Impressive. Can't wait to see them ingame.

The "main" reason why CQB isn't a thing in ArmA 3 is because of the lack of proper buildings / environments to CQB in, that's honestly about it.
I'm saying that because it would be a shame to have a very in-depth mod, but still no place to properly use these new tools.

Hey Silola,
I'm running in a small issue here, i placed a handgun on a table, but for some reason i can't interact with the handgun. I can't take it in my inventory nor equip it per say. Simulation on / off doesn't seem to do anything.
If you covered that in one of your video, my bad. I'm still at the part 13.
-
I can't begin to understand the amount of work that went into XCAM. Thanks again Silola, this is astonishing.

That's a matter of taste. That's not a matter of taste. While i agree on the fact that 3D optics aren't near a perfect state, 2D textures for scopes is just plain shameful in 2015 and should remain on some STALKER mods.
Plus, i don't even know why we're still arguing about that when i already said that the best solution would be to add 3D variants of the said optics, and keep the 2D ones, so everyone would be happy.

Yeah, they have some issues, sure. Is this a valid reason to go back to old ass, bad looking, standards ?
The mod quality is pristine everywhere else.
Anyway, if it's such a hot topic, do the same thing as RobertHammer with his ACOG : release a 2D version, and a 3D version. Problem solved.

Hi ToadieJust a quick question regarding the RHS weapons reload animation etc. Since RHS has now updated and I know you where heavily involved with the animations of the weapons, does this fix still apply?
Thanks for all your work!
Cheers
The fix is deprecated now, you can remove it.

Your reclamations should be aimed at Bohemia, not the modders trying to enhance an existing base.
I get your point, don't get me wrong, and i'm not trying to invalidate your post with this, but utimately aks yourself why do you have shit framerate in the first place ? Because BI, on a technical aspect, is using a fucking deprecated engine. At least with the hardware we got in 2015.
You can't ask a modder to produce a high quality, high fidelity mod, and at the same time composing with the massive flaws of Real Virtuality, it would be a living nightmare to produce anything worth a shit whatsoever.
-
Could we expect 3D optics in RHS somedays ? That ELCAN model is way, waaaay too good to be wasted with some old ass 2D texture.
Thanks.

The view distance itself isn't the problem. The object drawing distance is.
what was your starting FPS; 120 ?Around 80 or so.

Regardless of wether its going to be improved or not, you should know that this mod was never aimed at people with mediocre rigs. You need some high end hardware to get the best preformance. I'm running a GTX680, Core i7 3770K at 3.50 GHz and 16 gigs of RAM on Windows 64bit. Which could be considered as mid-high end hardware, its not the best of the best currently availeble, but its also not to shabby for gaming. I'm not noticing any major preformance drops. Only when turning things up to ridicilous factors with serveral hunderd AI including tanks jets and heli's who are all blowing each other up does my game become unplayable. But if that's the kind of scenario you're after you probably shouldn't be using Blastcore in the first place.Blastcore should run fine as long as you play more realistic scenario's with a couple of hand fulls of support units.
I ran some tests on a 4770K - GTX 690 - 32 gigs RAM, and a 5930K - GTX 980 - 16 gigs the other day, and in both cases Blastcore effects shat on my framerate by around 15 to 30 FPS flat. Which is considerable in a game where you have such an unstable framerate to begin with. And we're talking about watching a single chopper crashing to the ground.
I don't want to start some kind of shitty argument, which will end with the awful "i-it's not the mod which is problematic, it's your computer hrururhrurueheu !" argument being spouted to hell and back on three pages anyway. So let's simply put it this way : saying Blastcore doesn't affect framerate in a considerable way, and saying the only reason your framerate is impacted by Blastcore is because your computer is medicore is being excessively ignorant.
Now, i don't ask OS to fix or do anything. ArmA is ArmA, and performances in this game are shit to begin with, so when you're trying to make better effects, past a certain stage there's so much you can do. I'm just making a statement.

- snip, moved this request to AGM -
-
Can someone point me out how to enable the new " alternate " damage effect ?
It's not that i dislike the chroma aberration but i rather have something else.
-
The AGM backblast works just fine out of the box. I don't get your point.
-
The cookoff for tanks are nice. But always the same speed is a bit strange. perhaps put some random timed cookoff animations?I agree with the randomization part. Like X time before explosion, X being a randomized number.
some only smoke get outside (no fire getting outside and no explosion)?Probably because they're not considered as armed vehicles by AGM. Only vehicles with ammunitions will explode.
By the way, can we have some documentation about the cookoff ? As usual, i want to make some compatibility patches for some mods.

Using the HD map with no AI - I too had a solid 35 to 40 fps in build up areasBit of a beast PC mind so take my numbers with a pinch of salt
5960x at 4.5 + 2x GTX980's
SLI is beyond useless on ArmA 3 but you CPU is saving you
-
It is possible to make the mod AGM compatible? Like backblast etc...Yes it is. Quite easily actually. I can make a patch if i find the time today, if you want.
edit : Actually, it is AGM compatible. As far as the backblast goes. Since the launcher is inherited from Launcher_Base_F it should work just fine.
-
It's also in AGM, and probably in CSE.To an extent yes, but not fully. What i saw in the video is one step further.
You can select how you want to throw them in AGM and CSE, yes, but you don't have that 3D ( 3D or 2D, can't tell actually ) model on the screen. Also AFAIK you can't roll grenades, can't tell about CSE but in AGM you can't, you can only drop them.
-
Is there any plans to expand the fortifications ? Sandbangs and barbed wire makes sense, but i still think there's room for other things.
Oh and merry christmas guys.
-
Yup. There's no words to describe how good this map looks, especially when you're used to ArmA 2 standards.
You guys can be proud. Would you be interested in some 4K ( downsampled to 1080p ) screenshots ?
Also i really hope you will end up releasing XCAM, especially when we see the results with this map. It would be a benefit for everyone and for every map.
-
God damn that video is amazing. That grenade throw was boner material, you're the man shay.
Am i wrong if i say i already saw the same mechanic somewhere ? I think dyslexci ( that nickname man ) did something like that in ArmA 2, but it never saw the light of day.
-
Gorgeous map, as expected.
A really good showcase of what X-Cam is able to do.
Though i hope some of you aren't expecting to actually play on that map, with a moderate amount of AI and whatnot. The framerate will prevent you so. But i guess it wasn't the point of it, right ?

edit : nevermind, updated to the last armasync version fixed my repo issue

Is the AI falling unconscious activated by default ? Are they using a special animation when they fall unconscious or it's ragdolls ? Thanks.

in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Posted
I'm probably coming late as all hells with this, but what would truely be amazing in the actual state of the game, and the modding scene in general is a SMG pack. Now that muzzle velocity and inertia are a thing, there's definitively a point to them. Plus we got about ten million assault rifle packs already available.
