  1. Hello, i noticed the following post about mods and Steam. I also noticed the big support and engagement of BIS_Wizard, a member of the BI Developer Team. Maybe now it's time to ask for something about Steam / Arma 3, because I think BIS_Wizard is the right man for this! ;) I also checked the Forum first, but I couldn't find an existing post about this problem. Following problem: If I download my Server with the Steam CMD with the following command, %STEAMPATH%\steamcmd.exe +login %STEAMLOGIN% %STEAMPW% +force_install_dir %A3serverPath%\ +"app_update %A3serverBRANCH%" validate +quit and run the Server, you find the Server with a RED Circle in the Server Browser. All official BI Server are also faced with this problem. And yes, I disabled all custom Mods, verified my Steam/Arma3 cache and tried a lot of redownloads of the dedicated Server (logged in as anonymous and I tried it with my private Steam Account too). So I tried to google this issue... A lot of people don't care about this, BUT if your server is RED and not GREEN, less users connect. Of course, you can connect, but it is RED and not GREEN. :huh: I found a dirty workaround, download the Stable Client and then copy the DLC folders (mark, kart, heli, curator) to the Server Folder and overwrite the server files with the client files. Only one stupid thing with this workaround - if you download the client, you need a Steam Account with Arma 3 (ok, that's no problem :D). But steam will also download all subscribed Mods and that are a lot of mods.... So I have three questions: Is it possible to deliver the same files for client/dedicated Server or whitelist the client files for dedicated Servers, so that the Server shows up with a GREEN dot in the Server Browser? Is it possible to disable the automatic mod download for the Client Download over Steam CMD? (You cant change something there right? Because it's Valves thing? But i ask you anyway - maybe it's possible) Should I open a new ticket (feedback.bistudio.com)? If there is an easy solution, please tell me that magic stuff.   4. Hello everyone! Sooooo, I have a giant problem that will make me loose the Armachinima Contest. Whenever I launch arma 3, and go to the editor, as soon as I press the "Open" button on the top left to open a scenario, in this case a scene my game crashes. Arma 3 for me has never done this before and only started doing it on Tuesday of last week. Since then I have verified the integridy of game cache and reinstalled the games couple of times. I also formatted my PC and even after the format everytime I launch the editor and press "Open" and instead of seeing a dialog to select a scenario to load I just see my desktop with a crash report. I also tried recreating some of the scenes but when I would save the scenario for the first time, again instead of seeing a dialog to name the scenario and save, it just shuts down back to my desktop with a crash report. The specs of my current pc are: i5 4690k 3.50GHz 8 GB RAM AMD Radeon R9 200 Series Z97X-Gaming 3 And before anyone asks YES I did launch arma 3 and tried it without mods but still crashes.   5. Hello guys, my System: I7 2600k @4,0Ghz OC | MSI-P67A-GD65 | 8800GTX Old Gpu i already bought new one! (GTX 770) | Scythe Mugen 4 Tower Kühler | 2x8 GB 1333mhz | SanDisk SSD 128GB | 1000GB Seagate Desktop HDD This is my new System and i got a new SSD, i had arma 3 und my old pc on the HDD its working fine without freezing. Windows 7 and Arma 3 installed on SSD. My Problem is if i go on the map after 2 seconds my game with sound freeze for like 4 seconds, exactly the same if i press escape and go again on the map. What i did for the "Fix" remove dll allcuator, remove performance client, remove Startupparameters, remove all settings like exthreads in the luncher, did not fix it. btw sry for my bad english Video how it looks like: recorded with Fraps and msi Afterburner/rivaTuner: I think its the gpu, and if i look up in the sky my game also freeze.   6. It was 2017, and the objects in the Zeus never returned. I'm with my friends loved to spend time in this game mode, placing a many of objects in real time, after starting the battle. Bohemia, maybe finally released the update and return the objects (props) in Zeus Mode?

  11. Story A few weeks ago a buddy asked me to write a script for a helicopter to lift and transport cargo, the 'Helikopterfrachttransportskript', that finally provides the desired solution. At first I thought that there would be something out there already. However, according to his research there are no scripts or tutorials that let you have an AI helicopter reliably hovering over a cargo in ArmA 3 (having it meter-precise is imperative). This hovering and the whole process of picking up and setting down the cargo was supposed to look more realistic than just an attachTo. And so this script was written. It provides a precise hovering over the cargo, great looking attachment of the sling rope and picking up of the cargo as well as putting the load down in the same way at the target position. There are several routine integrated to avoid script errors in cases of explosions or deaths of the vehicle or AI. A description can be found inside the SQF file, how to execute the script. Have fun. Content It is a single ~250Code-Line-Big Script to let an AI controlled helicopter lift diferrent freight goods to a single destination.   13. 3rd Marine Division Fox Company, 2nd Battalion Marine Raider Team 8316 1st Marine Aircraft Wing 724th Special Tactics Group Hello, and before you read this post I wanted to thank you personally for taking the time to check us out. It will be a bit long, but it will include all the information required to both understand what the unit is about and also how to enlist or get in contact should you be interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to use the resources we provide at the bottom of the post to get into contact. What is the 3rd Marine Division? The 3rd Marine Division, or 3rd MD, is a military simulation unit looking to redefine the standard of military simulation, by providing a drama free, mature, and professional environment where you are a person, not a number, and can have as equal a chance as any to succeed. This group was founded on those principles, and has taken them to heart. Under those principles, we intend to allow our unit to thrive inside the milsim community, and constantly take consideration to the opinions of our player base to further improve the experience we provide. Outside of how we operate, the 3rd Marine Division is the culmination of numerous different assets within the United States Military. We consist of a regular infantry element (2nd Bat, 3rd MD), a MARSOC element (MRT 8316), an aviation element (1st MAW), and a Para-rescue element (724th STG). All these elements operate either together or separately to complete a wide variety of different objectives within our operations, with care being taken to try and diversify the scope of the missions our unit partakes in. What We Do As stated prior, the 3rd MD strives to maintain a mature, professional, and more importantly realistic environment. Considering this, training and operations are held to a high standard, and are done on a fairly regular basis. While we don't have daily operations, we do have a public liberation server which we will play on during the week for the purpose of practice but also enjoyment. Furthermore, we have our private training and operations server, operations being Saturdays at 1800 Eastern Standard Time. Training schedules depend entirely on the unit in which you enlist. These trainings and operations are all of course not only to provide enjoyment, but are also intended to breed the skills required by our members for success. Furthermore, in keeping with our standard, we partake in missions that the real US Military would partake in, these operations include activities such as… Counter Terrorism Large Scale Conventional Warfare Helicopter Based Assaults Defensive Operations Direct Action Hostage Rescue and many more activities that are not needing to be listed Training and Requirements We will begin with requirements, as the rest is not applicable to you if you do not meet these. Must be 15+ (17+ for the MARSOC element) Must be mature and have a professional attitude Must be willing to follow the chain of command Must own a legal copy of ArmA 3 Must be willing to dedicate time towards the unit, as it shall to you Must be able to make at least one unit event a week unless excused Must complete the training process in the required time frame Must maintain respect for yourself and others at all times If you meet these requirements, then read the following. It describes our training process... Training depends entirely on the unit in which you are assigned. Therefore, the length can vary. It will generally be no longer than a month unless you choose to enlist in our MARSOC element. The MARSOC element strives to create a lengthy process, generally lasting a month and a half, to ensure all members are dedicated to the unit. How Do I Join?   15. I wanted to share this with the community if anyone is interested in it. I got tired of the same old ammo boxes in the game so I wanted something different. This is the Animated Data Terminal from inside the game that works as an Arsenal. I have packed put everything you need into a .rar file including 2 different scripts one that allows one player at a time to use the box and the other for multiple people using the box.   16. Hello everyone, after briefly learning how to snipe on Ace by watching videos i've got some questions that YouTube wasn't able to answer. First of all i'm using the Intervention along with the Vector 21 so i can sync data to the ATragMX without copying and pasting all the time, after that i get the temperature, the humidity and the barometric pressure from the Kestrel 4500 and copy-paste it on the ATragMX. I auto-set the crosswind and the headwind and get the average Wind SPD of around 30 seconds, and i paste the min on 1 on the Wind Speed on the Target tab of the ATragMX followed by the max value on 2 and then the wind direction, if the min and max are the same then i just input the same value on both fields. Finally i take the shot and re-adjust properly if i miss. I collect all the data standing up without being blocked by bushes/trees. Is there any way to collect the wind data more efficiently? Cause most of the time my shots are landing left or right of the enemy, and am i inputting the wind correctly inside ATragMX because almost all the people i've watched are doing it differently (most of my shots are on ~1400km). If i missed anything i will explain it, just ask for it.
  17. Hey everyone! After noticing someone ported the South Asia map to A3, I decided to take a similar try at the Seattle map as I quite enjoy it. It mostly worked out, but there were two stand out issues - the ambient cars weren't on the major roads (can figure that out myself most likely), and all the skyscrapers weren't really there, they were big blocks of blue nothing! What I'm talking about So, I figured I would ask here if anyone had this figured out before me. I believe I know why this happens, as the large buildings on this map don't have typical textures like all the others; they're real time reflections, a first for a BI game. I've tried moving the shader files I found into A3's bin.pbo, but that didn't help anything. I've also looked extensively through the TOH pbos and can't find anything useful or related. I really wanna see this map ported, does anyone know or at least have an idea on how to either get the reflections in or just replacing them with normal textures? Huge thanks in advance!

JOINT TASK FORCE 9 What we represent Joint Task Force 9, also known as JTF9, is an elite multi-branch offensive whose purpose is to locate and eliminate high risk criminal and terrorist organizations around the globe. The task force is composed of detachments from NAVSPECWARCOM, the USMC's 1st Bn/1st Marines, and ARSOAC's 160th SOAR. All of these detachments are used to their full potential and each serve a specific purpose within the task force. Below will be a short description of each unit and their role within JTF9: 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Division (USMC) - The backbone of JTF9's assault force. They make up the manpower necessary to conduct large-scale attacks and they have the training to fit nearly every mission profile. They are valued highly within the task force for their ferocity, capability, and brotherhood. They are also a relatively new addition to the task force and are seen with great potential. If kicking down doors and annihilating an enemy objective suits your play style, then the Marines could use you. SEAL Team 1 (NAVSPECWARCOM) - If the Marines are seen as the hammer, then SEAL Team 1 is the scalpel. Capable of acting in 4 man teams, they are used to covertly gather intelligence, capture an enemy target, and conduct unconventional warfare within their AO. Their wide array capabilities also include; Direct Action, Personnel Recovery, and Counter-Terrorism operations (also including the aforementioned Special Reconnaissance, Unconventional Warfare, and HVT Elimination). JTF9 uses them in a capacity to stay undetected in an AO and cripple the enemy force through a smaller weak point. If working in a small elite team suits your interest then consider going through SEAL Team 1's training and selection pipeline. 160th SOAR (A) (ARSOAC) - The elite 160th SOAR serves as our premier helicopter transport and support detachment. They are highly trained and seen as the most capable helicopter support detachment in the US military. They perform missions such heliborne assault, close combat attack, and heliborne reconnaissance. If you believe your capabilities as a pilot can stand up to the strict and harsh demands of this elite detachment then take a chance and go for their selection. Now, JTF9 is a milsim community that values authenticity both in-game and in interaction within the TeamSpeak, Forums, etc. We look for like-minded individuals who enjoy the aspect of not only simulating the military in-game, but also who enjoy the aspects of it out of game. This means that rank is addressed when appropriate, chain of command is utilized throughout, planning takes consideration and preparation, training induces mental challenges, and overall makes the environment more enjoyable for those that want that experience. We don't plan on changing and for those that want to dismiss the military environment, we are not the community for you. If you enjoy the previously mentioned military environment and take interest in one of our detachments then please consider reading further. Our History Joint Task Force 9's Executive Command has many years within the MilSim environment and has gathered accurate information detailing the detachments that we represent. Our community is relatively new, being established in mid-2016, but the personnel that make up the community are familiar with how the military functions and what we expect from them in this simulated environment. We expect to pave a new path in Arma 3 Military Simulation and build our own history. If you wish to be a part of that history, look below to see how you can begin the application process for JTF9. How to Join If you are interested in becoming a member of JTF9 then the application process is relatively simple. To begin we suggest you speak to a recruiter at the JTF9 TeamSpeak (TS Address: 192.99.71.21:9262) in order to fully evaluate your interests within the community and find a suitable job for you within the task force. During this we would advise you to lay all cards on the table and be completely truthful with your recruiter on what you desire to do. They are there to help you but they need information to go off of first. After you've spoken to a recruiter, he/she will provide you with a list of prerequisites you will need to complete before being eligible to send in an application. Here are a few of the prerequisites that will be given to you: - Minimum age requirement is 16. Preferred age is 18+ (No exceptions will be made for those underage) - Download and test the JTF9 Modpack (A3Sync required)(Information will be given upon meeting your recruiter) - Own a legitimate copy of Arma 3 - Have a functional microphone that can be heard clearly in TeamSpeak - Fluently speak and understand English - Make sure your current name contains no numerics or special characters and are one word (English Surnames strongly advised) After you have met the criteria for each prerequisite you will be able to send in an application for JTF9. If you have not met the criteria for each and every prerequisite, your application will be denied immediately. Once your application has been sent in it will take approximately 48 hours to process. If you are accepted you will be placed within the training pipeline of your unit of choice and awarded the position of recruit (RCT).   22. Flying Monkeys In Space Who are we? Flying Monkeys In Space is the next generation in Arma III Milsim. We aim to host missions for those whom seek the desire to play Arma to it's full extent. Our end goal is to make the most immersive and exciting gaming experience possible without all the 'Yes Sir' 'No Sir' BS. Our group aims to host amazingly fun and enjoyble operations weekly. What Do We Do? Flying Monkeys In Space currently employs the use of the new and improved 3DEN editor for Arma III. Working alongside the 3DEN editor our talented mission makers create tailored in house missions to suit our Milsim needs. These missions can consist of killing an officer, combined arms assault on a town or city, capturing an officer, finding intel etc. As well as Relaxed Milsim operations we will also conduct training days throughout the week to bring new players and old players alike up to speed with new mods or just the basics of Arma.     Family Sharing in 2016-17?

    I believe this was a statement in 2014 and outdated by now. I'd like to have an update on steam family sharing in general but more specifically I'd like to know: What is the issue as of know preventing Bohemia Interactive to enable the feature? And what exactly are "multiplayer cheating issues"? I hope the explanation is not simply "If somebody uses your account and cheats in ARMA 3, your gameID gets banned". Best, Foxxy
