    Blastcore: Phoenix 2

Blastcore explosions already tanks the framerate by around 20-30 FPS flat.
  2. No. Like you said it was added by ACE. Therefore it's a mod weapon, not an ArmA 2 weapon if you catch my drift.

    Blastcore: Phoenix 2

Yeah well hopefully it will not have much bearing on ArmA since that " Enfusion " engine not only runs worse than ArmA 3, which is an accomplishment on itself, but also looks worse.

    Blastcore: Phoenix 2

    Lots of speculation from everyone.

    Advanced Ballistics (WIP)

No. I'm talking about inconsistencies like a weapon supporting ( and using ) Ruthberg great work, and another that doesn't. With such a mod, you either go hard ( aka values being applied to every single weapon you have in your modpack ) or you don't, because there's nothing worse than having proper values with a gun, than shooting another one and ending with vanilla values because it doesn't have the proper lines in the config files. That's what i mean with inconsistencies. Nobody is to blame here, at all, but i just want to avoid that kind of experience to my players. Therefore i wonder what the solution could be. Creating a database ( some kind of wiki ) with premade AB values ( per ammo and weapons ) ready to be included in CfgWeapons and CfgAmmo ? I mean, we can't just spam Ruthberg with every weapon mod in the universe and wait for him to provide values, it will become problematic past a certain point don't you think ? Well i was thinking about VTN recently. But i should warn you : that's a big one. There's a truckload of weapons ( AK varians as far as the eye can see ) and ammo types.

    Advanced Ballistics (WIP)

I really want proper ballistics, but at the same time i don't want inconsistencies. This mod should honestly be merged with AGM. Besides, while i can make config patches for some weapon mods missing the required lines to properly support Advanced Ballistics, i have absolutely no idea how i'm supposed to fine certain data ( like bullet caliber in inches, or barrel twist ) and i can't be arsed to go through various military websites and PDF to find an answer on a subject i'm not really interested in, in the first place. I appreciate the work you guys are trying to do, but i just can't see this mod being applied in a modpack without massive inconsistencies and issues.
  7. As far as i can tell it will destroy some buildings and add some smoking car wrecks here and there. I really like the concept, but i'm unsure about the impact on performances, especially in a multiplayer environment, so i never really used it.
  8. Not really, no. I'm just asking you to avoid using the word "community" for nothing, since it cause people to feel like they're being put in the same bag. It feels like they're being "punished" because of the comments of someone else. Which isn't necessary in the slightest. I mean i had bad download speeds when downloading the 7gb of AiA on Armaholic and i was disappointed. Not the end of the world.
  9. Max i could get while downloading AiA was like 1MB/s flat on a 50 MB/s network. So i dont know where these 1000MB/s were supposed to be at the time, but certainly not in my country. Also please, can you avoid creating dramas and circlejerks with petty phrases like We both know it was unnecessary. It's not " the community " who is speaking here, just me.
  10. It's not that i dislike ArmA3Sync, far from it since i'm using it, but why would make something so specific ? A download link on Armaholic and such isn't doing the job ?
  11. Extremely disappointed by the download speeds i got on ArmAholic. Is there a torrent link for the last version ?
  12. The earplugs box is invisible. Also can someone explain me the differences between the electronic, and standard earplugs, if there's one ? Thanks.
  13. Concerning that animated sight issue, you might want to have a chat or take a look at VTN. I don't know if they have the same issue, or if they managed to fix it, but close to all their AKs are animated in the same fashions as yours. So a chat doesn't hurt.

    TF47 Launchers [WIP]

It should be possible. Though it can lead to crashes. You can take a look at VTN mod, they have a RPG-7V2 which you can zero ( and is animated ).
  15. So i'm basically discovering the joys of config files, and i was wondering the impact of these two values. As far as i understand, they have a direct impact on AI detection once you opened fire. The thing is, i don't have any rough estimate of what audiblefire value = AI detection range meters. Therefore i rather not mess around with these values, since i don't want to end up with a MP5 alerting an entire army on 1KM flat. Can someone educate me on these values, or provide me a way to get a rough estimate ? Thanks in advance.

    Authentic Gameplay Modification

I don't know if BadBenson will provide his experiments' date=' but you should rather wait for that and see if it's usable ( with a significant amount of players in mind ) than going back to full 2D.
  17. So yeah. I was in doubt so i did a clean reinstall of ArmA 3, running the game with @CUP only and i still miss the muzzleflashes. Since the issue is new, and the culprit isn't CUP ( since it's the same version as before ) my guess is that something changed in the recent ArmA 3 update that broke the muzzleflashes in CUP. Might want to check the configs.
  18. Got a very strange issue with CUP recently : i don't have muzzleflashes anymore. The weapon only produce smoke.
  19. Interesting. Thanks. When you say you did VGls to AiA, did you mean for yourself, or it's actually part of AiA ?
  20. Yeah. Maybe. Though, i saw some important issues laying in the dust for months before they were even remotely fixed. All in all i rather play the pessimist, because being optimist in the ArmAverse is a straight path to the ninth circle of disappointment. ---------- Post added at 16:31 ---------- Previous post was at 15:50 ---------- Also Jarhead, i know you're always looking for good videos featuring vehicle / weapons sounds. This one is a gem on the subject, i'm sure you will be able to get something out of it.
  21. Well if we have to wait on BI to do / fix anything in order for this mod to be released, we can pretty much forget about JSRS for good. Or at least for a significant amount of time. So yeah. See you guys in June 2015, at the very least.
  22. Shame because they look amazing. Animated iron sights was the cherry on the cake. Did you reported the issue to BI ?
  23. Got some mad crashes with the RPG-7V2. Any idea ? The optic doesn't seems to be the culprint. edit : Scratch that. The crashes seems to be related to if the launcher is already loaded or not. Let me explain, if you go in the Virtual Arsenal, and take the launcher without a backpack, the launcher will be added to your character without a rocket in it. In this case the game doesn't crash, and adding the rockets manually works fine. If i have a backpack on me, the rocket will be automatically added to the launcher, and if i press " Try " the game will instantly crash. So basically pre-loaded rockets in the RPG-7V2 seems to make the game crash.
  24. I never implied anything about CUP, was talking in a general way. I'm fine with what has been released so far. Besides as of right now i have enough 3D optics for a lifetime. Indeed.
  25. Yes it will. Depends what you mean by " magnification ". Sniper scopes in ArmA 3 shows up as 2D textures because we don't have proper PIP scopes ( ala Insurgency or Red Orchestra 2 ), therefore there's no other way to produce a high to very high magnification. I heard BadBenson managed to produce a working PIP concept, but nobody knows when it will be released, if it will, so let's put that aside for now Basically, and ideally, every scope with a low to mid magnification in ArmA 3 should be in 3D. Like this ACOG TA31F ( source : VTN mod ). http://a.pomf.se/mjnivz.jpg (496 kB) But you can't produce high magnification scopes with this method because the higher the magnification, the lower the FOV since it will "zoom" the whole scene. http://a.pomf.se/jviekn.jpg (552 kB) Anyway, 3D scopes is a new standard in ArmA 3, and it would feel strange to add proper ArmA 3 muzzleflashes, attachments and all that jazz and forget about 3D optics. At least for low to mid magnification scopes.
