We are still having this issue for every user made mission.
-
We are having the same issue with user made missions in Eden. Players who JIP join in as Seagulls. Disconnecting and reconnecting SOMETIMES fixes this issue, as does backing out to lobby and choosing a different player slot. Only sometimes though, usually you are SOL/seagull. Really makes playing custom made missions difficult at the moment, as this does not allow for users to be disconnected and rejoin the mission. And this Arma. So that happens like, all the time.

Thanks for featuring our community (Fighting 13th) on your page!! We really enjoy your mod, and have been playing it a lot. Our guys have built some really, really impressive FOBs as well (which seem to be causing some resource hogging.) Might have to get you some better video of our guys on your mission. The footage you found seems a bit sloppy :P Keep up the good work man! There aren't enough of these large scale co-op modes in development anymore unfortunately.

Hey man, amazing mod. Again. We've been running Liberation for a while now and we just loaded in to our server and we can't access any of the FOB or Arsenal functions (they don't appear in mouse wheel) and we don't have the resources list appear on our hub. Except for recycle. We've tried reloading the mission, restarting server, etc. Mission was working fine like an hour ago, but we all loaded in for a weekly event and it just stopped working. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. I'm still running 0.911, wasn't sure if upgrading to a new version would wipe our progress.

Hey man, just came by to say keep up the good work. Really glad this is still in active development. My community has begun running this on one of our dedicated servers and it has been quite popular. Looking forward to seeing any new additions and expansions!

Seems like this update has broken every single mission that has been created before today. I can not load missions on my servers, nor can I open mission in the editor. It returns "You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.3DEN" every time. Seems like a questionable business move to release an update that breaks every single mission ever created for this game before today....

Hrolf - That's definitely a possibility. I know on the other mission we usually run I turned off the AI unconsciousness setting. I'll have to test that out. Thanks for the reply.

Hey SENSEII, First of all, great mission! My community has run it a couple of times already. It's a really great, hassle free way to run a dynamically generated mission to keep things fresh with little effort. We've run it a couple of nights when we only had a couple of hours to run it. We are planning on organizing a large-scale weekend session in the coming weeks so we can really sink our teeth into it and play it out to it's fullest!! Quick question for you - We noticed that the way the mission awards points (scoreboard) in MP is....wonky. It usually does not award points for taking down enemy AI soldiers, but it sometimes does. One of our guys got a point for killing a civilian by accident. We haven't been able to figure out why the mission awards points for some things, but not others. This is not a mission problem, it's an issue with me not knowing how these things works or are configured in Arma missions. I've tried searching for a solution with no luck. Could you provide some insight? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Smoke produced by smokegrenades covers a very small area only
danius replied to 123justin321's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
We are having the same issue. It's definitely caused by Blastcore. It's been happening for over a month and we have had to stop using the mod as a result. It seems strange that there hasn't been a fix pushed for it... -

Yeah these statistics seem very, very incomplete to me. You are only considering PUBLIC servers running game modes with no barrier to entry (mods). The vast majority of people looking for COOP/MILSIM experience are doing so on heavily modded clan or private servers. There are so many coop operations going on at any time, they're just not occurring on public servers. For those types of coop Invade & Annex and Domination are really you're ONLY options. Public servers lend themselves to PvP type game modes (or RP game modes, I guess). If you really want an awesome milsim coop experience, join or start a group/clan and have at it. There really is no shortness of opportunities. As an aside, I really don't understand all the hate the Wasteland gets. I find it to be a really challenging game mode and one in which military style coop tactics can do wonders for improving your success. I view it as a group of people engaging in asymmetrical warfare (we always play as indi) against roving hostile platoons. You need to work together, move tactically, complete objectives, acquire military assets for your squad, while denying assets to the enemy. I'm not really sure what's not "in the spirit" of ArmA about that.

[SP]Dynamic Universal War System (DUWS alpha0.1)
danius replied to kibot's topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
This is a real shame. I was a real big fan of the work that has been done on DUWS. The real shame is that if he had simply set up a donation shop and asked for support for his continued efforts (without putting the mod behind a paywall), I would have gladly donated, and I'm sure I'm not alone on that. What a waste. -

Aiming is becoming too difficult!
danius replied to rimap-p90's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
While I agree that aiming and stamina management can be annoying at times, I also thoroughly enjoy the mechanics and think they are great. You just need to be able to learn the mechanics and use them properly. - Use sprint SPARINGLY. Really you should only use sprint over very short distances and only when absolutely necessary. Any period of sprinting MUST be followed by a period of rest behind cover before moving on. - There is nothing wrong with the stamina levels. You are a fully kitted up soldier. You need to manage your inventory (really should only be at half capacity or less), and you need to move tactically. Crouch behind cover, survey your surroundings, move to next cover, wait, survey surroundings, repeat. If you were on a battlefield taking fire from hundreds of meters away, you bet your ass you'd move carefully and slowly also. - You should never fire at anything from standing. The only time this may be necessary is if you run around a corner and run into enemies at very close range. Typically if you are firing from standing, you are in a lot of trouble. - As forteh said earlier, you should figure out the key binding for the "temporary zoom" or "zoom in" mechanic (I think that's what it is). This will allow you to zoom in on your optics WITHOUT holding your breath. For me I have "Hold Breath" bound to right mouse button and the zoom in bound to the forward button on my mouse. This will give you zoom benefits without killing your fatigue. - Once you figured that binding out, you should only use "hold breath" for like half a second before you fire, aim, fire, release immediately. If you hold down hold breath for more than a few seconds (I think someone said 6) you are going to kill your fatigue and your aim until you can catch your breath. Anyway, those are my tips and my opinions. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions. The aiming and fatigue mechanics are way different from other games and it took me a long time to adapt to them. But now that I understand them and are kind of used to them, I really enjoy the added layer of complexity and difficulty. -
I mean, maybe. But at least the AI could make a good show of it and open up in the general direction of the AI. Even if it didn't do anything, at least it would look cool and feel satisfying. EDIT: But the AT units simply not firing rockets at armored targets needs to be addressed. I can't think of anything more frustrating then commanding an AI AT unit within striking distance undetected, ordering him to nuke the target, and him just standing there, staring at you. Arguably exponentially more important.

A solution to the Altis Life "Problem": Standalone "Life" Game
danius replied to Westonsammy's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I think Altis Life is weird as hell. However, I really don't see the point in making a standalone title. I mean, who cares? They play their game mode, and you can play yours. I'm not really sure the presence of multiple game modes in a sandbox platform is diluting your player base somehow. Personally, I love Wasteland. I also am of the opinion that it fits into the military sim theme just fine and I'm not really sure why people feel differently. I guess the point is, different strokes for different folks and all that. Just because it's available in your server list, doesn't mean you have to play it. -
I second and fully support this discussion! I find it mind boggling that the suppressive fire command just does not work at all. It's far from the only AI command that doesn't work either. I mean, have you ever tried to get an AT soldier to, you know, actually fire his AT at a target? Doesn't work 9/10 times...

Steering with the mouse is broken in the latest update
danius replied to alarm9k's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
OK I'll have to check it out. I guess the issue I always had was I never got the hang of being able to freelook while using the mouse for steering. I'll give it a shot next time I'm playing. Maybe you guys opened my eyes to whole new and better way to control vehicles. We shall see. -
Steering with the mouse is broken in the latest update
danius replied to alarm9k's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Wait. People actually use the mouse to steer land vehicles?!? I mean to each his own, of course, but I always found the mouse controls to be completely useless. Double-alt is the first thing I do when getting into a vehicle. I dunno, maybe I'm missing something. -
what is the most annoying thing for you in arma 3 ?
danius replied to sgtsev3n's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I voted for FPS out of the options above, but the unintuitive, clumsy, and just difficult-to-use-on-the-fly action menu is definitely up there. I play a lot of Whole Lotta Altis and managing lots of AI teammates plus the High Command is very difficult. Simple things like being in a vehicle and detecting an enemy chopper, trying to exit the vehicle, equip a launcher (even if it's in your inventory), switching weapons, and locating and firing upon said chopper takes way too long. Usually by the time you are ready to fire, your target is long gone (or are firing at your position while you stand there helplessly.) Not sure what the problem with people playing non-military sim mods are. I mean, Arma is supposed to be a platform, not a game. If people enjoy using the platform to play those types of mods, then what's the issue? No one is forcing you to join them. -
I've downloaded plenty of SP missions from the workshop. The problem I have with it is it is really difficult to sort out the crap from the gold. The issue is that when you want to browse the workshop and look for highly rated missions, you really only have two options: 1. Top Rated All Time - This returns a pretty much static list of missions. I would imagine it is exceedingly difficult for a newer mission to break into the top list here. 2. Most Popular (by "This Week" or "Today") - The problem with these is that it is far too EASY for a mission (whether it be total crap or totally awesome) to appear on these lists. I just clicked on the fourth mission in the weekly list, and it only had 840 subscribers. Most of the missions have zero stars, which makes it really difficult to determine which missions are worth your time investment. What would greatly improve the current situation is if they added longer timelines to choose from (e.g. Monthly) on the Most Popular list, and list other options for Top Rated other than "All Time" (e.g. Top Rated Monthly again)

I had the same problem and was stuck on 1.24. I verified local files and found 198 files that were corrupted and needed to be redownloaded, except Steam wouldn't download the update. Uninstalling and reinstalling Arma did the trick. It's really not such a big deal. All your mods and savegames will be retained (although you might want to back up your Arma folder that's in your My Documents folder by default out of an abundance of caution.)
