This will need some real useful ECM scripts to make this ATL-flying work .I would make a C-119 or other turboprop maybe a C-7 Porter or similar as a dedicated ECM-plane .With such a potent Sam-system currently in Arma 3,this may be a must.

It doesn't need those planes, they are not in service anymore, hell neither of them was a plane that was used for ECM back then. As that didn't exist back in those days..... Most planes come with an ECM pod or have it built in.

    I'm getting the error

"Warning Message: Addon 'UK3CB_BAF_Units_RHS' requires addon 'UK3CB_BAF_Vehicles_Chinook'"
After updating all 3cb mods and compats.

As mentioned above some of the compats require RHS (the Chinook and C-130 one as they use the RHS models)

In real life, HIMARS (and almost all FMTV variants for that matter) need their tyres deflating in order to fit in a C-130. They're too tall to fit in under normal circumstances.

You can see it in the photo you posted.

Might be something we could do in Arma (would have been dead easy in Arma 2, but physX wheels are a bit more complex). However, it's not something to approach with high priority.

    Additional factoid:

In the original series of FMTV A0s (i.e. long before the trucks had armoured cabs), there was a special "LVAD" subset of FMTV variants that had collapsible cabins, so that they could be air-dropped and driven from the LZ without as much heavy equipment as is needed to prepare a normal FMTV for transportation in a C-130.

The SOCOM M1084 that Richards added in the mod, is based on that kind of cab.

    Thanks for the clarification!!

General Dynamics won the contract to replace the old GMVs back in 2013. There were some lawsuits and stuff filed by other companies that wanted the contract, but as far as I know, the production and fielding has been ongoing and I believe they are in use by SOCOM now. You can check out the Flyer 72 here:  https://www.gd-ots.com/lightweight-tactical-vehicles/the-flyer-72/

General Dynamics has since won another contract with the U.S. Army for a non-SOCOM variant called the Army Ground Mobility Vehicle (AGMV).

I'm sorry but that is not a GMV, that is a handicapped Bathtub with wheels....
Da only real GMV is the Humvee one

(Also, never seen the GMV 1.1 actually being used overseas, pretty sure they are still in the development phase, most SF/SOF still drive around in the normal GMV or an M-ATV)

but not the ones used in that image the bloke posted, or so i am being told by people who know more about humvees than i ever will.

Ah yeah, those images look like they are older versions indeed, probably Pre-2012-ish, but I too am no expert :D

Edit: (The bottom one looks to be the newer version, just without the thicker armored windows, but again see above line)

Probably not, at least for the foreseeable future. Those GMV variants are based on the longer ECV chassis, which is actually considerably different from the M998 and M1025 based vehicles we have in the mod currently. In order for us to do those vehicles, we would first have to do the M1114 HMMWV, which is hardly used anymore compared to the M1025 and M1151...

Most current GMV's are based of the M1165, which is quite similar to the M1151 i believe

I know that, and this is the exact reason pretty, finished-looking models go unreleased and mods that show a lot of promise wither away in this very phase. Rigging and configuring is harder and less fun than modeling, but it has to be done. This is also why I was worried. It can be very tempting to start another model and put off the tedious part "until later", but this is exactly the road to never releasing anything, one I saw quite a few mods go down. They make a load of models, get everyone excited with ever expanding scope, then, once the easy part is done, the modder loses motivation at the sight of the amount of configuration needed to actually bring them into the game. I really hope this isn't going to happen here.

It might also just help if you stop arguing about it. Martinez has said how the flow is going atm. You should just accept it and let him do is work. Continuing this discussion is pointless.

Downloaded the mod for the first time today (why I waited so long I don't know..), all I can say is, what a fantastic mod! Really enjoyed the planes, good quality stuff. Only thing I'll say, is there a plan to give any more love to the HH-60's? I'm a massive fan of all things USAF pararescue and this is the first mod I've found with a unique model for it. I understand if it's a no, but I'd be willing to help out with it in any way possible!

Hey, yes the HH-60G has been given love, so have all the other AFSOC assets btw. Sadly they are just sitting around as no one is able to texture and UV map them. If you have any skill in that please let me know in PM :)

Also glad to hear you enjoy it!!

I rarely visit this thread , the only thing your read nowadays are about people uploading USAF content without permission.  I will check back here again in a few months hopefully with more interesting reading.

Thanks for this very useful information! You don't have to come back!
