  1. I noticed someone's been taking screenshots of certain assets in the MCC. Wink wink nudge nudge
  2. Discussion of the Falcon vs the Pelican in maneuverability:
  3. It's D, you can see it on the trailer. The ammo counter and colors on the weapon indicate it's an MA5D. Anyways, how did that Falcon test flight go? I'm assuming it's going to be a helicopter model as well, with greater acceleration than the Pelican.
  4. 343i is actually helping with development, so it being canon is likely. However, it looks like P2W garbage and we shouldn't really care. I mean it's cool to see blam! on PC, but I don't even think it's worth mentioning.
  5. No one hated on you, they gave legitimate counter-arguments to your requests. You didn't even bother to read the front page before you started asking for things of the devs which is completely disrespectful. And you need to put a spoiler because you wrote an entire essay in your post and it takes up space on the thread. Now you're arguing over senseless things not related to the mod at all, please stay on topic.
  6. Okay cool, if we're ignoring those textures then we're looking at a really badass interior design! Can't wait to see more
  7. I would have to agree, a bit too much wear and tear on this.
  8. While it wouldn't be used often, I'm pretty sure there are existing mods with nukes that we could combine with this. Literally a mission where you fly the Longsword and drop a nuke on the remaining enemy stronghold and RTB. That would be pretty damn cool.
  9. Looking really good. So what variants of the Falcon can we expect to see? MG, GL, and unarmed variants?
  10. That, and I would say if you were to go in and reskin the ODST backpack to fit the camouflages of each UNSC unit, that would look a bit better. Not that the default backpacks look bad or out of place, but I noticed there's one UNSC unit who isn't an ODST and has that backpack and it looks a lot better. If we need to push the Cougar, Scorpion, Falcon, and Hornet back to get that chinstrap, then that's what needs to happen.
  11. We know that someone, either Marine or Army (I forget) had a radar on his HUD during one of the terminals in the MCC, so I don't think it would be out of the question. I almost forgot about that, yeah that's a great example too.
  12. You could go even further than that with it though, because that is a bit restricting. Try using Halo 4's FPS view as your reference, the Chief's helmet is visible but only enough to tell you're wearing it. Or look at the helmets in Star Citizen, they're not intrusive but you can tell you're wearing one. I don't even know if doing something like this in ArmA is possible, but hopefully the devs find a way. They made a good point about the ODST helmets not restricting your vision, and they shouldn't in any way. However, that small trim of pixels at the bottom left and right corners and a small trim up top would make for a really cool overlay. I'll try and cook one up in photoshop and post it here. -EDIT- Here's something I cooked up in photoshop really quick to show what I was talking about, threw in some VISR effects and a piss filter to make it look authentic. http://i.imgur.com/2HIuRa1.jpg
  13. I think if you were to take that, keep it more on the borders of the screen so it's non-intrusive, that it would make a great asset to the mod.
  14. I'm not even sure the countryside would be necessary with a frigate acting as a FOB. If you guys can pull off a map like that, it would be extraordinary. Setting it at sundown to give it that orange glow, AA guns going off in the sky above you as you fight through back alleys and destroyed hotels. I really hope this happens someday.
  15. I don't think anyone called you an idiot, but asking for guns to be only effective in mid-range combat is a large request, you shouldn't be so salty about it. Plus, as armor advances, so will the guns that combat it. I don't think anyone here wants to waste a hole magazine on an Innie to have them not die, and then have them return the favor, then you both run out of ammo. Any sort of 1-shot bugs do need to be patched, and I'm sure they'll fix armor values to be appropriate, but asking for at least 10 shots to kill somebody at 100+ meters is a little ridiculous. Gameplay above everything.
  16. I wouldn't call 4-5 shots to the chest useless. As armor progresses so will weapons to outperform it. Having a weapon do nothing at 100m is completely ridiculous. The goal of the mod isn't to completely copy Halo and introduce it into ArmA's engine, it's to have that immersive ArmA gameplay with elements from the Halo games. You're suggesting armor and weapon values from Halo be introduced into ArmA and it would just make for terrible gameplay. As for weapon weight, I'm sure the devs will give them accurate values at some point. Though I would consider that low priority, I'm too excited for the Scorpion, Cougar, Falcon, and Hornet to care.
  17. Clearly the dev team needs to make these hyper advanced weapons as powerful as pellet guns. Also that NVG stuff is badass. It honestly could fit with the lore, I mean we don't know when VISR (the one seen in ODST) came out, so perhaps this is a primitive version without color detection.
  18. Why not have ODSTs equipped with LLV and the rest of the units equipped with a Halo: Reach style NVG? No black around it and slightly fuzzed with slight color.
  19. Despite people's opinions on the 343i games, their HUD elements are pretty good. I'd love to see those on our visors in this mod, and have it be toggled, like NVGs or something.
  20. 1 - Eh, I'd consider the weapon systems fine right now. However, I would love to see custom Halo-style crosshairs in place for each weapon. After all, each soldier is going to be equipped with a HUD if they're wearing a helmet, and it would greatly increase immersion. 2 - This I agree with greatly, this can be seen in almost every Halo 3 cut scene with a Pelican. Almost every time there's a shot of a pelican, there's a red light on inside. Perhaps it is to indicate a combat zone? Or just for general illumination like in cargo planes. 3 - I don't know exactly how that armor works, but it might make sense. The suits NASA use for EVA were tested underwater before being deployed in orbit.
  21. But why? The armor the ODSTs are wearing is already correct. I've been saving all these in a text file to document them, in case the authors or any users need them later on. If you want to PM me some scripts of yours I can compile them into a user-friendly manual for the authors to use.
  22. Please post any questions about the use of HEVs on the reddit for this mod, so we can keep this thread clear: http://www.reddit.com/r/EridanusInsurrection
  23. Probably should upload a complete user manual at some point and link on the front page, and be done with the spam.
  24. Could we get a compiled list of assets that may or may not be included in the next patch? Not necessarily bug fixes, but vehicles, weapons, units, etc. If not, that's fine. Really excited to see the Cougar making an appearance. Soon enough we're going to have a vehicle to fill every role.
