Marine Expeditionary Force Mod
Mattastic replied to Mattastic's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
So, apparently my last update included out-of-date signatures and key. I have gotten reports of .pbo's failing to verify with server usage. I have released a small update (2.5.1) to fix that. Download 2.5.1 -
script snippet - downlad data from a laptop
Mattastic replied to t-800a's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hey, I am trying to use this script and keep getting an error. The error is with an undefined variable. I haven't changed any of your code except for removing the bomb script lines from the init.sqf that you include and to be clear the same error resulted before removing that code. -
Hmm, that doesn't really make sense. Where did that fear originate? Obviously something must have happened to scare them into shutting down. I know they cite the Star Trek fan film situation as their reason, but that was with a different IP owned by different companies. It isn't the best case to compare their risk with. That mod had a lot of work put into it and for them to close their doors just out of fear seems irrational. The imperial assault mod was all over social media during the time of the star wars movie release. When you have IGN, Game Informer, Games Radar, Kotaku, etc. making tweets about awesome star wars mods and showing them off, it would not surprise me if Disney came across the mods that way. I would say that it is almost certain that they were aware of them and possibly contacted them. **EQUIP YOUR TINFOIL HAT NOW** It is also possible the Star Trek fan film story is just a cover. It is a very real possibility that Disney did shut them down and demanded they remain silent about it. If they were to speak out or tell the truth, Disney would then sue them for what they did with their IP. If this sounds crazy, that's because it is, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen all the time because it does. However, I'm sure we will never get the whole story. Like I said before though, hopefully, this mod will not experience any complications like that because it looks awesome. Have no fear McRuppert, the force is with you.

This looks great! Those animations look like they are from Jedi Knight though, are they custom?. I was told the Imperial Assault mod by Blue Harvest was shut down due to a cease and desist letter from Disney. Not sure if there is any truth to this, but if there is hopefully you won't receive the same type of letter because this mod looks like a lot of fun.

Alaska 2035 Terrain [Alpha]
Mattastic replied to Mattastic's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I am working to get the next update out, but my plate is pretty full with other, higher priority responsibilities. It doesn't help that a prior partial hardware failure on my pc has contributed to some significant problems with continuing the project. I am working on resolving this and if need be, I am just going to re-do the terrain. If it comes down to this the terrain won't change and you can expect the next update to appear as progress of what you have already. Apologies, but please be bear with me until I get the issues resolved. -To those who wish to offer help on my problem, I had a hard drive failure. When I recovered the partition that had my terrain project on it everything seemed fine. I am was and am still able to open the project in Terrain Builder and seemingly continue development without any problems. There are no issues with Buldozer either. However, after I export the terrain to .wrp and load it up with arma, the issue is observable. There are no roads visible. In addition, when the player brings up the map, all objects placed in the terrain are not visible. The green overlay for forests, rocks, roads(to be expected), and building shapes are all not visible. An important thing to note is that when I recovered from my hard drive failure, my partition containing the terrain project had a change occur with it's drive letter. It went from D to E. For a week or two I continued with the change and had tor resolved several problems with things looking for a D path. Since then I have reverted the drive letter back to D(what it was before crash) as well as other changes I made to compensate for the changed drive letter (E). The problem still persists. If you have an idea what could be the problem, I would really appreciate your input. -

Tetrahedron.p3d - What is it ??
Mattastic replied to 1para{god-father}'s topic in ARMA 3 - TERRAIN - (BUILDER)
I figured I would post one more time here before starting a new thread on an issue I am having that may or may not be related to what was discussed in this thread. I will briefly re explain my issue that I have been able to narrow down. I had not opened my terrain project for a couple weeks and in that time there was an update to A3 tools. I also had a semi crashed hard drive that I had to recover from. I will note that my drive that had all of my a3 content on it has had a letter change( Not P drive. Instead of D it is now E). Above I stated that my roads weren't viewable in buldozer. This was because I simply forgot to redo the scripts folder and the editor script. However, in game the roads do not show up. In addition to the roads, on the map screen there are no object shapes viewable where I have buildings placed. Let me know what you guys think could be happening here. -

X-Cam 1.0 for Arma 3 released
Mattastic replied to silola's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hey everybody, I just tried the first steps of the installation process while following along with the install tutorial video. Everything was going fine until I did the initial loading of the XCam libraries. It was during this process that my PC froze for about 10 seconds then shut off completely. I started my PC and booted XCam back up in A3 and it seems to be working. Is this something that could cause a problem down the road for me? Should I attempt to reinstall without a crash before continuing with my work? -

Marine Expeditionary Force Mod
Mattastic replied to Mattastic's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
So I have decided to make a change with the current weapons and vehicles that I include with Marine Expeditionary Force. In the next week or two, I will be removing the current Humvee's, USMC aircraft (Except F37 & Vanilla reskins), and all non-vanilla weapons. I will be incorporating Community Upgrade Project Vehicles and Weapons into the mod as dependent mods to replace what is going to be removed. Like I said, this will happen in the next update. I will most likely make additions to the units config to include an alternate faction that utilizes vanilla weapons for those who are not interested in using CUP mods. I think I included my WIP M110 on the last update so as you can see I am learning the process of porting A2 assets to A3 and almost have it down. So eventually I would like to start re-including my own ported assets, but until then the options will soon be CUP weapons or Vanilla. Let me know if you have any questions about these upcoming changes. -
Alaska 2035 Terrain [Alpha]

The next update for this terrain should be out within the next few weeks. My second computer is currently calculating a new high res texture/sat image and should be done tomorrow or the next day. I will then have some edits to do to that image which could take some time. I also plan to include a completed second village and military base. If things go really well, I should be able to include a finished airport in the update. At the very least you can expect an update that includes at least a higher resolution texture/sat image in the next week or two. Thanks for the continued support. -
Tetrahedron.p3d - What is it ??
Mattastic replied to 1para{god-father}'s topic in ARMA 3 - TERRAIN - (BUILDER)
I opened my terrain project for the first time in a few weeks two days ago and got the tetrahedron error also. Since then I re-installed Arma 3 and Arma 3 Tools, all Mikero tools, re-ran FuturaToP and Arma3P. It seems that I have solved the issue because I am no longer getting the error. Interestingly enough, I still do not have a tetrahedron.p3d in my core folder where it is supposedly looking for one at. Also, I am not sure if this issue was related to the tetrahedron, but all of my roads in my project are no longer viewable in Buldozer. I assumed they were related, because both issues arose at the same time for me. Has anyone else experienced something like this? -
Hey, you're pretty good...

I am wondering how exactly you set up "dependencies" when using the Addon Builder. The option to "Set-Up" is grayed out for me and unselectable. What must I do to utilize this function?

v2.3 update has been release. I did not have as much time to work on this mod as I would have liked over the past couple months, but I did get a few things done. I fixed the MARSOC and Recon groups so that they are actually there. I Updated all of the T Shirt variant uniforms. I also added the drill instructor units and uniforms. I am still working on a new package of weapons i want to introduce to the mod. However, I wasn't able to finish them. They will come though soon enough. Hope you guys enjoy the new stuff in the mod and thanks for supporting. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4ZXC3a9bH9oOVVTaVpNM3EtQTA/view?usp=sharing -

v0.14 Alpha has been released. The terrain is continuing to grow and get more detailed. You should notice a couple more trails and new locations. As well as, many more buildings added to the first city which is pretty much complete. I began working on the airport, but was not able to finish it. You will notice an area on the map that is the location of this future airport. Thanks for supporting and I hope you guys enjoy the update. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4ZXC3a9bH9oZVpPanZ2OGJJMUE/view?usp=sharing -

From what I have seen the AI will engage whatever they see. Whether I am above or below them it doesn't seem to detract from their ability engage me when I present myself as a visible target within their active range. let me know if you see otherwise. -

Thanks for the kind words. It is difficult to point to one tutorial as being a good place to start. This terrain is my first, and I had no idea how to do it until I started doing it. I primarily followed the contents of The Atlas by Jakerod, everything on terrain building at PMC Editiing Wiki, and all of CAPTNCAPS video tutorials. Any other tutorials you find will most likely contain what one of those three have. The best thing you can do is just dive in and get your hands dirty with it. -

Just released the next alpha update for Alaska. The last two months were quite busy and I should hopefully be getting more time to work on the terrain and make quicker progress. I decided to rename the terrain to Alaska 2035 so I could set the environment in a war time scenario in the future. This will give me the option utilize more military structures and hopefully will create a better base environment of game play for players. v0.13 Download (also on first page)
