    You are probably seeing it wrong. It's more work than you think, so BI has to think about if the investment will pay off in enough profits.

    I agree it's a bit hard to find :-) You have to click the yellow objects/props button on the top right of the screen. There it's somewhere under static ships I believe, you can find it fast by first clicking on the yellow button and then type 'freedom' in the search field near the button (the ship is called USS Freedom). :-)

    Surprised by the notion of using google to fix these types of errors I decided to try it! The google search field does have a spelling check! Unfortunately it only flagged 'im', but it's better than nothing I guess.     I don't think military's would want to use continuous range finders (in the future), because they might reveal your position / intentions to advanced sensors of the enemy.

    It still comes across to me as entitlement, I only hear 'I don't want to pay, I don't want to pay'. Just pay for the damn Island, it's beautiful and definitely worth the money. :-) Free-to-play games often use business models that are incompatible with the spirit of BI/Arma, Maybe it's a matter of opinion, but I like the more WYSIWYG approach (paying for large packages) instead of hidden costs (uniforms, individual weapons etc.) and going in a pay-or-grind or pay-to-win direction. People still have another huge Island, which also is very impressive in scope. So it's not that there is no Island to play on unless you pay. But no, there comes the reasoning: 'I don't like Altis, it's boring, I want more but I don't want to pay for it' Maybe it's just a compliment to Arma that people are playing it too much and getting oversaturated with the experience. My message to people who feel that Arma does not have enough (free) content is: it's in your head! go outside, go play something else for a while and come back later to see how impressive the whole Arma experience is. :-)

    I realize how much work goes into building something like this carrier, it's an awesome extra to go with the DLC! So cool to plunk it down in the Tanoan sea as if it's a new small man-made Island, standing on it and looking at the other Islands nearby :-)

    Maybe they can replace the moans with non-stop swearing as long as you're wounded. Both realistic and adds variety ;-) I'm looking forward to nonstop swearing in British English, American English, Greek, Farsi, French and Chinese.

    Not *quite* correct, in fact it was an alien faction from Astrolia that both started Bohemia Interactive Studios and Bohemia Interactive Simulation in order to subdue the general population with distracting games and influence militaries from several countries at the same time. According to InfoWars the main difference after they split is that BIS consists entirely of shapeshifting aliens whereas BI staff are mostly original humans.     Newcomer to Arma, need some tips :-)

    If you're in a helicopter, 'eject' means removing the disc from the helicopters cd player. For helo gameplay I also recommend just throwing down a helo in the editor and fly it around. You will learn: - how to fly properly - the layout of the maps - landing at difficult places (at the hospital roof pad in Kavala, or ... on top of the round radar domes) :-) - shooting (practice on buildings, or empty vehicles etc.) For advanced: create a mission which takes three hours and try to play it with one life. You will not be bored :-)

  14. Aren't there already a whole bunch of different movement speeds: sprint, run, tactical run, crouched run, walking, fast crawl, crawl? How would more speeds improve stealth game?

    Armed offroad and armed prowler 400m distance

    I second this, the other day I wanted to create a scenario where you use the prowler weapons to engage an enemy at 800-1000m. Use the heavy caliber weapon at a longer range than the standard infantry weapons and the distance is great enough to not risk the vulnerable vehicle too much. A good role for this vehicle. Unfortunately, I noticed that the magnification was not sufficient enough and you have to resort to more 'Rambo-ing' by driving and shooting up close. Missing out on more tactical scenario's!

    This thing is so cool! Only in arma3 can you fly a Nazi German flying saucer somewhere over Greece with an Iranian crew.. :-D It did stall out quite fast which I did not expect with an anti-gravity vehicle. The German engineers need to up their game to perfect this alien technology..

    One thing I noted as well when finalizing dropping of vehicles with the Blackfish (AI): when you're *in a vehicle in the Blackfish*, there is much noise like engine or wind that changes in pitch, sounding very weird and annoying. You also hear this if you go to external view. The pitch of this white noise changes depending on how you rotate the camera. It sounds unrealistic and annoying and makes you want to turn the game sound off for the duration of the flight. If you're in the cockpit of the Blackfish, this noise is not present (internal or external view). I know the VTOLS are not a priority at the moment, but I hope some resources can still be spent in the future to make the VTOL experience a little less crude.

    Nothing will stop you to add an action to a specific location (the cat position) that will launch a script that launches your _this select 0 as far as you like :-)

    This seems to be broken with AI. You can turn the engine on with script when the Blackfish hasn't done anything, however, after it has landed it will always turn its engines off, and you can't turn them on. I made an eventhandler that fires up the engines once it detects they are off. It works one time at the beginning of the mission. The Blackfish will only start its engines when it gets a new move command.

    With weird flying behaviour its sometimes the case that you just have to restart the mission/game. Might that help in your case? I know that sometimes pathfinding behaviour changes in another session after you have painstakingly configured it on one occasion.

    Now I remember.. It should also work 'out of the box'. To see which number is which airfield I dropped a blackfish on the map to the n-w of Bala, set its height to 100 and put 'this landAt 3;' in its init. Should def work! Tanoa airports: - 0 = main - 1 = military - 2 = dutch - 3 = dirt - 4 = harbour

    My script is a little more elaborate but the relevant parts are these: while {_count < (count _wpList)} do { _helo move (getPos (_wpList select _count)); waitUntil {_helo distance (_wpList select _count) < _wpRadius}; _count = _count + 1; }; waitUntil {unitReady _helo}; _helo landAt 3; So I make the blackfish fly to a convenient waypoint to the n-w of Bala, about two km. Then I activate the 'landAt 3'. I tested it at default flyInHeight and flyInHeight 500; My plane leaves at Tuvanaka airport.
