    Fallujah 1.2

Are there plans for a dedicated Arma 3 version? Like with what Minimalaco did with F.A.T.A and hopefully will do with Clafghan? Play With SIX doesn't seem to like syncing A2 files with A3.

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

As well as the Fallujah terrain. Which doesn't need any files to be deleted. It works fine but still has the same problems with working with the A2 version and syncing it to A3 with play with six.
  3. Are there any plans to have Clafghan ported to A3 so it could be installed via play with six? Again, it'd have to have the "colum_vertical_pond.pbo" file deleted as it doesn't properly translate in A3 but there aren't drawbacks at all. I know I could just extract it into my A3 steam folder and sync it with PW6, but it always tends to bug out over time. And even after you delete it and try to extract it again, it still has the same problem.

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

A dedicated version of Clafghan just for A3. The "colum_vertical_pond.pbo" file would have to be deleted due to that particular pond glitching out when approaching it on ground or in the air. And this would help as well with PW6 compatibility seeing as exporting the a2 mod to your A3 steam folder then syncing it with PW6 provides issues down the road if you add it to too many various collection over time.

  6. I need to know where the file(s) are that hold the information pertaining to my custom keybinds and graphics options so I can copy them for later use. That's all I'm looking for.

Arma 3 Helicopters DLC Discussion (dev branch)

Understatements of the thread in bold. As for the KelTec RFB aka SDAR, it's got an atrocious muzzle climb, an odd forward ejection port just above the barrel and the charging handle tends to stick from what I've heard. And the length isn't too great for CQB (operation within a vehicle) in my opinion. About 30 inches long. (Length of a FAL minus the stock.) Still a fairly new company though at 3 years. They do have some good designs though.

That's what I get for reading posts past 3am when work kicked my ass the day prior. Felt like I was drunk compared to now.

I'd love to see official BI posts stating such facts. I can't just let my own reasoning boil down to what I want as facts, sadly. My stomach will continue to turn until I see BI posts confirming. :( I did keep in mind that they're both considered medium lifts. I just wasn't thinking about to what extents. I guess it's to each is own in how the Valor's looks are viewed. My head is just clouded by how much I just want the Osprey to show it's pretty face. Preferably in two flavors: One with the ramp gun with lifting capabilities and the other with both the ramp and the belly mounted guardian. I did make an earlier post about wanting a "futuristic" Osprey. If that means slimming everything down, giving it more armaments and the hull of a Blackhawk, I could live with that, definitely. I just really want to see the Osprey. In all its iconic glory. And that big beautiful medium gray ass. #FS35237

All this "soonâ„¢" is making my stomach turn. I wish I had a project that would take me 600 miles away from my computer until the update arrived. At least on dev branch. And as much as I'd love that type of craft in A3, the Valor looks like the an anorexic civilian version of the MV-22. The thing just doesn't look military grade at all. And that said, I'd also say that it could be a civi craft in-game. But I don't think civilian-owned VTOLs are very practical. The Valor's 300 knots top speed is pretty sick though. Osprey still looks better in my opinion.
  11. So for those who, when opening the userconfig file, have absolutely no idea what they're looking at, are there any simple step by step guides to get this working? I'm assuming you have to input a key combination into the config to get the UI to show up, and that those are the only inputs you need. I've done this for VTS_Weaponresting, but I forgot how on earth I did it.
  12. After deleting the "colum_vertical_pond.pbo" file to get rid of the floating pond in the sky, I've ran into a similar graphical glitch around the same area it occurred the most. Has anyone seen this as well?
  13. If you haven't seen this yet, Navistar has their different versions described and with rotatable models of them. http://www.navistardefense.com/NavistarDefense/vehicles?filter=1&v1=v1 There are two versions though that they don't show. One is a medical/resupply version with the rear cab constructed without the two windows on either side. And the other is with the camo netting over the 50. gunner's turret. The recovery variant shown on Navistar is probably my favorite non-combat version though. ---------- Post added at 05:04 ---------- Previous post was at 04:58 ---------- http://www.military-today.com/apc/maxxpro_mrap_l11.jpg (114 kB)

The mv-22 sounds like a reasonable hope. As for the f-35 and the c-130, those aren't helos. Maybe later on in A3's development though. And the next major update to the campaign will be (if I'm remembering correctly) part of the expansion planned for 2015. Or if you consider the Bootcamp campaign as a major update to A3's campaign, then you can look forward to the (if there is one) campaign for the Marksman DLC which will be developed after the Helicopter DLC launches. http://www.bistudio.com/english/company/developers-blog/460-arma-3-roadmap-201415

Alright. The time is nigh. I don't think any of us would care if the product is still in development stages, we'd all enjoy seeing at least some screens of slung cargo and shooting from vehicles in-game. If not both then one or the other. I don't want to be referred back to the RotorLib website to read up on it again. Despite the website having pictures of its own tech, this is like a Playboy magazine without pictures for lack of a better, but to myself, unseen interpretation.
  16. I'm not talking about the most realistic physics here. I'm talking about A3 physics, which are fairly good, but still not terribly realistic. That, and how there are obvious flaws with the in-game maxxpro's traction that does not match that of the in-game NATO hunter's (Oshkosh M-ATV) which is only 500 lbs. heavier than the basic maxxpro model (CAT I). Flaws in terms of steering wheel/wheel relation responsiveness, drifting at relatively slow speeds and stability on inclines and declines. In the video, you'll see me making pretty much the exact same turns at the same and higher speeds. In A3, turning the wheel alone acts like a breaking system. At least for vanilla vehicles. And player-observed turning of the steering wheel reacts much quicker and feels like the wheels are being turned to appropriate degrees.
  17. Either I'm too lazy to have looked back far enough, or it just hasn't been posted yet. Either way, here's my personal account of the drift/sliding issue as well as some other things I felt I needed to address. Great stuff though besides these issues, you're amazing! -I feel like I'm in the making of the next FAF movie; Stratis Drift. -Turning feels slow/doesn't seem match up to how much the wheel turns.

I've given the new FM a go. Several goes actually. It is fun, I can see many things that need improvement but it's still fun and has a lot of potential. At the moment however I don't think I can get the most enjoyment from it without a joystick and such. But what I was talking about was sling loaded cargo and shooting from helos and flatbed trucks! I cry a bit every time I don't see an updated twitter feed with the words "dev-build", "firing from vehicles" and "sling loaded cargo" in the description. I'd be overjoyed with just screenshots! Hell, even the devs talking about it for Zeus' sake! They could have screwed up/unfinished animations and all, I wouldn't care! I don't think they realize how long these features have been overdue and begged for by the community. I'm actually very new to it, myself, but damn! I just want more info at least.

"we hope to deploy to the dev-branch soonâ„¢!" -A3Official Twitter "It's not soon enough!â„¢" - Arma Community Damn the completely sane reasoning for development testing, just give us some damn screenshots at least! The wait is horrible!

[bUTTHURT INTENSIFIES] Seriously though, reading this was like watching a puppy getting kicked. A mod variant would be nice to have though for Zeus scenarios. I'm thinking BIS probably put fast roping on hold in hopes to pump out the new FM, slung cargo and firing from vehicles early.

That's freaking awesome! I love McDD! There is a tail rotor-like fan housed in the rear of the fuselage near the base of the tail boom. It generates and pushes air out of the tail's vented tip which can be directed for heading, but uses the Coanda effect for stability on straight headings as well as with hover states. It's basically a big air foil inside the boom.

Has anyone been able to get any info in the case of fast roping?

Just got done with a good session with the flight model a while ago. Made me sweat at some points. Some really good stuff though. If you're not too new to flying helis in A3 without the new mechanics, it's pretty easy to pick them up. You just have to keep your eyes and ears open. Try taking off, recover from and landing with a busted tail rotor too. You'll feel hard as nails haha.
