Bohemia Interactive Studios presented the AAF and so we took it upon ourselves to tell their story. Show that a Third-World military can still hold their own in the world. We use a few modifications to help enhance the realism and fun such as incorporating the FN FAL into our arsenal and the M60. We have a wide array of uniform combinations with certain clothing mods that help enhance our concealment from only ourselves as we try not to hit each other with Thermal Optics.   7. Hello, I was wondering if there was any progress made towards being able to cancel actions such as reloading a rocket launcher, or switching weapons while moving. I recall a developer saying that it was difficult due to their animation engine, but I was wondering if there was any official progress on it, since there has been a mod allowing you to do it since 2013.   9. New website up! http://www.jtf16.org Who are we? JTF16 is a group of mature ArmA veterans, we consist primarily of Swedish players at this moment but that is something we don’t mind changing. We play co-op games (apart from a few special events) and we have our own dedicated game server where we also host our mod repositories and TS3. We host our own OPs two days a week and we try do joint-ops with a bigger groups as often as we can. The group has its own very talented mission and campaign makers and usually do campaigns that stretches over several weeks. So, what do we do?We play ArmA, that pretty much it, but we do it with a twist that we like to call “Milsim Lightâ€. We like to mix milsim with casual play, creating a fun and inviting environment for everyone involved. In practice that means that we do have a set structure and in-game we have a chain of command but without the use of ranks and such. What we strive for is to get some really good immersion going, but at the same time understand that we do this because it's fun.     Arma 3 Apex - content predictions?

    I'm starting this thread to discuss possible content for Arma 3 Apex. Anyone have predictions? Here's mine: To start off, factions. I personally think we'll be seeing USMC forces [BLUFOR] along with Chinese forces [OPFOR], and possibly Australian/CTRG forces [BLUFOR]. Of course, we'll likely see Tanoa's military [Independent] and a guerrilla faction [OPFOR]. Now for vehicles and weapons. It's confirmed that we'll be seeing Light Strike Vehicles and VTOLs, and possibly larger Patrol boats. Here's a list of what I'm assuming will be added: United States Marine Corps: APX - Pistol MP7 - Sub Machine Gun HK416 - Assault Rifle M27 IAR - Light Machine Gun HK417 - Sniper Rifle SMAW - Rocket Launcher ALSV - Light Strike Vehicle Cougar - Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected EFV - Infantry Fighting Vehicle M551 Sheridan - Light Tank M1A3 Abrams - Main Battle Tank UH-1Y Venom - Transport Helicopter AH-1Z Viper - Attack Helicopter V-22 Osprey - VTOL Helicopter F-35B Lightning - VTOL Fighter CB90 AMOS - Patrol Boat USMC forces would have a wide variety of modern-futuristic gear, with some assets possibly being futurized. The 1st Joint Expeditionary Force is an ArmA 3 Realism Unit that isn’t tied to any armed force, country or set of equipment. We aim to vary the Arma 3 experience by looking at different eras of expeditionary warfare, setting appropriate objectives and adopting our equipment to complete them. To achieve this we will bring together a wide-range of content putting it to the test through objectives and game dynamics. We have a public server online 24/7 running custom missions designed by our Mission Design Team so that players can get a feel of how we operate prior to sending in an Application. Along with that we hold our Private Operations every Sunday at 7:00pm (UK Time) for our members. Individual Interoperable Groups (IIG) Within our unit we have an individual group structure so that if you merge with us or want to form your own group to play with your friends you may do so. The only requirement is that it must be formed with a minimum of 8 people and a Sergeant must register the group. You can speak any language internally of your group, host your own group training sessions, organised group operations, etc. however you must speak English over the radio during joint-group operations. I have listed our current IIG’s available, please note this list will expand once our numbers grow but for now these are the main two.   12. Hello everyone, once again! I've recently found out that we can have custom faces in our ArmA 3 profile and that these faces can even carry on to Multiplayer (without any addons or etc.) So for those who do not know, you need a file of at least 256x256px to 1024x1024px (.paa or .jpg) under the size of 100kb to have a custom face that you and everyone else will see in the Multiplayer. I been looking around a lot but I can't find much information about it for ARMA 3. There's many "issues" such as -Colors being greyed out -Arms not being customizable -Optimization Black turns nearly transparent and it's nearly impossible to edit something and for it to still be visible/make a difference. We should be able to make faces look like if they were just the same from in-game. Arms being customizable is not necessary but it would be great. And optimization, getting under 100kb is quite complicated sometimes and I was wondering if people knew good ways to make faces and to optimize them to keep them within the filesize. Also if anyone knows a fix for the faces that works for *everyone* and not client-side. Any extra information on Custom Faces would also be greatly appreciated! On a side note, I think servers should be *unable* to disable Custom faces, I think it should be a client-side choice whether each player wants to see them or not.
  13. Sugar Lake v1.51 by Major Desync Background Sugar Lake is a township in the Vieilhomme Delta. A hub for oil exploration and extraction, Sugar Lake has extensive port facilities servicing a number of oil rigs and refineries in the surrounding wetlands. These include the Sugar Lake Oil Field, owned and operated by Vrana Petrochemicals, a division of the multinational conglomerate Vrana Industries. Given the strategic importance of these assets, Sugar Lake is home to two recently requisitioned military installations - Joint Air Facility (JAF) Sugar Lake (formerly Sugar Lake “International†Airport) and Camp Burnside (formerly Sugar Lake Marina). The military detachments in these bases are supported in local security and counterinsurgency actions by a number of private military contractors (PMCs). The most prominent of these is Ion Services, which operates out of an extensive facility in the port. The security provided by these forces has encouraged the government to locate several of its displaced persons (DP) camps in Sugar Lake, housing citizens internally displaced by the virulent insurgency that wrack the country. Some of these refugees have voluntarily fled conflict zones, others have been resettled as a result of Ward of the Government Orders. Corporate Social Responsibility Pacts with a number of private enterprises, including Vrana Industries, provide these refugees with welcome opportunities to supplement their subsistence allowances with Productivity Credits by working in the local oil and port facilities. Insurgent and other criminal groups have tried to exploit the DP camps as recruiting grounds, but thanks to the vigilance of the government, the military and their PMC security partners, their efforts have been unsuccessful thus far. The Vieilhomme Delta is a maze of bayous, channels and watercourses of varying size, and low-lying islands covered with tall marsh grass and patches of dense forest. The wetlands are infested with a number of anti-government militias. According to government sources, several of these insurgent groups are proxies for foreign states and non-state actors bent on the destabilisation of the country. Moreover, many insurgents are affiliated with international organised crime syndicates, who have made Vieilhomme Delta a highway for narcotic and arms, and human trafficking. Features: Terrain dimensions: 8.2 km x 8.2 km Terrain area: 67.1 sq. km (same area as Zargabad) Heightmap resolution: 4 m/pixel Elevation range: -15 m to +16 m Approx 280,000 objects drawn from A1, A2, and A3; AiATP or CUP Terrains is a required addon. Vast majority of buildings enterable. Low-lying river delta marsh terrain, with high marsh-grass and patches of dense woodland; many navigable bayous, bays, and channels. A large low-density urban area surrounded by levees, and several small outlying delta settlements. A large industrial port facility, with a number of different compounds, including a PMC base, several shipping container yards, and oil storage plants. An air-base, with extensive hinterland and associated radome installation, military camp, and fuel storage facility, all surrounded by levees. A military camp with extensive dock, field hospital and airmobile facilities. A range of industrial facilities including several oil refineries and isolated outlying extraction rigs and installations. Sugar Lake's size, topography, ground cover, and locations make it perfect for amphibious operations involving boats, subs, and divers, and/or airmobile elements, as well as counterinsurgency search-and-destroy missions, and/or insurgency raids against military or industrial infrastructure and/or personnel. The various oil and port installations are suitable for close combat and MOUT. This is not an ideal map for extensive armoured maneuvers, aside from convoys. However, Sugar Lake does offer a chance for amphibious vehicles to shine.   15. I posted this on Reddit and felt that I should also post it here. I apologize if it's not in the right area. I'd imagine with the team working primarily on Apex and Nexus, there isn't much of a chance of us seeing old content such as the AMOS Marshall and KSG Shotgun. I think Bohemia Interactive should release older content with complimentary textures, unbinarized models, and config if possible, allowing the community to examine or add them in themselves. I really think BIS should consider this, and could possibly release it with the Arma 3 Samples. What do you guys think?
  16. I need help with securing my server configuration. I had a public server configured on a Windows DS and running ZGM Master Altis. I logged on today and I played for a bit and then I was banned from my own server. I then found two bans in the bans.txt. But I had a strong password on the admin and voting was disabled. I am including my server configuration below, and I need someone to look this over and give me some help with securing my DS. I have stopped and restarted the server, but I have made it private from now on. Well, that said, i would like to begin with a suggestion which already exists in Zeus, that is the customizable crate/container/ammobox. While i was checking on Eden, i didn't find any means to do it like we do with Zeus, can only do that like it is on the 2D editor. Could that be possible? We are founded by veterans and we have a large number of veterans and current military in our ranks. We officially support the following games. Arma 3 Mech Warrior Online Paintball Planetside 2 Star Citizen Star Wars: The Old Republic Members can and are encouraged to join and play in multiple games with BWC. We have a military style chain of command, awards, decorations, ranks, billets, and duty positions. We focus heavily on charity work. We began investing in Arma 3 in 2013. While our Arma 3 community is based on the idea of MilSim, as with any game in BWC we allow anyone to lead if they volunteer. During operations, squad / platoon leaders have complete control of their unit regardless of rank outside the game, which means if a new recruit assumes the role of Squad Leader and a BWC Captain joins, the Captain falls in and follows orders from that recruit. We don't have an in-game ranking system and we don't require saluting or "yes sir, no sir" type behavior. Our community is growing with roughly 80 members playing Arma 3 by Summer 2015. The majority of events are based on US East Coast timezone(EST/EDT), however we have members from all over the globe. We offer a private server available to members 24/7. We run a variety of mods. We orchestrate months long running campaigns that tracs unit progression as well as occasional fire-team tournaments. --- Our current campaign kicked off July 4th weekend.   23. Hi guys, I recently built my own arma 3 dedicated server on a remote server. I successfully install the Arma 3 server client without any problems. The purpose of building this server because both of my friends and I are not able to establish a server by our won due to the router. However we really would like to play missions which is based on RHS ARAF&USAF and AllInArma Terrain pack. So we downloads series of Chernarus missions and use TADST serer tools to help us configure the server correctly. After all things were set (At least I think so), I launched the server and the mission was running is "Battlezone Chernarus", then we try to join the server and test if it is working or not, while we are loading the mission, it said that: "You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. rhs_c_a2port_car" I know what does this sentence mean because I have been playing Arma 3 for a really long while but what is really wired is that I searched both the arma 3 server client folder in my remote server and my local arma 3 game folder for the file called "rhs_c_a2port_car", eventually it shows they are both there, which means I do have the missing file both in my server client and my game client. I am continuously getting these kind of problems once I load missions that based on Chernarus, it is really annoying and hopefully you guys could help me. Thanks in Advance. William
  24. Hi guys, figured I should make a post here about what me and a few other people are looking to make happen. What we're looking to do is release our own fully featured campaign, essentially 'crafted' by the community. It would of course incorporate a well written narrative, quality voice acting, enjoyable mission design, and the like - much like drafting up our own game. Over on the reddit subreddit, the response for something like this has been very positive, and the response from a couple of follow up polls shows there's definitely interest in something like this. I set up the subreddit /r/thisiswar as a kinda 'main hub' for the project, but figured there should be an ongoing discussion thread here too. Up to now, however, the main problem has been getting the numbers for something that resembles a team. So we're currently calling for anyone else who is willing to lend a hand in development - this means we're after the: - programmers - writers - level designers - artists/modelers - writers - voice actors - overall organisation etc. Leave any of your thoughts here, or somewhere over at /r/thisiswar, if you'd like to mention anything. I'm in the middle of drafting up a Game Design Document (GDD), which will serve as the team's living document and reference material, including a breakdown of each mission, what music, deadlines etc. We've also decided to house the project on GitHub, which will allow us to host the main build, manage contributions, release test builds for more feedback, and track bug tickets.
