shout "Yes, sir" at a 14 year old. While we play mostly as British Forces to make coherent training possible, we have a whole host of players who come from all over the world, some as far out as Malaysia and South Africa. You select the role you'd like each week for our editor-driven operations, as long as you are competent and prove yourself by passing the required training sessions for that role, with some not requiring any. This allows you to vary from leading a platoon one week to driving a tank the next. The freedom to experience so many different types of game play without hindrance on the co-operation & enjoyability is something you will struggle to find in most other ArmA groups. Public Server If you would like to experience first hand what it's like to play with TWC, come join us on our public server. It runs different dynamic game modes made entirely in-house with a more relaxed game play than in our operations, but it will still give you a good insight in the community and play style. You don't need to sign up to participate on our public server, just the mods and to connect to our TeamSpeak server. We've created an easy to follow guide on how to get connected here. About our Operations Alongside a public server that runs 24/7, the biggest event our group hosts are weekly 'Operations' with between 20 to 40 people. As well as the occasional 'Joint Operation' with other groups which have encompassed up to 70 people total. Our operations span over a century of warfare, with a monthly rotation of World War 2, Cold War, Turn of the Millennium and Modern Operations. This means that in one month you can liberate a French town from Nazi occupation, halt a Soviet mechanised assault in the plains of Northern Germany, brawl with Iraqi armour in the deserts of Kuwait and patrol through the hills of Afghanistan, searching for insurgents. In these operations any recruit or member can play any role as long as he has received the corresponding training. In our operations we strive for maximum realism. We find real-life solutions for problems that we may face in game, while omitting more tedious parts of military duty like saluting, hour-long marches and range etiquette. We aim for the most immersive experience possible by having minimal HUD, first person only, a single life and using ACRE 2 for communications. Our operations take place on Saturday at 18:30 (UK time) and can last up to four hours or more. Interested in trying it out? If you're interested in participating in public, or signing up to try out our operations, you can check out our website for more information: http://www.thewreckingcrew.eu/. Alternatively, you can contact us on Discord, or pop directly onto TeamSpeak where any member will be willing to help you join with no hassle.

    SP The Green Zone

I was inspired to create this mission after reading some accounts written by British troops who fought in Helmand Province in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Set in March 2007, command a troop of Royal Marines with an attached Fire Support Group as 3 Commando Bridage takes the fight to Taliban territory. You will lead the troop in a mission to clear a section of the Green Zone to the designated Limit of Exploitation. A battery from 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery will support you. Can you develop a sound plan and make effective use of supporting assets to get your troops home alive? The mission is in development and will be finished when it's done. Features: - Blackblood's UK desert troops - PUKF weapons and Landrovers - CoC's artillery and mines - Reno's Afghaneveron - Kenoxite's squad control - Platoon command - Basic intro with custom music giving some historical background To Do: - Test Screenshots:

  19. RKSL Studios presents the Official Port of our Puma HC1. NOTE: I'm not entirely happy with this release but im getting pretty frustrated with custom animations. So much so i need a break from it, lest it get binned. So I'm releasing it as a BETA and taking a little break from the project to work on fixes for the Foxhound and some other things. The Puma HC1 first entered service in 1971, and the RAF currently has a fleet of 34 aircraft available to the front-line Support Helicopter Force. The aircraft are operated by Nos 33 and 230 Squadrons, both based at RAF Benson. The combined Puma Force is separated into 5 operational flights and an operational conversion flight, which offers flexibility in its role with both desert warfare and arctic warfare specialist equipment available for fitting to the aircraft. This model was first made in 2008. And bar a few tweaks and fixes hasn't really changed too much. The UV mapping and poly count were designed for the ArmA1 game engine. ArmA3 is far more capable and flexible than anything we had back then. Which means that this particular model is not going to be developed any further. I will continue to support the release until the new models for the HC2 and AS330 Series helos comes online. PLEASE NOTE: This build of the Puma uses a lighting system. To turn on the dash and cabin lights just turn on the aircraft lights. To turn off the external lights all you need do is retract the landing gear. PLANNED FUTURE FEATURES 100% new model. HC2 varient including: Full glass cockpit Increased power to simulate the Turbomeca Makila engines, new gearboxes and tail rotors Add option to control individual lights FINDING THE ADDON IN THE EDITOR You can find the Puma under: BLUFOR UK Armed Forces Helicopters Puma HC1 FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS Things you need to know if you intend on flying the Puma to its limits.. Speed and Limits: Vne = 257kph - Velocity Never Exceed. This is the absolute max safe speed of the aircraft. Going faster than this may result in damage to the airframe or loss of control. Notes: The Puma HC1 has a very high centre of gravity. Be careful when: taxiing during rolling landings. Max safe speed for rolling landing is 75kph Watch for loss of lift when making sharp braking turns. In AFM Try not to use too much rudder about 160kph. Similarly, be careful about pulling up rapidly and over torquing the main rotor. A WORD ABOUT REALISM We strive to make all our addons as realistic as the game engine and our own capabilities allow. This means that real world speeds and capabilities are simulated where possible. Compromises have and will be made where necessary but we will not downscale or completely cripple an aircraft, system or weapon to fit into the limited spaces some ArmA maps provide. We genuinely believe that the manual operation of aircraft is a skill that should be interesting and fun. Not every aircraft flies the same nor do they have the same capabilities. If you can't learn and adapt to change then stick with the vanilla equipment. The Puma has been designed from the ground up to use the Advanced Flight Model. A lot of effort has gone into developing it, give it a try. Its pretty forgiving and damage tolerant. Take the time to learn it and you won't be disappointed. COMMUNITY COMPATIBILITY It has always been a basic tenant of RKSL Studios design philosophy not to negatively affect other community made content. We do not replace core values or modify anything that will affect the function or experience of others. We are happy to discuss optional compatibility patches, but will not exclusively adapt our addons to anyone elses Mod standards. 20. As promised, the RKSL Christmas tradition continues, Here's the second release. RKSL Studios presents the Official Port of our Foxhound LPPV. The Ocelot Foxhound LPPV was specifically designed to meet the UK MoD’s £200m LPPV programme requirements and replace the Snatch Land Rovers in use with the army. The Snatch Land Rovers have been criticised for their inability to provide protection against IEDs and roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan. The LPPV programme’s objective was to have 400 light protected patrol vehicles production ready by 2010. The UK MoD purchased two Ocelot Foxhound vehicles for testing in April 2010. The invitation to tender (ITT) was issued in May 2010. In September 2010, the Ocelot Foxhound LPPV was selected under the programme against the contender Supacat and NP Aerospace consortium’s SPV400. An initial £180m order for 200 Ocelot Foxhound vehicles was made through urgent operational requirements (UOR) process in November 2010 In December 2011 a further 100 Ocelot Foxhounds were ordered as part of a £400m package of protected vehicles and Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) technology for British Forces in Afghanistan. The contract was finalised in June 2012. The UK MoD also plans to acquire additional 25 vehicles at a cost of £30m. ArmA2 to ArmA3 This is an improved port of the original A2 release into the A3 game engine. The model itself is largely unchanged with some minor edits to add features and fix some old material bugs. This version also supports some of the newer A3 features such as texture customisation. This means that real world speeds and capabilities are simulated where possible. Compromises have and will be made where necessary but we will not downscale or completely cripple an aircraft, system or weapon to fit into the limited spaces some ArmA maps provide. GPMG Iron sights - When I asked an RAF Regiment Gunner (that spent 3 tours on the Foxhound) how easy was it to use the iron sights on the Foxhound he replied, "Nearly impossible, the pivot system doesn't let you in most angles unless you are very tall and can twist yourself in knots." When I asked him how he aimed he replied, "That's what tracers are for". Engine Power - The current engine/physx setup approximates the real world power. ArmA simply cannot simulate the range of the real world gearbox. Simply put these are not as fast as the vanilla ArmA MRAPS but they are easier to use at patrol speeds. 21. Well its Christmas, and barring the last few years, its always been an RKSL Studios tradition to release new addons at Christmas. He's the first of this years escapees. RKSL Studios presents the WK450 Watchkeeper 450 Remotely Piloted Air System. The Watchkeeper WK450 is a Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) for all weather, intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) use by the British Army. It has a mass of 450 kg, a typical endurance of 17 hours, a payload capacity of 150 kg and uses a rotary Wankel engine. It can operate up to 150 km from the Ground Control Station (although multiple stations can be linked to extend the range). It was originally intended to enter service in June 2010, but years of delays, technical issues, hardware modifications, difficulties in training sufficient pilots and incidents means that it is not expected to be fully operational until late 2017. 22. Hi all! Just some forewarning, I am a complete beginner level modeler (in my opinion) and also know zero about texturing, coding, etc. Me, being me, decided I really wanted to get the ol' Chieftain into ArmA 3, and since I enjoy Blender, whipped up a chassis model. Here it is: I know, I'm completely unqualified to take on this task, but I've really wanted to get into vehicle mods for ArmA 3 and figured I might as well try getting one of my favorite vehicle's in, with some help of course. That in mind, I've come here to hopefully get some advice from folk's who know their stuff, or are just willing to toss in their two cents. 1. I'm completely uncomfortable trying to make the turret, as it has a certain shape that I find very difficult to replicate, and I don't want to put something on this tank that I don't feel is authentic and respectful to the real vehicle, any advice on how to tackle this piece is appreciated. 2. I've never managed to successfully make a respectable texture for the vehicle's I've made, and was wondering if anybody could offer me some aid/advice on how I should go about whipping up some proper, decent quality textures, especially camo-type textures like so: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/22/73/1a/22731a4726741d178a36c884679c524f--carri-armati-model-tanks.jpg Keep in mind I don't have access to Photoshop, but I have installed Gimp. 3. I've got a plugin on Blender (ArmA Toolbox is the name) which allows me to convert my model from Blender to ObjectBuilder with LOD's and such attached, but I'm unsure how to go about creating those LOD's in either program since I'm a dummy, if someone could enlighten my dysfunctional brain, that'd be wonderful. 4. I've tried finding information on the specifics of getting a tank into ArmA 3, config and ObjBuilder wise, but I can't find much at all beside's the WIKI, which I have difficult grasping, am I just dumb or is this stuff not well documented? I think I've mentioned everything I was worried about but just for clarity's sake, I'd like to mention that I am eager to get into the whole process, as I've always wanted to create vehicles and weapons for my favorite game, but lacked the courage to ask the people who actually know how to do it. So yeah, that about wraps it up, thanks for taking the time out of your day to check and read this far, I really do appreciate it. Hopefully I put this in the correct area, if not I apologize and please move it, thanks!

These are not only skills that can be used in game, but in certain cases can be carried to real life. We do this as we wish to train our members to be the best they can, so that we can enhance our experience in and out of game. Events Our events occur bi-weekly, the style of which depending on our current theater. Our community operates in "blocks" using the deployment style of missions. 25. Welcome to Operation Pegasus This Is the first announcement of an exciting project I have harbored a strong Interest In since WW2 assets were available for the Arma series. Now with a more user friendly approach to modding within the game, I felt It was the right time for me to unleash my creative juices and create what I wanted to see In game. This map and assets will be a realistic representation of Oosterbeek through to Arnhem, complete with custom buildings centered around areas the British airborne forces were Involved within Operation Market Garden.
